Thank for this post. I will be watching this but it will take a couple of days. One suggestion. If you can add "chapters" so we can search through all this amazing content,
Regarding the pumpkin pie, in the early 1980's I was experimenting with the whole pumpkin to make my own filling instead of the store boughten stuff. The pioneer in me I suppose. Then the Little House on the Prairie came out with a Cookbook and I used that recipe for a really long time, 30 plus years... I'm going to try the one with the molasses and no nutmeg...
It's going to be so hard to be thankful, luckily I have my babies (my cat and dog) but it's just so sad. I'm so sad, and lost, and scared. Thank you for the distraction.
There is nothing more cozy in fall than watching a Townsends video. And a 3 hour thanksgiving marathon at that! I love to escape to the past for a little while and have really enjoyed your channel over the last couple years. Thank you!
Used to put the turkey in a paper grocery bag and tear the bag open at the end of cook time to let it brown. Can do the same thing with chicken. Now a days they use roasting bags made of plastic.
@@rexman971 Of course!! ☺️ Have you ever tried a casserole? They’re so easy and delicious. You can do ground turkey with sweet potatoes and cranberry sauce. It’s amazing!! 🤩 I make casseroles all the time, and they never come out bad! So long as you combine good ingredients that go well together, it’s always a win!
@ Oh my gosh, I’ve got to make Shepherd’s Pie!!! Yeah, go for it!! Put some happy music on and have fun!! Oh, you might enjoy Tavern Ambience videos on YT while you cook! ☺️
💛...time to run my marathon...just curious...your turkey appears to be a domestic bird...is it possible to acquire/hunt a wild one?...and, how would preparation differ?...taste differ?...anyone?...thanks...btw, there have been increasing numbers of flocks in rural and suburban areas around here (sacramento valley), so harvesting would be a possibility...
One thing that drives me batty is how people jump straight from Halloween, straight to Christmas. I love what I consider a Thanksgiving program.
I decorate for Thanksgiving and love Thanksgiving time ... I will decorate for Christmas the week after Turkey Day ...
Blaim retail. They make more money off Christmas junk than they do fall decor / tablewear.
It's even worse in Canada since our Thanksgiving is in Oct there's no buffer lol
It doesn't matter what time period, a good cook is a blessing.
Truth 👏
I probably won't watch much of this today, but thank you so much for posting it today.
With the week I’m having, this is a breath of fresh air.
Love how cozy this channel is. Feels like a Disney sleepy hollow vibe all the time.

I love that! 🥰
Ah, he had a way with the yarn, did old Townsend...
I love Jon's continued encouragement to make your own pie crust. I haven't mastered it yet, but Jon thinks I will.
I absolutely love this show---I saw the thumbnail and knew that this episode is going to be fire!

In Brazil it is called Peru and not turkey.
Any dessert tips for 1815 Christmas Dinner for the 79th Cameron highlanders?
Little to be thankful for today.
You're gonna do nothing about it too, you're gonna do NOTHING
Why'd John get the small turkey?
Cool :)
501st Like of the show.
Im a terrible cook, but maybe I'll attempt one of these to bring to Thanksgiving dinner this year!
You can do it!!! Don’t be afraid to mess up and fail. Even Julia Child made mistakes on a regular basis. 😊
@PeaceIsYeshua Thank you :)

@@PeaceIsYeshua No, but that does sound pretty simple. My Mom makes Sheppards pie occasionally. I'll see what I can create!
