  • A casual recording of a Breton Tune played on a large scale Octave Mandolin, Cittern or irish Bouzouki. Actually these are two tunes combined in an arrangement. Carlos Nuñez made the Saint Patrick's An Dro very popular all over Europe.

    Traditional Irish music is bar non the ultimate sound within the broader European folk genre given its melodic fusion created born out of every horizon.

    If Greek musicians adopt the Irish bouzouki and octave mandolin, with their inherent passion, they won't just fly, they will soar. Irish craftsmanship plus Greek bravado is a new genre waiting to be born.

    La Chanson de Bretagne est "J'aime la galette" you can see other version with French Band "Les compagnons du gras jambon" of "j'aime la galette" with Bouzouki

    This has me in a Meade- drinking, relaxed mood for sure, mate! :) Beautiful bouzouki, and fantastic playing!
    Mind if I ask you about the strap button you have? Where it's placed, do you find that it lets the instrument tip forward, like it's pulled top-wise toward the floor, or does it stay pretty flat against you? I'm just asking because I'm wondering whether to place a strap button on the side of the neck heel, like yours, or directly on top; so that it sits flatter like a guitar would...?
    Many thanks, and peace! :)

      As with many steel guitars, the strap is mounted: (a) at the bottom with the input socket for the pickup and (b) at the bottom where the neck meets the body. The instrument hangs well balanced. I think one reason is that it only has a 58cm neck and the body is quite large. Very convenient and handy - I still love playing it!

    Great playing, wondering what your tuning is. I have a 5 course cittern (and mostly play Irish trad, but I know a few Breton tunes), I tune mine DGDAD. Cheers

      Thank you! Its in ADAD for the bass drone. But it works even in GDAD (with less drone...).

      @@ShortTailedSnails I asked this question because i already heard this tune played by the band "Gwendal" (great band by the way) under the name "Me m'eus bet plijadur". I don't know if it is a composition from them or a traditional song. Thank you for your response.

  • @Nepirae
    @Nepirae 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Wow. This is great! Please help me: this is the only version I found that is played with the refrain (here at 1:00). Do you know what is the name of this arrange? Thank you!!

      Thanks for the appreciation! This "Part B" is just another An Dro that I combined with the St. Patricks. But I don't know any name or title. Just a nameless midi file that I found on the internet years ago (as far as I can remember).
