Malaysian Buddhist celebrate Vesak day (Birth, Enlightenment and Nirvana) on Chinese lunar 15th April, we will have Buddha Bathing ceremony; Chanting, parade; selling vegetarian food; raising Buddhist Flag ceremonies. We will wearing a Buddhist rope on wrist and bought back the flower water for bath. This year is on 26/05/2021 (Buddhist Lunar 15th April of full moon). Vesak is Theravada Buddhist holy day.
Hi Kevin! Thanks for your insight, so interesting! I also saw people performing the Buddha bathing ceremony here, but I haven't heard about the Buddhist flag ceremony yet. So in Malaysia you use flower water for the bathing ceremony, that sounds nice! So that means you're celebrating today, right? In that case: Happy Vesak! :))
@@Victoria_Lee Yes we celebrate today but due to pandemic we unable to go temple ,only can watch online for Wesak day celebrations. Stay home chanting or some Buddhist they have Buddha statue at home they will pray at home and (e- Bathing Buddha; e-Light offering). The flower water had been bathed little Buddha , so we bought back to home to bath. And thanks for the wish.
Hopefully next year you and everybody will be able to celebrate it at the temple again! But it’s nice that there are still e-alternatives for the ceremonies, thanks to the internet ^^ and also that you could take the flower water home!
Great Video! Happy Buddha's Birthday!! Beautiful Temples!! Very Colourful!! Thanks for the Good Informations! Have a Good Day.. Namaste from India :)) God bless you!
Hi Dixon!! Happy Buddhas Birthday! :)) I also think the temples are very beautiful, especially with the current decorations! Thanks a lot for watching and have a nice weekend!! 🤗
Thanks again for taking the time ^^ btw I didn't know that the white lanterns were for the deceased, learned that thanks to your Instastories yesterday ;))
Thank you so much, kochana Halinko ❤️🧡❤️ Yes, I had a day off today and had coffee and cake twice, so for me that’s as good as it gets 😉 Kisses from Seoul 😘
Happy late birthday! Ahh, Shan and I have very fond memories of Buddah's Birthday during our first year. We decided to do an overnight stay at a temple, so we got to walk in the parade as representatives of the temple with all the monks. I miss all the lanterns! ;-;
Hey Chris!! Thanks~~~ That's such a cool idea, I never even considered doing that! At which temple did you stay? Did you also try the temple food? I'd also like to walk in the parade, but it's also quite a trek (especially when it's hot). The lanterns miss you, too! And Seungeon and I, too!! ;_;
Hi Erik! Thank you so much 😊 You noticed! Originally I wanted to explain a few things on location and film a vlog, but I didn't want to disturb the praying people at the temple. :))
@@Victoria_Lee i just realized chris commented basically the same thing before i did lolol the food was delicious and wholesome. it was buffet style and basically components of a veggie bibimbap. at the end, each person was responsible for cleaning their dishes. but mind you, we ate at 5:30am or so.. meal time was after morning prayer. that being said, chris overslept and missed everything!
@@shan7943 Hahaha that way I got both perspectives ;) That sounds delicious, but to be very honest and realistic: I would probably oversleep and miss everything, too. 🙈 Seungeon would just decide to sleep in from the beginning ;)
Ohh this looks so so nice! Thanks for all the information and your research and the really aesthetic footage :) I spent some time in Hong Kong and there I also loved the colorful lanterns, especially during grey days..
