I’ve lived in Vancouver for over 10 years but I still get homesick for England more often than I’d like to admit. Cricklade was home until I was 7, then Cirencester until I met my (now) Canadian wife and we moved to Painswick when I was 26. 6 years there until we relocated back to her hometown of Vancouver. This channel, which I discovered today, will either be a helpful sanctuary when I’m feeling homesick, or will have me checking the flight prices for a trip back “home”. :)
So nice to have you and your videos back. Its a bit dull and windy in the Forest if Dean today so enjoying watching your travels from the comfort of my armchair. PS, my cat lily likes your voice.....
The Queen Elizabeth II window in the chancel is decorated with engravings of strawberries. Apparently Clapton Hill on the Hill was once renowned for its strawberries and were served up at Wimbledon (no pun intended!)
I visited London in the early 70's and I was pleasantly surprised by how absolutely gorgeous the countryside is. I will never forget watching the changing of the guard at Windsor Palace, I was only 13 and thought how beautiful their clothes were!! 😁 I was awed by their fortitude, standing quite still for such a long time! I'm from America and I have to tell you that I'll never forget how gorgeous your country is!! Oh...I also LOVED the old castles!!! Beautiful and eerie.
it is always lovely to see cotswolds content on youtube and especially the way you make. few weeks back i was in cotswolds too. but missed the opportunity to connect with you. i came to know about you later when youtube suggested your videos. May be next time we can connect .
I reckon the Manor House there was the 13th century tithe barn originally: imagine it without the gables and windows and you’ve got a classic huge old medieval tithe barn, would have probably dwarfed the church.
Lovely small town, will most likely stay at the B&B mentioned... Might you suggest to me a few other not too touristy towns/areas,, your favorites for my wife and I from California looking to move to the Cotswolds wanting a long distant view, like what is seen here, and hilly for those daily walks that gets your heart going. My wife is a world class dental surgeon and thus needs somewhat of an affluent patient base to draw from. Thanking you now for any suggestions.
We had a little jaunt out to this village from Cheltenham on the strength of this video. I'd never been before, it's really off the beaten track. We took notice and parked just outside the village. So quiet and peaceful with the little church and the views over the valley. The ubiquitous strimmers though - we could do with taking a leaf out of the Germans' book and stop the use of noisy machinery on one day a week at least.
What a delightful video, thank you for posting.
Beautiful little video to relax to on a Sunday morning with my coffee.

Simply wonderful! This has made my day. Thank you Robin&Ross for another beautiful visit. ❤
Beautiful. Thank you so much. ❤
Very enjoyable trip out with you Robin, to a pearl of a hamlet set in the wonderful countryside of the Cotswold.
I'd love to see and know about the various manor houses and the families of the various eras.
Wish we could get some more ghost stories narrated by him, his voice and narration style is like butter on warm flaky scone.
Delightful portrait of a quintessentially Cotswold settlement and its petite church. No cars - what a blessing that must be.
Yes, a gem, indeed. ❤ Many thanks for a joyful walk. Elizabeth in Essex, Connecticut 💐
Anyone living in Clapton on the Hill is very lucky and should be grateful for the rest of their lives.
Excellent video!
Very nice, I could live there for sure!
