Yes, run-off must be reduced drastically. Properly designed and implemented Recharge wells/pits at suitable places will bring huge benefits - in terms of reduced flooding & water-table coming up.
There is a wonderful video on how trees are vital for rainfall. They capture moisture and dust with their canopy which act as seeds for clouds to form. Most of the rainfall in the Amazon forest are due to trees. In Bangalore, as the tree cover has fallen down, so has the chances of rainfall. We are now dependent on larger atmospheric circulation patterns for rainfall like the monsoons.
El Nino phenomenon plus it is just the behaviour of mother nature plus people in namma Bengaluru who don't do rainwater harvesting and now cribbing about rains
Wow the video quality and design was great but also finding out about the people you tagged and their work was a joy to see! Thanks for putting this all together :)
Water logging could be avoided in core areas by finishing the K-100/SWD projects. Post the change in CM in 2021 and even the new Govt, i have not seen any work being done on them on ground. You had extensively covered the project earlier, loved that video!. Any updates on the current status?
Hi yes! We'll be doing a follow up video also soon - progress is being made, slower than expected due to many reasons but still, definitely progress on all fronts
storm water drains are bakwas, instead just plant trees 3 feet apart, nd make proper foot path. Trees will observe water nd ground water get recharged automatically.. Unless storm water Connected to Lakes Or STP it's of no use. Please use this idea😅😅 bbmp bwssb
why you want rain if don’t leave an inch of land to percolate and recharge your groundwater levels? greenery and lakes have reduced drastically. overcrowding and over ambitiousness lead a beautiful place turn into a urban jungle.
