This is the first episode in this series, where I'll have special guest judges in my stream come on and discuss any topic on hand! For the first podcast we're doing, we're covering the concept of meta and off meta classes, then delved into dpm vs burst, etc.
This is the very first episode, and this was a direct rip from my stream. I have no clue how to setup proper podcasts, and this was mainly done just to get the foot in the door and to start off the series.
I would love to hear feedback to improve the quality of these podcasts! Comment below if you have any suggestions for the UI, any volume changes, topic ideas, whom to bring as guest speakers, etc! Any feedback and criticism for future podcasts going forward would be greatly appreciated!
Just as a note we're pretty unhinged sometimes. We'll say out of pocket shit, but we'll try to keep discussion mainly constructive and serious.

That bishop story towards the end happened to me too. Two of my Nkalos parties boomed because the bishop didn't feel like playing that day and I was a Cadena so it can happen to anyone.

Will mechanics are what is holding my nightwalker back. I'm 274 level, 33m cpm, 4kfrags, 9k legion, and 4 6th job classes, and I haven't never cleared a single nWill.
Playing dawn warrior makes me feel sad cuz its really bad now but this videos really puts into perspective the diff classes and difficulties
As a fellow DW main, our class isn't BAD, but it definitely isn't the giant that it used to be. It's prob middling after dreamer and getting essentially nothing from 2nd mastery and the fact that our origin is terrible. Good thing out class has good perception so we get into parties anyways.

@@fsfs2778 2nd mastery? What 2nd mastery I’m pretty sure we got left out of the patch notes or smth. Surely we get cosmic burst and not some random farming skill or something stupid like that right?

Really cool idea a maplestory podcast to listen to now and again while grinding is a great idea, some constructive criticism, a discord icon with each persons name that lights up when they talk as it's hard to tell whos talking or remember who he is as me and probably others have never heard you guys, and getting rid of really distracting background noise like the keyboard

Don't forget Nexon nerfing older bosses. The struggles from the older versions were even more difficult on chip or consistent dpm 😅

This is kinda what you sign up for when picking a dpm class, I don't think it's possible to design a boss in a way that would favor dpm over burst without it just being really bland. Many dpm classes slightly counter this by having really good full rotation damage, and another thing Nexon can do is give every dpm class some support like shad with it's smokescreen.
The 2 problems with this is how dpm classes don't actually have higher full rotations, they're usually at best equal and unfortunately the biggest problem is they get discriminated far more than they should even if they're over qualified
@@Xerhu I meant full rotation on a dummy (which is unrealistic in real boss scenario obviously), and yeah the discrimination is real
@@CDLightt even on a full rotation on a dummy DPM classes dont beat out classes like NW or Merc.
@@ryanhoang1123if we see xlotus solo clears in kms, it’s the classes that can constantly dish out damage while simultaneously dodging attacks that are more successful. Any downtime in damage output will be hard to get the clear.
Yeah giving the dpm class some type of support/utility seems like a good idea

Slime is a well designed boss in terms of where you start fighting nSlime for "there are other mechanics outside of just hit it" but I completely agree for cSlime it all feels unnecessary

It is not easier to output all your damage as a burst class vs a dpm. Are you really going to tell me, its harder to output all your damage as a bowmaster jerking off in the corner in darknell, vs a hero that actually has to play the darknell patterns?
The majority of dps classes have tools that allow them to survive and deal damage to bosses much better than burst classes. Night lord is the a rare exception, they are one of the few burst classes that can burst and jerk off in the corner and not have to learn any patterns.

Bruh i play corsair and most of these maplestory tier lists are like "i got no idea what this class does or like no one plays this, but good mobbing, b tier" and then Sol Janus is coming out this patch. Hopefully brain scrambler hexa boost 🙏🙏🙏
I regret making a lara, even loving playing the class. I should just have made a bishop and settled lol. Playing in reboot is sad too because rerolling a class is not a good ideia.
Sad you didn't stay with Lara. I am lara main and I love it. Play the class you love.

Podcast about maplestory is cool and I like the topic and depth, however, for some improvements I feel like someone needs to at least try to play devils advocate. I’m about 25 minutes in and I don’t think there’s been 1 attempt to make 2 minute classes sound positive.
Like being able to burst 3 times instead of 2 in Seren before dawn is a positive but you made it into a negative…
Because it is a negative. Its not possible to play 2min in extreme Seren, which puts a massive advantage to 3 min parties.

Yeah this feels like a very 1 sided podcast. Like seren is legit better for 2min as every phase but midnight is about 2min and 10seconds. But they just write off being able to burst 3 times before Dawn b/c anti-cheat…
Not saying 3 mins don’t have more advantages but you should give credit where credit is due.

Bishop is not that good
it really is that good though ^^
Name 1 late or endgame player that has ever said this
you dont even need to be late game. Bishop is above average from the start and only scales as you gain legion and gear. By the time you hit full 17 2L stat bishop is prob better in solo than the other explorer mages let alone in a party
yeah i preferred knight over bishop as well
