  • Do you know how cupping works? 🤔
We spoke with Jamie Kuljis, DACM, LAc, Dipl. OM in our latest video and she walks us through what the treatment does for the body! This practice can help with blood flow on any part of the body and has been used to treat abdominal pain, lung conditions, and general muscle pain.

This DOES work! I’ve had fire cupping done (which I prefer) and yes it leaves behind perfect circles that look like bruises, but they don’t hurt! This actually helps the blood pool to that area of the body that really needs better blood flow! I have my own cupping kit that I use for myself and I have helped some family members with it too! Don’t knock something that you haven’t tried before! To me this is way better than being dependent on medication for muscle relaxers that cause side effects! The side effect from this is you FEEL BETTER!!! For me this is a much better choice!
I hope this helps someone! 🙏❤️🙏

How long do the circles last?

@@jal.ajeeraMy acupuncturist told me they would be gone about the next day. I didn't think to look, though. It was out of sight, out of mind once I left the office.

Im seeing a physical therapist after a lower back injury at work. He has used the cups the last two visits and boy it helped! I am pretty sore from the exercises and heavy handed massages but my mobility has gone way up and i can bend and stoop like a teenager lol!

3 Years ago, someone had pressed my foot near the little toe of my foot with his shoe's tip for 40 minutes, due to which the flesh of my foot has torn, twisted and a pit has formed, it hurts a lot, it is not getting better even after many treatments, please tell its treatment.

Do you mind if I re-use the cupping animation for an academic presentation? I will cite properly.

Hm, would this help diabetics if used on the legs and soles of feet?

Hello! Great question! Cupping is used to increase blood flow and lymphatic circulation, it is not a cure but can help reduce inflammation and pain. That said, it is always important to consult your acupuncturist first. Different degrees of diabetic neuropathy are contraindicated for cupping. Thanks!

You can take suppliments like L-arginine/ coQ10 to dilate the blood vessels and calcium magnesium for muscles relaxation if that is the main point of doing the cupping theraphy.

Can you please let us know how often cupping can't be done Right now I'm doing it every Friday but due to lower back pain from hip versus from the glutes I would like to know if something is acceptable to be done twice a week.

Hello, great question! Cupping is safe to do multiple times a week. If you feel sore after treatment it is better to wait until any soreness is gone for at least a couple days before another session. We recommend speaking with the practitioner that you are receiving treatment from. They would have a better understanding of your healing time. It is better not to overwork the muscles and cause more soreness.

Can you provide evidence and scholarly journals to prove this works?

Hello! There are many research articles that show cupping is beneficial. If interested, you can search for them in research databases such as PubMed, Elsevier, or Ovid. Thanks!

@@scuhs So basically your answer is no? I've searched and I can't find any reputable studies that show cupping does anything but provide some temporary pain relief (which can probably be chalked up to the placebo effect). Please provide some links to studies if you know of any. Thanks

I guess in about 12 weeks, I will know from personal experience whether this works or not.
