The Bloatfly was intentional, no scaling involved, it's just as strong all the time, it's an entirely optional out of the way fight, and there's some silly lore about feeding the bloatfly insane amounts of drugs and steroids that made it grow that big (on killing it you'll find a ton of buffout on it). It's just a joke, they took the weakest enemy in the game and scaled it up to the strongest for laffs, while there's a few strangely powerful Bloatflies in Fallout 4 like the Black Bloatfly (disturbingly high amonunts of damage and rad damage with fast movement and attack speed, and usually comes in swarms) there's really just the regular variants and that monster in New Vegas. Another joke enemy in the same DLC was a tiny (child-sized) green Deathclaw named Spike, which was also the name of the main Gremlins in the same movie, that tiny deathclaw would jump out of a doghouse and surprise you, and deal as much if not more damage than a regular deathclaw, easily killing you. As I understand from the Godzilla enemy, which I've tried console spawning in, it was meant to be triggered by you killing all of the vanilla Legendary enemies, at which point it would act not unlike the Ebony Warrior in Skyrim, as an optional end-all high level challenge.
First time i found the giant bloatfly, i thought it was just a bloatfly that has higher health than a normal bloatfly, i thought my companion just sucked when he got unconscious, looked at my health and it was one bar.

I'm not even joking when I say this, but some of the high level Aliens from Mothership Zeta are an absolute nightmare. They can melt you in a few shots, and take so much abuse as a result of damage resistance, it's laughable. And unlike the Albino Radscorpion, you have to face several of these at a time. And, the Dart Gun isn't even that effective against them. Easily a contender.
There's that one big hall before a generator where 10's of them horde up against the player, thankfully I was level 27 and had all the good V.A.T.S. perks so I kept mowing them down with their own zappers A lot of "V" pressing happened that day
God, I remember being high enough leveled in Fallout 3 that EVERY Radscorpion I came across was the Albino variant..Got ambushed by 3 of them...didn't last long.
Your list is 100% correct. I remember seeing Deathclaw vs Albino Radscorpion and Deathclaw was murdered in just few seconds by Albino Radscorpion. When you encounter this abomination use your best weapons on this thing.
The first time I encountered one, it hit me once, terrifying, like half my health bar. I crippled it with the dart gun and ran like hell till I found a rock i could climb but it couldn't. Then I hit it with a heavy incinerator for like 20 minutes.
Bottlecap mine with all 3 levels of explosive expert. Two at the most to take out an albino. (Regular difficulty.) And once you build a dart gun, deathclaws have no chance. Can't leap attack any more, just pitifully plod towards you as you hose them with chinese assault rifle fire...
That's prolly because you don't come across them very often in NV. Idk about 4. But in 3 they're literally EVERYWHERE. I didn't even bother trying to fight it but I could have sworn they only appeared after the main quest was completed...

Loved the fact that this game didn't pull any punches early in the game. So much as wander in the wrong direction after you leave Goodsprings and yourass was getting b*tchslapped by a cazador or deathclaw

Stupid freaking Albino Radscorpions😭 They always spawn when I fast travel anywhere remotely away from the city, and soak up damage to the point that I give up trying to kill them with my sneak/small guns character
@BeTheDeathOfMe yeah probably the mod. I just got thru v87 on a very hard play through (vanilla) and it woulda been a godsend to reverse pickpocket them :D
Another point to do with the Albino scorpion: The tail has the same double damage modifier as the head of normal enemies, basically shoot them in the tail.
Kind of wild that I was 7 when fallout 3 came out and at 16 I formed a deep love for it Edit: Probably an unpopular opinion but I love it even more than new Vegas. Fallout 3 just gives me the vibe, It was my first fallout game and it gave me the true feeling that a fallout game should.
I like them equal. Fallout 3 was my first as well, and I feel New Vegas fixed some issues I had with 3, but I dont like one more than the other. To me, 3 has a sorta horror vibe to it whereas NV has a war feel to it
The reavers are by far the scariest in the game especially because you have to fight them in small spaces most of the time. They are as relentless as the albino scorpion
the first time i ever saw a deathclaw, i had only heard tales of it before i got the game. i was told that it would rip you to pieces in seconds and that if you saw one, you should never fight it and just run for your life. i was going around the wasteland, pretty early game. i then heard a faint noise behind me. i turned around and entered vats. never had i been more scared in my life from a video game. it was inches from me about to tear my face off in the middle of its attack animation. i died instantly. i personally think they ruined deathclaws in FO4.
So in the capital building with the behemoth I had a glitch where everytime I shot it in VATS with the combat shotgun it floated higher and higher until VATS ended and it fell from the top of the dome and died from fall damage 😂🤣
Unfortunately most of these enemies are fairly easy to deal with, the Dart Gun automatically cripples their legs making Reavers, Behemoths, Deathclaws and Swamplurks far easier to deal with. The Overlord though is still a very tough opponent due to the sheer damage output it offers.
Mostly true, but the reavers and albinos aren't slowed very much by the dart gun. If I get surprised by one I'll use bottlecap mines and take the hit. Beats getting shredded, lol.
@Jakelt 97 it's literally amalgamation of different languages so technically you have less a over it then any of the Germanic tribes and the Greeks that you stole most of it from also isn't really named after England English is a West Germanic language that was first spoken in early medieval England and eventually became a global lingua franca. It is named after the Angles, one of the ancient Germanic peoples that migrated to the area of Great Britain that later took their name, England
I would argue the ebony warrior is a tougher opponent, with 50% elemental resistance, drain health sword, cloak spells, close wounds and health potions, reflect blows and a 75% boost to one handed damage along with shouts and a 40% regen buff. but yet again different circumstances for fighting each boss.
I crunched some numbers - but it'd be best to actually test out. If you do, make sure it's on normal difficulty, 100 Explosives and no mods that affect relevant stats. Bottlecap Mine: 500 damage Max Demolition Expert: 500 x 1.6 = 800 Entomologist: 800 x 1.5 = 1200 Psycho: 1200 x 1.25 = 1500 1500 is precisely the Albino Radscorpion's health, but I am guessing explosive damage maxes out at the epicenter which means it's not always going to deal that much. You could add Bloody Mess for good measure and at the very least you should be able to kill Albino Radscorpions with no more than 2 Bottlecap Mines. Nuka Grenades are not affected by Demolition Expert but with Entomologist and Psycho they should also two-shot.
the death claws i nnew vegas are easier to defeat than in fallout 3. not because the death claws are weaker, but more so because new vegas hands out powerful weapons like candy so taking on the death claws is really not that big a deal.
Super mutant overlords are easier than reavers. You have to shoot the gun out of their hand and then put it in your inventory and they just become a big dumb target. Reavers require several different ranged weapons to whittle its health away. The burnmaster is great for the albino radscorpion by circling around it when you’re right next to it.
I've never had trouble with the albino radsorpion I've had trouble ALOT with the SM overlords but that's just me I use a super long range build so I see the radsorpion and kill them before they even touch me but that's just my build
austin allen even unarmed is easy because Paralyzing palm is so effective against Albino Rads that you can paralyze them and then just wail on them for a while
I like how you play test them all instead of just listing them based on stats. Stats don't always tell the whole truth as speed, fighting style and various other factors can determine how tough an enemy is to deal with. The way you rate them makes it as close as possible to how "tough" an enemy really is when everything else is factored in 👍
I think they should've got an honorable mention. Extremely fast, a lot dps, and explosives to constantly cripple you. Not to mention I believe they have high DR or DT.

To anyone playing against these beasts in Fallout 3 now; get the dart gun! The poison dart gun is relatively easy to craft, and thrashed almost all of these enemies in my experiences, especially with a stealth spec build. Even playing as a heavy weapons build, I'd still carry one around as a throwaway deathclaw/fast enemy demobilizer.
I'd just get a Tri-Laser rifle and curb enemies with that.
But what if you spec into other weapons? The dart, however will always cripple the enemy's legs, no matter what weapons you specialize in
You got paid by Bethesda to say that didn't you

I camped the behemoth from inside a building it can't get into. Death from a thousand .38 shots.

Your list is 100% correct. I remember seeing Deathclaw vs Albino Radscorpion and Deathclaw was murdered in just few seconds by Albino Radscorpion. When you encounter this abomination use your best weapons on this thing.
I used the MIRV it took 3 shots from it
Just remember when using this weapon you ammo will be hard to get so use it wisely.

Between fallout 3,NV and 4 fallout 3 has the scariest supermutants
That's prolly because you don't come across them very often in NV. Idk about 4. But in 3 they're literally EVERYWHERE. I didn't even bother trying to fight it but I could have sworn they only appeared after the main quest was completed...

Another point to do with the Albino scorpion: The tail has the same double damage modifier as the head of normal enemies, basically shoot them in the tail.
Craig Clarke really?

the first time i ever saw a deathclaw, i had only heard tales of it before i got the game. i was told that it would rip you to pieces in seconds and that if you saw one, you should never fight it and just run for your life. i was going around the wasteland, pretty early game. i then heard a faint noise behind me. i turned around and entered vats. never had i been more scared in my life from a video game. it was inches from me about to tear my face off in the middle of its attack animation. i died instantly. i personally think they ruined deathclaws in FO4.
I thought it was cool that they throw cars at you if they can in 4 (just to show how powerful they are)
@@thekingtoastamo5808 very few have died to those cars tho
@@ligmaboo yeah pretty easy to dodge but it's still cool that they do it in my opinion

2019 fallout 3 and new vegas live forever!
I crunched some numbers - but it'd be best to actually test out. If you do, make sure it's on normal difficulty, 100 Explosives and no mods that affect relevant stats.
Bottlecap Mine: 500 damage
Max Demolition Expert: 500 x 1.6 = 800
Entomologist: 800 x 1.5 = 1200
Psycho: 1200 x 1.25 = 1500
1500 is precisely the Albino Radscorpion's health, but I am guessing explosive damage maxes out at the epicenter which means it's not always going to deal that much. You could add Bloody Mess for good measure and at the very least you should be able to kill Albino Radscorpions with no more than 2 Bottlecap Mines. Nuka Grenades are not affected by Demolition Expert but with Entomologist and Psycho they should also two-shot.

I like how you play test them all instead of just listing them based on stats. Stats don't always tell the whole truth as speed, fighting style and various other factors can determine how tough an enemy is to deal with. The way you rate them makes it as close as possible to how "tough" an enemy really is when everything else is factored in 👍
