always recommend the paint is POLISHED before ceramic coating! I dont care if the car is brand new from the factory since the car has to be transported and moved across the country or county. Polishing removes the top layer of clear and coat and removes paint imperfections such as swirls, marring, oxidations, etc. I have applied ceramic coatings and when customers ask to get ceramic coating applied with polishing, the coating usually fails after 6 months and is a waste of 100s of dollars and then they come back to me to have it reapplied by polishing and then ceramic coating Also the 3-5 year claim is with proper maintence. pH neutral soap, constant toppers, no automatic car washes, hand wash only, no neglected cars. Ceramic coatings are for those who want to properly maintain their car themselves and make their live easier.

@@djkim23 HAHA yeah thats so CRAZY!!
Can the car be driven within the two days of applying or does it have to be put?
You can drive it but your best to leave it there to cure
I have EXPEL PPF. I’ve had good results with the self-healing properties applying warm water and then rubbing the PPF. Does the ceramic coat affect the self-healing ability of the PPF?
I am not sure it would impact the self healing qualities of the film.
I'm hoping to take delivery of my model Y LR at the end of December in Indy. Do you have yours washed at a place like crew carwash or do you wash yours by hand?
Crew Carwash! But I have PPF and ceramic so not worried one bit
I attempted to place an order using your link, but description said “for model Y.” Why does it list a Tesla model? Any reason why I can’t use it on a model S?
It might just be reference to his model Y in the car, ceramic coating is used on all cars, no specific type for a certain model car
Its just listed under the Model Y options, its the same for all 4 cars, nothing different.
Amazon has this advanced polish kit by Adams brand that promises upto 9+ years of protection. Is it worth buying?
I don’t know about that brand
Great Video!!! Indeed watch your video too late. Already spent 700 dollars for the ceramic coating for one coat :-( BTW if I use other brand name's coating, can I apply any ceramic spray sealant between wash. any recommendation from Amazon? and duration 3 months or shorter? Thanks again :-D
Yes, top coat maintenance sprays are compatible across all the coatings
Finally ordered this. Did you wash the sponge before too coat or just rinse it off after first coat?
It comes with 2 pads.
As you mention the high price for ceramic coating is the paint correction
Do we have to install the PPF first before the ceramic coat?
Yes, unless you are not doing PPF then apply right to the paint
can you ceramic coat windows after they have been tinted?
Great vid! Is the kit specifically for tesla, or can this be applied to other OEMs?
All cars
@@BeardedTeslaGuy good to know! Thank you :)
Can I apply the ceramic coat to the headlights, taillights, door handles and side mirrors too?
Yes indeed
Thanks very much! I appreciate your prompt response. More power to your channel 👍🏼
how does ceramic coating work with white stealth ppf? i like the stealth, not so flossy look so will this add more floss/shine to it?
It technically does, but it’s not in a way that makes it look glossy when looking at the car. It will help with keeping the car clean as bugs and grime won’t stick as well vs without
how about the trims which are satin finish like the door handles, cameras etc, did it changed the finish to glossy?
It does not change the finish. It does protect it from harsh chemicals found in some car wash soaps though
Hi, great video, would definitely like to do this for my new 3LR when it arrives. What is the product you are applying, and can I purchase it at my local auto parts supplies? Also, what is PPF?
Link in description
@@BeardedTeslaGuy hey man stupid question but you didn't do the windows and top right?
The climate bill was just passed today, Any changes to EV tax credits? When is the update? Or am i not following this correctly thanks
Update is live
Can you use electrical buffer?
Probably, just go lightly
When applied to the windshield, does the ceramic coat have as good a water repellant effect as a specialty hydrophobic product?
Yes. Ceramic is hydrophobic
Page to buy the material is not loading for some reason.
Give it another try. Every once in a while it’s doing maintenance
I didn't read all the comments, but can you drive your car between applications?
Yes but you’d have to clean the car again before the top coat
Thank you BTG, HAD A QUESTION ❓ DO YOU RECOMMEND THE CERAMIC COATING OVER THE PPF OR BOTH?
It goes over PPF, you cannot apply PPF to a car that has ceramic already applied.
when i clik on the product link, it says ceramic sealant no longer comes with the kit - is this necessary?
do you even see it on the website to purchase separately? bc i dont see it thanks
also do you need to wear a respirator while applying?
The thing that doesn’t come with it is not shown in the video. I haven’t used it ever. You don’t have to wear a respirator to my knowledge.
Hey, love the videos but just a heads up that you misspelled “Install” on the thumbnail for the video
Ha, nice. Gotta love being on vacation
Did you apply the ceramic coat over the camera lens also?
Yes
Just curious did you think of doing graphene instead of ceramic? Graphene is less likely to have water spots and longer durability.
No I didn’t consider
Can you use this product on a model 3? Thanks BTG
100%
Do you coat the windows?
Yes
Is there a new video of you applying the ppf?
Yes
How do you know if your car needs to be clay barred??
Put your hand in a zip lock bag and run it across the paint. You’ll feel a ton of stuff if it needs to be clay bared
BTG, did you use it on windows and windshield as well?
yes, you can apply to your windows
can you apply on glass too?
Yes
Love your videos. Is PPF the same as ceramic coating?
no, they are 2 different things.
Can this be used on a Volvo too.? Or in other words, maybe a not a premium version of coat and just a regular coat.
I have a wax coat from dealer currently who said it’s free for next 6 months. Not sure if I have to use this ceramic now or later.
Yes of course
Don’t put a ceramic coat over top of the wax though
would you recommend random orbital tool?
I would do this job by hand
PPF first or ceramic coat first, thanks!
PPF
I’m pretty confident to ceramic my same color model Y myself rather than spending thousands on someone else to do it. Thanks for the confidence and sharing your thoughts ☺️
Yea, its a total joke having a shop do it.
@@BeardedTeslaGuy yes, DIY ceramic coating is not exactly hard labor. Put on some tunes, or a ball game, and just get started.
is this okay to apply to front windshield?
Yes
Do you apply on the lights too? Thank you!
You sure can
What kind of cloth should I use to wash or wipe away any dirt without messing up and scratching the paint?
Microfiber
Hi. Thanks for bringing such good content. Appreciate it. Big fan of your channel. After watching your videos, I was inspired to speak to car buyer USA guys to sell my model 3 2019 model w/ 20k miles on it. They offered me 42k and wanted to pick my tesla before the lein holder confirms receipt of payment, which is a clear Red flag for me.
What if Car Buyer USA payment never makes it to the lien holder bank or if thier transaction is disputed or canceled?
Have you or, someone you know sold their tesla to them? If so, how was the experience? Are they legit?
Cheers
Thanks for the vid and the links.
Welcome!
Will this work for the rims too?
Yes of course
How many days did u dedicate for coating your model y
2 days, and on the morning of the 3rd day I put the top coat on
@@BeardedTeslaGuy thanks! Bought thr product with your coupon code. Looking forward to this project!
Will this work on windshields?
Yes
