Angel Vivaldi is a premium example of Prog. Metal and frees the mind to our own aspirations. Man...Andy's lines are so insanely fluid that it almost sounds like a keyboard played them. He is one of those players who is so good it just paralyzes the brain. Angel makes it look as easy as breathing...and yet he's playing lines that'll make your fingertips melt off...
I like to think Jon Lord had a lot to do with the way we play guitar. He made that keyboard sing, and sound so cool somewhat distorted. Many guitarists tried their best to emulate that and like Andy and Angel were very successful at it.

What you got to realize is that what you see here doesn't equal to what you hear. These tracks were cut in small pieces, down to single notes, sampled, processed, then glued together, rhythm parts cloned. Solos played at slower speed and then sped up with software.That's why people refer to this kind of playing as 'sterile': the ear and brain discern unnatural evenness before you realize it.
I've been playing guitar off and on for 30 years, and it's music like this, watching them play, that inspires me to play more. This video just about brings a tear to my eye, they're so good. 💪

As a metal guitar player who has overcome intermediate, but would not say has mastered the guitar, this was an incredible piece. I love the synergy of the modes and scales used in this performance. Andy Jame & Angel Vivaldi have been producing some magnificent pieces of metal mastery ever since I started listening to them; and for them to collab on this piece made it even better. I would say it leans towards harmonic perfection, in its' entirety it's completely captivating and mesmerizing. Thanks for this amazing collaboration. It's an excellent tribute to fans everywhere.

Angel's drummer was (is?) Bill Fore. The singer for Wearing Scars (the band Andy James is in) is Chris Clancy. These guys are half way to being tangentially Mutiny Within.
