I met Steve Miller backstage at a show. When we met, I told him I collected old Gretsch guitars. He stopped. Looked me in the eye, and spent the next 15 minutes talking about giving Brian Setzer an old 6120. That was awesome.
Saw the Brian Seltzer Orchestra at the Roxy in Boston back either 95/96 . Came out playing Peter Gunn and then the James Bond theme. Half the place was dancing all night. The rest of us were watching. Girls in poodle skirts and guys with DA's really groovin. He has such mad chops.
I have an aniversary 5120. Wish I could afford a a 6120 but my 5120 sings just fine. I love it. I had to sell it years back to make a mortgage payment but was reunited with it a decade later. I missed it every day ...Turns out a guy at the plant I work at had it. I bought it back immediately. He took great care of it too.
I have a 2007 Setzer Nashville in Lacquer and I LOVE it. Brian signed the headstock when my band opened for him at the House of Blues, and then I had it cleared over.
Love Brian Setzer! Just saw him earlier this year with Rockabilly Riot and he's phenomenal. He's the reason I own several Gretsch's.
Was not expecting to hear Brian Setzer sing “Girl on the Billboard”. Been a fan for years. Awesome guitarist.
Brian is the coolest dude ever!
The Filtertron is my favourite pickup. It’s a thing of beauty.
What an excellent installment. My pre fender 6120 SSU is used quite regularly and makes quite an impression on my students. As for the man himself, I could listen to him talk shop like this all day. Among my biggest musical influences.
I LOVE my Gretsch! No guitar rocks Rockabilly like... a Gretsch! 🧡🐺🧡
Great stuff! Brian Setzer is great and so are these Gretsch guitars! TV Jones pickups are amazing!! Glad Gretsch started using them!
I've always loved Gretsch. There's something mysterious and cool about them. They are just very unique.
Such a knowledgeable guitarist!
Love my Gretsch and love me some Setzer
Love amp feedback. Brian your the man ✌️🤘🎄🙏🇦🇺
Love Brian Setzer . Fantastic guitarist, always relevant over many generations ! Thanks for the video .!👏🏽👏🏽
Brian is amaaaazing
I have the Gretsch Rancher electric/acoustic and love it. Got it last year from Guitar Center for $399
I have a 2002 Orange Gretsch 6120 JR and I switched the PUs for TV Jones Brian Setzer PUs, and it's absolutely FAN-TAS-TIC.
I love his classic orange 6120.
Setzer and Duo Jet 🎶🤘🏻🔥😃
Had a really nice Duo Jet a while back. Man, I really miss that guitar
I love every second of this video ❤
Love my 6120
To me Brian goes under the underrated category- He is so EFFIN BURRING … the absolute BEST ESPECIALLY in rockabilly!
You are one cool dude, feet squarely and firmly on the ground❤
Amazing player!
Awesome. Learned alot about my Gretsch 6120 that I didn't know. Thanks!
My gretsch was stolen from me four times here in Nashville,,,I recovered it and ultimately it was taken on Halloween last year,,,I sold everything I had to buy it and worked extremely hard,,,the nature of life is predatory,,,
Where do you live East Nashville, Antioch?
Lock your door homie
@billysunday7507 was a street musician at the time,,,it was stolen four times,,,
@@rexchiquine6049 that is why to use cheap good guitars as a street musician. I would be mad if someone stole my $250 Squier but i would lose my mind if i lost a $1,500+ Gretsch
when the wizards of smart talk of the guitar greats....Setzer is always forgotten. He is the reason I picked up a guitar and have been a Stray Cats fan since the 80s
I’m lucky to have a 2022 Gretsch G6229TG Turquoise Sparkle Jet, Ltd Edition: the updated version of the 1957-58 Blue Sparkle Duo Jet he’s playing around 6:50 in the video. Fantastic Sound !, Thanks for that video Brian.
I like the 9.5 radius neck that goes into a 12” radius that sounds awesome
The master!!
With a good Gretsch you can play any music styles!
Legend! ❤
excellent
Going to try to recreate a sparkle blue jet with dynasonics? Yes, please!
Great video. Gretsch guitars rule!
I like the Nashville, sounds like it could be great for jazz. Maybe if I hit the lotto😂
Tightest pocket in rockabilly
The sparkle on his green hot rod is more prominent than mine
Tyler Sweet mentioned in his Rig Rundown years ago that he had some green ones that were rejected prototypes because of the different flake. Could be one of those
In the Thumbnail I thought it was Gordon Ramsay at first! 🤣
💜
Those definitely have some TWANG. 😸😺🐱
Top 5 best guitarists. I don't care what anybody says
Roye Albrighton dug his Gretch's too
We need a silver jet Setzer model please.
Brian is just awesome. You could hand him a sorry piece of crap guitar, and he could make it sound like a million dollar guitar.
I have a red sparkle G5420T. I really want another Gretsch. I play surf and twang. Suggestions? Is there one in sparkle?
What is the story on that quilted maple?❤❤❤
The terada made guitars are outstanding, the new 5420T's are very good too.
what song is he playing there in the end?
"Girl on the Billboard" - Del Reeves
@@gregoryscott7088 thank you! great song
Looks like the Man has an Ampeg Jet there behind him.
I would love a Setzer 6120 that wasnt neon colored or black.
Go for the Gretsch G6120 Setzer "Smoke" one then. Classic looking 6120. They are fantastic ! 😀
He can't breathe out of his nose anymore after all those years. But he played fast and had a good time.
I want one of each ... Thank You ...
Uhhh Randy Bachman of BTO. ,A CANADIAN ROCKER😮
it's vic and bob - 'cept those two (even bob) have teeth! - great tones though. 🤪
Most Of Those Guitars R Chet Atkin Models
Always thought this dude come up in the wrong generation or a recantation of a dude in the 50's. .I mean even today he wears a 50's hair style lol ..
I have one of green tigerstripe Nashvilles, I will never part with it.
Either he has a wicked cold or has a severely deviated septum. Mouth breather; sleep apnea can kill. Hopefully just a cold.
But, gretch from antiquity has insisted on only building ones with thin necks despite their tones appeal to finger pickers, and Chet Akins tolerated it.
I've never heard of it being called a conical radius....I've always heard it called compound radius....and it's nothing new.
Please call them thirst hole
