    I can't believe how much of difference one season of growing has made in that planting! That is really starting to look good.

    Hey Nigel,
    Just a suggestion but in one of the houses you could create a mini-bonsai zone with those tiny pots you showed in another video

    • @TheBonsaiZone
      @TheBonsaiZone  3 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Great Idea, I'll do that, set up a bonsai garden!

    • @birder4life999
      @birder4life999 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@TheBonsaiZone maybe with some tiny tight leafed plants like a thyme or dwarf cypress variety, I bet those would look good as a mame in front of one of those houses.

    • @MrJcalvino
      @MrJcalvino 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@birder4life999 i don’t think it would look good. You can put a mame pot with that houses sizes, it doesn’t match. You will lose the sense of escale.

    I have so many comments on this one. First, I think that the diorama bonsai style is my favorite part of your collections. I originally didn't like this design bc it was alot of work setting it up. It's beautiful now that the trees are growing and worth it.
    Second, I thing you should start adding a sequence of the evolution to these trees at the end of the vids. It would be amazing to watch and remember.

I wonder if roots will start pushing houses up a bit next year, I guess you would just prune roots every other year or so .. amazing work on this Penjing village scenery! What type of moss is that and how do you grow it or harvest it? I can’t ever get my reclaimed moss to look that good or establish itself on my soil.

  • @ChuckReel1
    @ChuckReel1 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I love this little village! Sort of off subject question: I have little luck rooting cuttings. Is there a trick to the soil? You seem to always get roots!

    Wow! What a difference in just a summer! That planting is going to be just awesome! Your ficus from seed... How long was it before the aerial roots started?.... I'm soooo impatient LOL My ficus B. hates it outside. Just stops growing out there. It does far better indoors. But I want aerial roots, so I put it outside every year.

    A oval pot could make it more lifelike, it's very square now..

  • @vectispete9415
    @vectispete9415 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Is there an argument that the ficus are so vigorous that they need containing in smaller pots within the pending, to avoid a huge dense root mat that lifts the display at the surface.
