They're not rescued 😂 they are pest to most southeast Asian countries killing other turtles and destroying ecosystem, they highly invasive and very aggressive that's why our poor Philippine Pond Turtle almost got extinct

Are there softshell turtles native in the U.S.? I thought I found a baby softshell turtle once in Minnesota. I moved it farther from the road, but other than that I left it alone. It was only an inch by inch in size at most.

When the alarm went off I freaked out thinking i somehow got distracted watching TH-cam videos until my morning alarm to wake up for school. Honest to god, almost crapped myself.. But it's only 11:38pm so I'm fine still got a few more hours till school.

Those necks are amazing. Glad he is out of quarantine and in a natural setting. It will be nice to see how big he gets. Will you get a girl at some point?
I was thinking about buying a trio of the Chinese albino softshells as I recently found some recently for sale. I myself like the albinos now. I bought 3 albino red ear sliders several years ago since red ear sliders are my all time favorite however as you know, it is illegal to own normals in Florida so I was stuck with chosing albinos.
My albino red ear sliders did breed giving me a bunch of hatchlings this year and I am just making sure they all feed well before selling most of them on. With wanting to diversify a bit, I thought with my turtle ponds to get some albino soft shells as well. At what size would you recommend any albino to be before they can be put in a pond such as yours so that predators won't snatch them up? I plan on releasing some albinos at my mom's natural pond back into the wild in which only Family has access to in my breeding efforts in the years to come.

Ehhhhhhhhhhhh, fly rivers kill small softshells. My buddy had 3 Floridas murdered by a FRT. Hopefully it works out, if he is constantly basking or trying to stay out of the water, it's getting picked on.

I just found a really dehydrated baby female today. I put her in a temporary holding tub, its small and I could either release her or grow her out. Is there a way to tame her so she doesnt get aggressive? I dont live by anywhere that would be safe to put her, the retention ponds dried up recently. So I'm thinking i'll grow her out, but I have no proper habitat for her, nor do i know how to make one. Plz advise.

actually it looks pretty healthy, active and alert. and being an albino which means lacking all pigment (sorry if you know this already i dont want to sound patronising ) and a lack of pigment leaves them vunurable to sun burn and the algae and dirt acts as a sun screen and helps keep parasites away. if this was indoors id agree with you because it would caused by bad husbandry (unclean/unhygienic ect.) but as its not this is what happens they get girty and in these cases dirt offers some sort of protection for the animal.

Yeah exactly! Turtles in the wild are always getting cleaned and hosed off! I can't believe they let him get so dirty like a normal turtle! Oh my gosh he needs to be as clean and obvious as possible because he's albino and doesn't need to hide from predators at all! For real he's bright white and is obviously a wild turtle. did you even think about your comment?
