I'm watching this amazing doc from Canada, hooked up to an IV at home, I get a weekly nursing visit and can request more help when I need it. Mental health groups to help cope- for my caregivers too. Our healthcare has a lot of holes but damn does this hit home. Fight for your right not to be held captive by this atrocious treatment.

My best best friend is so sick with ALS at the moment. I lost my aunt a few years ago to the same evil disease. I can't see through the tears to finish watching this today but I Promise I will tomorrow.
I wish you and your friend long long years of healthy life..I wish that your friends condition gets better and life brings happiness to both your lives .....sorry about your aunt ...tell your best friend that it will get better someday and make sure you both have a smile on your face whenever possible cause that's the best way to have a positive atmosphere around each other ...thank you so much for being there for your friend... I am very touched by this heroic man and his family. So much courage, so much love and hope...also for others in difficult situations. These people give me hope, that mankind is growing into more caring and solidarity between us all. And I will be more thankful, that I live in a country with a good healthcare system.....I will not take it for granted anymore.

It's vile when a country feeds a war machine with dubious objectives and fails its citizens in need. Afghanistan? Vietnam? What failure of policy! They were considered honorable and necessary to "save the nation". Really? After 100s of billions of salvation where did it end? Why not try to "save citizens" instead? It's called democracy at home and unlike the mawkish and pathetic utterances of the present representatives with great health care and benefits it is NOT unaffordable. All developed countries with publicly funded health care and/or a mixed private/public hybrid spend less as a percentage of GDP than the United States.
It disgusts me how much you all have to fight for medical help and some go into incredible debt over this. In Canada all of that is covered by our Government including having a baby at the hospital, having a physical, all our blood work, our medications are cheaper here that's why Americans come here for their medication. Decades ago our Government made a deal with Big Pharma to always keep prices down so people could afford and not go deep into debt. Once your 65 you pay 100.00 for the year then all your prescription's are $4.11, dispensing fees to the pharmacy. Prescriptions that would normally cost you hundreds of dollars, insulin, antibiotics, etc. now cost you $4.11. It has been proven that we don't pay anymore taxes than that of the USA. All though your Republican's would have you believe we are taxed to death well that is just simply a lie.
