'All Missile Technology Is Indigenous; India Self-reliant In Radars'

- India's quest for achieving self-reliance in defence as envisioned by Prime Minister Modi is progressing apace and an enabling ecosystem, especially for developing cutting edge technology, is in place, says Dr G. Satheesh Reddy, scientific adviser to the defence minister and former chairperson of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). Both the private industry and academia have measured up to the challenge, Dr Reddy told Bharat Shakti Editor-in-Chief Nitin A. Gokhale in an exclusive interview. As of now, there are 300-400 industries working only on missile technology; there's confidence among MSMEs that if they invest in technology and produce innovative products, there will be takers, he added. PM Modi has really moved the defense industry forward by leaps and bounds. Along with the defense, other technologies have also advanced and India can compete with anyone technically. Thanks to Modi. Hope he gets reelected so that he can continue to move India forward. I am glad that this program was done in English so that everyone could understand.
India should focus more on developing indigenous Engines for Tank, Helicopter, Aircraft etc. Gov of India needs to allocate more R&D budget for DRDO to become self reliant on engine manufacturing capabilities

@@anuragrajasingh But the previous congress government was so scared of scandals that they were not approving any new defense projects. LCA etc were getting delayed. Modi has brought a new sense of purpose and vision to all these endeavors.

Why we can't make our own LR SAM instead of S400. We need to dominate Pakistani airspace completely. Anti Ballistic system also need to be developed. We need to be leading nation in this technology. Its non negotiable.
India needs to be an infrastructure superpower and build 24/7, day and night on a war footing.
Build bridges, roads, highways, airports, railway, railway stations, tunnels, waterfront embankments, riverfront embankments, canals, water transports, universities, high schools, hospitals, startups, many cities, and decolonize India.

Whenever we develop new equipment and while testing the same there may be failures, loss of public money and life. After the failure, there will be enquiries to fix responsibility for the failure. This was the system followed by the previous Governments. The result was that people were afraid of venturing into research and development. But Modi Ji has said that I accept failures. This is the turning point of DRDO and ISRO.

Yes, Indian missiles are fully indigenous including seekers used. Development of Radars were taken lot of help from Israelis but now all Radars are indigenously developed

Why is India still importing missiles from other countries?
Because the missiles developed by DRDO are not as capable as the imported ones.
India should adopt Rassian war technique . Developing large numbers of long range missiles to hit USA, now iran has also adopted the same policy .india should also adopt the same Russian policy to develop high tech long range , large numbers of missiles. Indian Army should acuquire capability to fire 1000 missiles perday regularly for 15 days ( 150000) short range to long range missiles during war .
Why do you want to antagonize US and other western countries, especially when we are importing high-tech subsystems such as jet engines etc.? Russia is a rogue dictatorship which is facing the consequences of its actions.
Hi Sir, ISRO should develop a Fighter jet engine like rocket engines. India should not import any fighter jets or Missiles. ISRO should collect all expired satellites from space. ISRO should develop all rockets to self-land after launching the satellites. All tanks should be ingenious as well. India should not import or transfer knowledge deals with any company out of India. Self-sufficient and non-alignment should be the base of India. US / Russia will play or cancel collaboration which has cost 1000 crores which can be avoided. DRDO should be given a free hand in developing Fighter jet engines. Encourage Indian companies in joint development than out of India companies.
India been trying with Kaveri project. Jet engines are very hard. Much much harder than rocket engines because of metallurgical reliabilities. Even China has to import jet engines for their fighter jets and their manufacturing capability is 20 years ahead.
