I had to complete the project and Tint my 2022 Tesla Model Y all around. Tinting the windshield definitely gives it a more aggressive look while also protecting the vehicle and the passengers. What do you think?

@@cruzer2727 it makes a huge difference. With the weather getting worse there’s no better upgrade health wise. I was baking before but 70 and 50 % have about to same heat rejection.
I was told that the front windshield on the Tesla is already 70% so adding another 70% really doesn’t do much. You need to do at least a 50% to block the UV rays.

Man, I appreciate this video. I have 20% on the front sides as well and was thinking of tinting the windshield to cut some of the light coming through. 20% just isn't as dark as I was hoping. I'm between either 55% or 70% for the windshield.
No problem at all. I’m glad it was helpful. Yea 50% on the windshield is perfection to me. Not to dark and not to light. You’ll love the darker windshield

stumbled across this video.. cause you know YT knows me. I just dropped off my MYP and got the 50% instead of 70% tint. Love seeing your comparison of before and after. I wish there was a 60% as that would be more my speed as 70% was like nothing in another video I saw.

The roof already has heat rejection and 50% doesn't seem dark at all, I went 35% and it was perfect

Here in Australia (well Qld Australia) we can't legally get the windshield tinted. If we could this is something I think we would want done for the reasons you stated. Yours looks awesome, now you just need to get the lights tinted.

Thanks so much. Yes we added 50% to the sunroof as well. That tint has heat rejection properties too.
States differ on windshield tint. For example: here in Georgia no tint is allowed and possible fine of up to $1,000. There are medical exemptions.
What timing! I just had my 2 front side windows tinted. Not sure of the % but they pretty much match the back windows. I thought the same thing about the front wind screen. What would it look like tinted? Now I know.
Just ordered a cover for the top window to block some of the sun overhead. If I decide to get anything else tinted I’ll go where you went since I’m in Orange County too.

The tint has been great so far, no issues at all. And it’s surprisingly really well at night.
Great info. Do you use a special windshield washer fluid? I was surprised how fast the fluid ran out of my model Y. I know Tesla recommends a non-VOC/anti-bug/freeze fluid but can’t find a recommended brand. Thanks for any help.

Do the tints improve heat rejection on the roof, considering heat protection comes with the standard glass roof.
Yes it does, but I’d recommend a shade. Especially here in a California summer
Seems dangerous unless you only drive during the day in good weather. Looks cool though. At least he didn’t cover the cameras. I want to do the glass roof in mine to reduce heat. It would be cool if it would be possible to have a removable tint for night driving.

@@TessiVybzalso, I drive at night out in the wilderness. I need to be able to see well to prevent hitting deer, potholes etc. I can’t justify looking cool if I would reduce my night vision. There is a partial solution for me: wear my sunglasses! Not as good for blocking the suns heat though. I definitely want to do the heat blocking tint the roof though. Thanks!
no this is not bad at all. i ran 35% for a while and it was great, just went 20%. 35% is the lowest you can go safely. 20% is risky and bad in low lighting

I have my repo truck 50% in the front windshield and 5% on all the other windows that s*** is dark as f*** at night sometimes I have to put the high beams on
Yeah well definitely help with heat reduction but if you was ever to get in a car accident and cause serious damage you'll be held liable because they going to determine you lack visibility

I have a 22 MYP - same color. Only question is, how is the visibility? It seems like it would be fine during the day but what about at night?
It’s perfectly fine at night. Haven’t had any issues at all. I almost went with 40%… now that would have been too dark for sure

Been planning to tint my Model Y.. just keep in mind that visibility can be subjective. Others see better at night than some even with tint on.

The lower the number the darker the tint. 50% is not darker than 35%.

Yeah it is…buddy playing with fire at 50%….70% would’ve been the safer choice. Law enforcement just want to be able to see your face when approaching you. They don’t care about it being tinted.

I had the top part of my windshield tinted. Got pulled over for speeding, the officer said that the tint went down to far. There is a marking on the windshield AS1 line. Nothing is suppose to go below that line. He let me go with a warning.
