    Hi Victoria!! We love Chuseok! We need to do a better job of celebrating it. We've only done it a couple of times. Very interesting origin stories. The tables with the offering are our favorite part but didn't know all of these details. Very cool. Japche is THE best. haha And Jeon! In our household, Nabol does all the cooking 😂 Feel bad for those women though. Oh no, those are the worst questions. We would also enjoy having the city empty. :-)

      @Victoria_Lee  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Thanks a looot 🧡 We‘re getting there slowly ;)
      Oh I can relate to that! For me it‘s similar with Easter in Korea, no bunny anywhere whatsoever! Did you still celebrate 추석 a bit?! 🍁🧡 Kisses from Seoul! 🍂😘

    • @hyemina
      @hyemina 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      How To Korea oh yeah bunny chocolate is more western style I think! I actually saw bunny chocolate everywhere around Easter day when for the first time, I landed on Australia. Also, I learned Australia doesn’t have thanksgiving day either.😭
      I didn’t celebrate 추석 at all and I just had a PRETTY normal, ordinary WARM day. (The warmer heat is coming.😂😭)

      @Victoria_Lee  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Hi Simona! Hahaha, thanks for noticing, that's why I wore that shirt :D The plant usually lives on the veranda, but I always move it for filming so that the background looks less dead 😂 Thanks a lot and have a cozy Chuseok, too!

    • @lancaricovas
      @lancaricovas 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Oh really?:D thats actually very nice odea to move the plant for filming over there and then move it back so it doesnt go to you way all the time and bother you:D
      I shared your video on my fb too btw :))

    Hi Victoria.. Happy Chuseok! Ganggangsullae, Beautiful Ancient Korean Dance.. 5000 Year old Tradition, that's Great! Korean Traditional Dress is very Elegant :)) Thanks for the History & Information about Chuseok! India.. Yes, there is a Harvest festival in my State Kerala too.. It is known as Onam :)) Here in Kerala, Women Dance on Onam Days. The Dance is called Thiruvathira! Yes Autumn Season is Beautiful.. Thanks for the Video.. Greetings from Kerala :)) God bless!

    • @Victoria_Lee
      @Victoria_Lee  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Hi Dixon! Thank you! Happy Chuseok to you, too :)) Oh you also celebrate a harvest festival in Kerala, that's interesting! It's nice and interesting to see how different cultures have many similar customs and traditions ^^ In Germany people also celebrate a harvest festival, it's called "Erntedankfest" and also "Oktoberfest" in Bavaria which I heard is also popular abroad. Thanks again for watching and greetings from Seoul! Have a nice weekend :))

    Love the info! Songpyeons are some of my favorite foods haha. I've been eating them a lot haha. I've received some of those special fruits and they're pretty perfect tasting but not worth the cost lol. I love persimmons so much!
    Also I heard around 200k people are expected to visit Jeju which sounds so scary!

    • @Victoria_Lee
      @Victoria_Lee  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hi Glen! Yeees, Songpyeon are the best, although I didn't get my hands on any this season (yet)! Ohh you got those gift fruits? From your coworkers? :D It's good to hear that they tasted good! Persimmons here are so good, very different to the persimmons that you'd get in Germany, they are basically solid ^^;
      What?! 200k people are traveling to Jeju? Whoa that's scary, indeed. A friend of mine also went there for the holidays. What I'm afraid of is another potential rally at Gwanghwamun this Sunday. Let's hope there won't be a third outbreak. Thanks for watching and commenting~~~ Happy Chuseok!

    Witaj Victorio, film jest bardzo bardzo bardzo interesujacy! Zdjecia przepiekne! Cala kompozycja i muzyka i Twoj styl - wszystko harmonijnie do siebie pasuje. Na pewno jeszcze pare razy sobie ogladne.
    Jak nazywaja sie te kwiaty na dlugiej lodydze i z platkami kwiatow jak z czerwonej welny? Przepiekne. Bardzo serdecznie Cie pozdrawiam, Malgosia

      Te kwiaty sa przepiekne, prawda? Pierwszy raz je widzialam i bylam bardzo zachwycona. Nazywaja sie "red spider lily" i sa z Chin, Korei i Nepalu.

      @@Victoria_Lee thanksgiving in America is to celebrate the harvest and other blessings. We model our feasts after that of the original settlers from England and the Native American inhabitants. The settlers (pilgrims) originally were giving thanks to the natives for helping them survive by teaching them about food preparation and whatnot. Typical foods now are turkey, cranberry sauce, green bean casserole, and mashed potatoes with gravy.
      My husband is adopted from Korea, so we are trying to incorporate some holidays into our lives so our daughter learns more about the culture. I can see, on a basic level, how Chuseok and Thanksgiving are similar. However, Chuseok is far more complex and cultural!
      Thank you for teaching us how to celebrate!

    • @Victoria_Lee

      Yes! It also means that you can finally stop pretending to be Korean and come out of the closet. ;D Also I'm better at eating spicy food than you 😏🤣

    Actually, traditional Korea Joseon was highly influenced by Confucius. Whatever food, even the leftover of yesterday's dinner is okay. Wasting food/luxury is the considered as bad things during that era. Some may say red things to the East and white things to the West, which is totally wrong. None of Confucius scripture mentioned about it.
