I love your videos sooo much! ❤ Please don’t ever stop posting. You’re hands-down my favourite content creator; it’s not easy to find someone who’s down to earth, in my age range, into writing/art/baking… I can’t even tell you how calming your videos are, the sense of peace and wellbeing they bring me. ☺️ Also, your copper hair is my favourite thing ever.
Nooo Nina, your food videos always inspired me - not so much for what to eat, but seeing your creative soul, expressed through food. Thank you for all you’ve shared
Totally understand your ambivalence around sharing your meals and what you eat on camera and fully support your decision to not post anymore daily food diaries. I do also think that you should be proud of the beautiful content you’ve created in the past. I for one love your previous “what I eat in a day” videos! I have a special playlist of them :). Please don’t delete or privatize them
Just wanted to say how much I'm enjoying these "weekly notes" style videos - for me they have all the things I love about your channel: beautiful images, things that are on your mind, books you're reading, and some food. If you never made any other kind of video, I would still watch every one of them.
As someone with ED tendencies for a long time, I feel that, in my case is in fact helpful to be really aware of what I'm eating. Intuitive eating would never work for me except for the times I'm well rested and zero anxious. Love your work, Nina.
I love the what I eat in a days because I dont judge anyone I just see them for inspiration. But I understand the pressure you feel. Eating cereal for dinner is normal! We all have our days!!!
I know I'm just one person, but I wanted to tell you how much I've gotten out of your videos all these years. I find your meal/food content really inspirational. I'm not even vegan and I like to see what you create with whole foods. It gives me new ideas for what I can create. The only problem is that were in different hemispheres so when you're cooking with all these fresh fruits and veg I'm looking out at the snow. I've never gotten an icky diet culture vibe from your videos, never. I like to save your videos and watch them when I'm in a good place and want to chill with Nina for a couple of minutes. You're doing great, keep doing what's best for you! ❤
Hi Nina 😊 I just had to write and say that your food videos were the opposite of negative for me - they were sooo incredibly positive!! Seeing you cook beautiful, colourful, vibrant and creative meals inspired me in the best way - to cook meals that bring me sooo much joy and satisfy my soul as well as my tummy! You introduced me years ago to foods that I adore and enjoy regularly (tahini, buckwheat noodles, nutritional yeast, sauerkraut - just to name a few!!). And I can happily say that I’ve never had such a wonderful, joyful relationship with food. Thank you ❤️ Absolutely loving these weekly notes videos and seeing snippets of your life and foods without it being so much pressure on you. Your videos are so uniquely you. None of us want perfection - it’s a privilege to watch your reality 💖
For the last year I have been baking one loaf of bread and a cookie tray once a week and it has been so beneficial to me! The joy of having created something enabled me to enjoy these foods and see them as nourishment instead of thinking about them in terms of calories
I’ve been loving your content creation of the last couple years! The anti-diet culture talk has been very healing for me as a person in long-term ED recovery. I’m also loving watching your writing ✍️ process 😄
I have lost track of how many years I have delighted in your videos. I have never once been made to feel bad about anything you have posted. Even when our habits have differed, you present them with such gentleness and grace, always verbalizing how differently everything is for everyone. I will continue to enjoy your wonderful content, regardless of what it may look like. xx
The opposite, your videos have helped me to get more intuitive about eating and normalized eating everything, romanticized food at times in a beautiful but also simple way.
Your WIEIAD sparked my creativity, please don’t stop sharing recipes. Love your banana bread recipes and I started to eat cereal with fruit due to your videos. Will always continue to watch u and thanks for being honest
Ahhh Nina, thank you for being open about your relationship with food. I'm positive I'm not the only one who needed to hear you and relate. It is an incredible struggle to heal how food is perceived as reward, worth or lack there of during an ED and post ED. And it IS so easy to dip back into those tendencies, which can feel very internalized, permanent and lonely. You are doing great and I appreciate you ❤
There is something deep in my memory that sparks when I hear the noise of an Australian morning, the birds and background sounds agh I miss it! I grew up in Australia and I am now living in Europe. Nothing hits the same, fresh, early relaxing mornings ❤
ninnnaaaa 2:25 literally experienced this. my sentiments exactly. it really put a strain on my relationship with food, myself, and just creating in general. and it kind of felt like I was making WIEAD vids because I HAD to. hence, the reason why I'm on a little YT break until further notice at this point. butttt, I am LOVING the weekly notes/vlogs. look forward to them every week.
I'm fascinated by how this hair color suits your face and adds some kind of magical vibe. And it's fun to watch your short video notes from the day. Love it!
I understand your decision to not make what i eat in a day videos and love any video you make , for what it’s worth , those videos never made me feel bad about myself , it was inspiring and gave me ideas of meals and cooking and what not ❤you are an awesome human !
Sending love, Nina! 💛 for what it's worth your food videos were always a happy place for me :) appreciate your reasoning for not continuing to make them, and will always enjoy your other content too!
Your videos always inspired me to eat more and different things than what I had been eating at the time. They also inspired me to attempt veganism. I used to work an insanely stressful job, and lost all ability to feel hunger. It took a long time to regain my hunger (and had to switch jobs), but your videos always felt like a way back to that. To being excited about food again. I love this 'new direction', I love hearing about your week, and your joy, and your writing. If you want to keep sharing, I will keep showing up here. But no pressure!
hello nina :) just feel like saying, you arent responsible for how others feel/react to the content of your videos, you are just sharing what you want to share and it is not your fault about what reactions it causes in others! you are free to make 'mistakes', and do whatever you want to do and share whatever you want to share. peoples triggers to things are their own responsibility, although i understand its hard when people dont see it that way. also about the feeling sad about having wasted so much time worrying about food, i have had a similar past too. but i believe now there is no such thing as a waste of time. we had to go through things to grow. often we had to go through things repeatedly before we begin to grow. and it seems like we could have done things faster. but really, we couldnt. trust the flow and the timing of life. btw this comment is every bit directed to myself as it is to you haha. lots of love
I know you won’t make them anymore but I loooved your food videos. It was inspiration for me to see how I can be creative with what I have. But you do what’s best for you.
I appreciate you so much! Been watching you for so many years and I really love your progress and that you talk about it openly (as opposed to many ytubers who lean into trends and don't question them bc they do really well in terms of views etc etc). I feel like i'm growing up and changing with you, so thanks for being so open and honest
Started my morning watching you and was then inspired to bake some banana chocolate muffins to have with my coffee. Thank you for sharing your thoughts as always. I really empathize with those moments of cognitive dissonance you described. Sending you my gratitude and compassion 💌
i've recently come across your vlogs and they bring a lot of comfort! love the way you created notes for How to Do Nothing! i recently read Odell's Saving Time and i think the way you take notes has completely changed the way i see note-taking. thank you for such a wonderful video!
i am so happy you’ve reached that insight. sounds really wise. look forward to see what you share in the future, foodrelated or not. have grown to love your videos
thank you so much for creating content. I hope that you always find the balance that you hope to find, while also knowing that, to me, your videos always feel like a warm hug, a slice of joy, or a connection to peace. I find a connection with your content that is unmatched and am truly grateful for the time and energy you have taken to produce.
The first song in this video, love it! Can't find it in your playlist though. Your videos are really relaxing, still making your chickpea/bean soup/stew with the whole garlic in there. Delish!😎
if you like podcasts at all i’d highly highly recommend Maintenance Phase, it gets into all the weirdness of diet and “wellness” culture, the hosts chat about a lot of similar ideas to how you may be feeling! also just SO interesting to learn about
nina! thank you so much for sitting down and talking about your thoughts on the what i eat in a day videos. i've been a long time watcher of your videos, and although i really liked those types of videos you put out for inspiration (i love how many colors you try to incorporate in meals in particular), i couldn't help but wonder what goes on in your head in the process. there's just so many influences out there telling us what we should or shouldn't eat, it's so much !pressure!
Nina, your videos are always so healing for me! I'm going to start taking notes about everything I read like how you did in this video - the idea of having songs, quotes, related podcasts, thoughts etc. in a visual place like that is so inspiring. thank you
Amo tu vibra. Gracias por esto ❤
Hey Nina , i wanted to thank you , you (together with two other youtubers) have played a crucial role in my ed recovery. I was able to heal my relationship with food and be intentional, intuitive, caring and loving with my body , not only have i recovered, i actually love my body and care for it . Not thinking about food has freed up so much mental energy for me to start living a fuller life and to enjoy it for the first time in years. I really want you to know how big of a role model and an inspiration you are to me , i absolutely admire your whole essence and character.
About how your videos make me feel , i thing one of the things that make me truly inspired , is you cooking , it had become my love language as in for others but also my self care , seeing you making cinnabuns or bagels ..just makes me so exited about food and cooking))) but i wouldn't want your relationship with food to suffer for us ))
Your last two newsletters were incredible, I got to read them in bed after waking up early and wow, you're incredibly gifted. They reminded me a little but of my favorite author, Kate Christensen, her The Epicure's Lament is one of my favorite books of all time.
The little things of everyday life that you show are so charming, the way you depict the "daily" is charming actually. And I really loved what you said about relationship with food. I use Milanote everyday! It's fantastic, It helps me basically with everything, in planning my work, my study, my books, making my own visual board...beautiful... I love it
Thank you so much for your videos! I really appreciated your reflections on filming what I eat in a days and hyper awareness. I love how your videos always help me find joy, peace and beauty in the simple things. It makes perfect sense that your content evolves over time. Keep taking good care of yourself and thank you for sharing your journey and inspiring me to say f you to diet culture and be a happier and more fulfilled human :)
I am in my late 40's in my early teen years had a eating disorder till my 30's but now I try to enjoy my food but I do see my self worry about how much I eat so to say this is a battle but I love your videos and talks on eating disorder and ur positive energy
