I almost never watch your videos immidiately, because I always feel that I need to wait for the right time to enjoy it the way I want. You're like a box of choclates to me, haha - every minute is precious. Thank you for this, it makes my daily life also a little bit more special :)) And congrats for taking a step towards finishing uni! Such decisions are always though. Everything good to you ❤
50 years later… I can finally let go of the guilt I experience when I don’t finish a book I started. Thanks to you dear Nina, now I will casually shrug and say, I DNF’d it 😂❤
Thank god for you Nina! I'm autistic and also deal with mental health stuff so it's so relieving to hear about your experience taking care of yourself around your neurodivergence and depression xx
One more course! Woohoooo!!! I empathize with “the oldest one in the class”, that has been me for a lot of my education. Congrats and props for returning, and asking the Uni if you could complete and navigating that world. It can be daunting! Hope you enjoy this last course - I always found being a “mature” student that I was more invested in learning than when I was in my early twenties.
I'm also 30 and back in college. Definitely amongst a different generation! 😂 congrats on finding a way to get it done! I'm visiting Sydney next month for 3 weeks and can't wait! Thanks for sharing some sweet snippets!
really recommend the wayfarers series by becky chambers for some fun optimistic sci-fi, also the dispossessed by ms leguin is possibly my favourite book of all time!
I've also been toying with the idea of finishing my degree (I only have like one or two semesters left lol). Ironically, I was always the youngest in my classes and now I'd be the oldest 😐 Thanks for the encouragement!
Loved the book recs and so good to catch up with your days again! And as an aside, after seeing the stripey blue cardigan you were wearing, the royal blue suits you SO well.
hi nina! i'm sure you have plenty of book recommendations but if you're still feeling a need for sci-fi, i would HIGHLY recommend the Remembrance of Earth's Past trilogy by Cixin Liu. i'd say it's a medium pace, with lots of mystery/plot twists that keeps you guessing and makes it hard to put down (especially the first book, The Three Body Problem). it's truly unlike anything else i've read (and surely better than old 80s white men sci-fi) also - congrats on going back to uni! love your videos always 💗💗
This is the sign!! I was recommended this series a little while ago, my friend was saying it was fantastic. Thank you for the rec, I LOVE getting them. I’ll have a look at the library 💗
I feel like we're going through a similar reading phase atm because I'm about 100 pages into "All the lovers in the night" as well. I'm also not really a sci-fi reader either but just finished reading "Exhalation" by Ted Chiang and really enjoyed it. Really lovely to see your presence here again Nina 🌹
If you want 'hectic scifi' I loved Sea of Tranquility by Emily St. John Mandel :) this was my first scifi I enjoyed!!! alsoooo i'm now on the same page about putting books down, I used to punish myself for not finishing but I agree with the stance that there's so many books out there I want to read, I don't want to waste time reading those I dont
Ursula LeGuin is my favourite author of all time, I'm always so happy when I hear someone is reading her! You might enjoy To Be Taught if Fortunate by Becky Chambers, if you want some very human, hopeful, queer science fiction.
I haven’t no! I might’ve mentioned it here and there. I wish I had gotten a diagnosis earlier, so I always recommend doing that as soon as you feel an inkling 🧡
I literally smiled so much when I heard "I will see you very very soon" :) It's so nice to see you quite regularly these days Nina!

Massive patience to knead the dough there!

I love all the book recommendations. Open Water has been my favorite that you’ve mentioned so far 😊
I really feel that about people trying to get me into sci-fi 😂 Octavia Butler also did it for me
love your weekly notes !
Thank you Barbara!! 🧡 I really enjoy making them :)
hello Nina! I wanted to ask what kind of product you use for your skin? It's beautiful!
Hello! Hope you are doing well, Nina!
Lovely video! 😊
My sci-fi recommendation is The Sparrow by Mary Doris Russell. It’s slow, with beautiful writing (and aliens!!!).
ALIENS!! It’s what I wanted and didn’t get!! I shall add it to the list 💚 thankuuuuu
I love ursula k Lewin and octavia Buttler, you and everyone should read the essay of Ursula called “the carrier bag theory of fiction” it is SO good.
Puedes hacer un video de como perderle miedo a hornear? Nunca hago pan o cosas que necesitan levadura porque me da miedo 😅
You should read "He, she and it" by Marge Piercy! It's a great novel, I loved it :)
Which matcha powder do you use?
Where are your necklaces from?

SCIFI rec: the wayfarers series by becky chambers, each book feels taking a warm bath.
Sad you removed so many of your old videos. I’ve been following you since the very begging and it’s sad to see you’ve removed so many of them.
I didn’t know you had ADHD! I suspect that I might have one too. Have you ever made a video about it? Love your content, ok bye 🙃
I haven’t no! I might’ve mentioned it here and there. I wish I had gotten a diagnosis earlier, so I always recommend doing that as soon as you feel an inkling 🧡
Wool by Hugh Howey is a good one if you want mysteries solved :)
Please please please read The Long Way To A Small Angry Planet.❤ It is the best, queer, wholesome, wonderful Hopepunk. ❤
Check out Becky chambers for character-driven sci-fi! All her books are so so amazing
Anne McCaffrey Drangonsong series…female protagonist, very positive and engaging.
Uuu I’ll look into it! Thank you!! 💗
whats your degree in?
I had to change from marine science to a biology major in order to be able finish it online 💚
i would recommend walkaway since you're in a scifi mood and looking for more diverse reads :)
always a delight to see you pop up here, Nina
