What I never noticed before was that at the beginning of the song he was serious. He was completely focused on getting it right, then when he started the harder part he smiled. That smile is one of pure joy of enjoying the music you play. It is the most powerful feeling to have in the music world.
Truly a great anime.

Everyone's talking about Kousei's playing but noone was paying attention to the girl... the left hand changes a bit from the original in the 1st variation AND the girl was keeping up with Kousei's playing

I had that scene recently. So last month my friend came to our house, then he saw the digital piano at our home and asked me to play a song. I've never heard the song, I thought, so I just guessed most of the first verse, then before the chorus, I instantly remembered how the chorus goes because the chorus felt really familiar but I didn't bother remembering the whole song, so I threw a bunch of 7th chords and glissandos on the song lol. And he was just like "holy fuck".
Since it's april, I will rewatch and suffer again watching this anime.

As far as I can remember this was the first scene or we first saw Kousei play piano again and as expected he was excellent, the reaction of the kids and people in the surroundings was priceless. All in all I just loved this scene and this anime. I will never forget such masterpiece until my very end.😊❤️
