Great reaction, Erika. Thanks for the shout-out. Morissette has so many vocal tools at her disposal; it doesn't seem fair to other singers. And she always uses the tools that are appropriate to the song. That's her maturity as an artist.
This is one of Mori’s performances that had my mind blown to smithereens. AMAZING! Thanks, Erika, for featuring this!💗 Side note: Filipino vowels A E I O U are all only pronounced ONE way (Ah Eh Ee Aww Ooh). Unlike in English where you can have a multitude of sounds for a single vowel
All Visaya can understand Tagalog, some Visaya can speak Tagalog. Some Tagalog can understand and speak Visaya. A lot can speak and understand both Visaya and Tagalog
some words are similar, sone words sounds the same but different meaning, but bisaya can understand tagalog since it's basically the medium of instruction in school and in TV, usage of English and tagalog is very common in school and TV. I will give you an example of a word that sounds exactly the same, LANGGAM in tagalog means an ANT, in bisaya it means a BIRD. Sentence construction and grammar is different
@@erikatorresmusic_actually bisaya as a language may refer to any laguanges spoken by visayans. So it is still not clear what visayan language is being used when you say Bisaya. Others may think it is Cebuano, a language used by those living in Cebu. But not all bisaya speaking people can understand Cebuano language. And also, Cebuano people may not understand other languages in Visayas. So instead of using bisaya, it is more appropriate to use Cebuano, if it is from Cebu. Morisette is Cebuano and she can speak cebuano.
You missed the last part of the vid. That was fun. You should see it Essentially give #morissette a microphone, point the camera at her and magic happens
My dad's mother tongue is bisaya and my mom's mother tongue is tagalog. They met when my dad went to Manila to study in university. We, siblings, grew up in a tagalog household. I never heard my dad speak bisaya. The only time I heard him converse in bisaya is when he talk to his family. I personally don't speak bisaya but I would know the concept of what they're talking about during a conversation.
Again a great reaction, I have seen in the comments that Mori and some friends are doing a concert on June 14th I think in Los Angeles, not sure, but there's a chance for you to hear Mori singing. 😊
Nice learning rection Erika, as always I love your analysis most likely to my one and only Queen Morissette, the BEST singer/vocalist in the world today.❤❤❤

I speak Tagalog and a little bit of English. Bisaya is totally different from Tagalog. I don’t speak and understand Bisaya. My parents are originally from the northern part of Luzon where they speak Ilocano. I love to learn to speak ilocano but it is hard or I am too lazy.

Like the tone
Morissette's comfort zones are Power ballad and RnB but here, she is a Rockstar. 🏆🤩. The most versatile artists that i know since the 70's.
Morissette has mastered the rock genre, her voice sounds so good with rock songs, when she sings a rock song, I cant listen to any other versions.
I was there that concert her power vocals like a magnitude makes the crowd alive
She's on another level with this song, Rockstar Queen Morissette. Love it!!!! ❤❤❤
Thats Morissette she can gives us a different variety of colors in her singing 😍

Okay interesting so they’re similar!!! I know some dialects will be close enough that speakers of each can understand

Erika, in general, most Philippine dialects are so different from each other. We can not understand other dialects without learning it first.
That's good to know. Pretty amazing how diverse the Philippines is ! Makes sense with all the different cultural influences
so far, this is your best analysis of morissette's singing technique for me. thank you, Erika.
