- We have made it through CBB March Madness and the NCAA Tournament, college basketball and hoops discussion is officially over until next March, back to the cfb offseason as spring games go on, with various top 10 teams having their spring game, the nfl draft approaches, and as the spring transfer portal window re opens, we have previously discussed the top 10 college football biggest winners and losers of the transfer portal so far, coaches on the hot seat going into the 24 2025 season, top 10 offenses, quarterbacks, running backs, group of five g5 teams, overrated teams, impact transfer qbs, how their transfer portal classes will impact the next cfb season in 2024, as well as the cfp and college football playoff race, which teams will be in my preseason way too early top 25 rankings, my aye Gee poll, conference power ranking and transfer portal rankings, already, so today we are power ranking the big 12 conference going into the 2024 2025 college football season. Teams on this list, and discussed, could include any conference, group of 5 or power 5, from any conference, whether its the AAC American, ACC, Big 12, Big Ten 10, SEC, Mountain West, Sun Belt, Conference USA, or another, today though we focus in on the big 12 giving essentially my picks predictions and projections in a mini preview for the year, tier ranking these teams from pretenders, contenders, better luck next year, favorites, teams include Utah with kyle whittingham and cam rising, Oklahoma State with mike gundy and ollie gordon, Colorado with shedeur and deion sanders, TCU with sonny dykes, Baylor with dave aranda, UCF with gus malzahn and kj jefferson and peny boone, Houston with willie fritz, Cincinnati without luke fickel, Arizona with noah fifita, Arizona State with willingham, BYU, Kansas with jalon daniels, Kansas State with avery johnson, Iowa State with matt campbell and rocco becht, West Virginia with neal brown and garrett greene, Texas Tech with tahj brooks as texas and oklahoma leave the conference.

Missed the boat with UCF entirely. Nothing but focus on the offense. That's not where the issues are. Offense will be just fine (call equivalent to last year - likely a bit better). Last year was a defensive flop: LB's where toasted. Focus should be on the defensive changes to evaluate 2024 potential. Ex. Drop the PPG per game by 3-4 and UCF is a 9-10 win team in 23. Same in 2024. Evaluating 2024 should be solely on D for the UCF team.
UCF should be in contenders, Harvey is an absolute beast they got some good wr talent and KJ Jefferson is a definite upgrade over Plumlee, their schedule is also relatively easy they get Arizona and Utah at home and play Florida at the swamp as their most difficult games and I think they could win any of those, UCF is definitely better than TCU Colorado and WVU

@@gamerd8709 I mean Arizona most to Mississippi state last year and Utah lost to Oregon State, UCF is at least on the same level as them if not better, I also didn’t say they would beat them but I think they absolutely could, UCF is a top 5 offense in the B12 look at Oklahoma State last year UCF beat them by 42 and they made the championship game

leaning towards utah winning the conference, that defense is nasty and they will be a force.
Vegas has:
KST and Utah at 9.5 Wins
Kansas at 8.5 wins
Then a mass glut of 7.5 win teams:
Zona, ISU, Tech, OSU, TCU, UCF
Then the bottom half:
WVA at 6.5
Baylor, Colorado, Cincy at 5.5
Houston, BYU, ASU bring up rear at 4.5
Should be pretty competitive, pretty close #s

Vegas odds are not accurate, his guess is as good or bad as anybody . Utah has the easiest schedule, so maybe ,Okl st bowl gms 18 straight Cowboys, but big 12 Runs thru. Morgantown that's my guess ,Red Raiders are in the hunt . His year is going to be awesome 9 different tms could win it but as of right now we are all 0-0 tied

9:40 Utah lost to Ohio State and Penn State in two consecutive Rose Bowls. Rising has won the PAC-12 championship by beating USC. The problem if Utah wins the Big 12 is that the Big Ten is the Utes' Achilles heel. Both OSU and PSU will be in the 12-team playoff.

Solid bet there, OK St is a little hard to buy considering they were really up and down last year, could easily be more of the same or go one way or the other

Vegas said OSU would have 7 wins last year and they got 10. They return everyone including Ollie and have a veteran team that's been in 2 of the last 3 conference championships. This is a good team.

They literally return almost every single starter from last year (over 20), recruited better than they have in over a decade, and pulled the massive gaps from last year out of the portal with solid starters from other P4 schools. No way they don't make it to the B12 title game and win at least 1 playoff game.

Stop... UCF has been all hype since 2018. All talk and mid results. Every year its the same story. Las year they finished 3-6 in conference and Lost to KU with a back up QB by 30. You can make an argument that "You're telling me there's a chance" is generous.

@@Blkarican And KU played with a back up QB for over half the season had had their 3rd string in vs KSU and TTU. They didn't shit the bed like UCF. Seriously JRP was probably the single most overrated player in College football besides Dillon Gabriel. Almost beat OU... CLAP CLAP. He also lost to WVU with Three pics and To TTU with a 1 TD 1 INT game. Now he's not even there and you will take another step back. UCF is an OK team, but certainly not a Contender.

I'm certainly not a Colorado fan, but making the jump from the loaded Pac 12 to a not so loaded Big 12....I could see them being "Contenders" assuming they got their O-line fixed.

This is hilarious. "Loaded Pac 12" C'mon man. 😂😂 Arizona took 3rd in that league and CUs biggest win of the season was vs a rebuilding TCU team that finished 10th in the big12. The pac12 was definitely not "Loaded" and there is simply NO WAY Colorado can be called "Contenders". Baylor, TT, and Cincinnati are the only games they have a shot to be favorites in. If CU loses to Baylor Prime will officially be on the hot seat.

The average Big12 > average Pac12 in nearly every metric (especially head to head OOC and bowls). Colorado will sit with 7-8 wins but miss the title game.
