    I like how you use what you have, rather than buying all new stuff.

    Great minds think alike! 🤣 Love the ficus you chose for the accent plant… and the stained up stands look fantastic!

    I really like that homemade simple stand. Sometimes simplicity is very beautiful.

    What about just a small moss pot? Plain and simple. That Buddha pot with moss in it might also look good. Just a thought.

    Gunstock finish works really good too, takes less time to dry, only 24 hours.

    Like what you did with that piece of wood found in the yard. It makes a nice bonsai stand. Love the patina that you were able to get on it. And, that little round stand for the accent plant is just perfect! The clay pot is looking good. Definitely enjoyed part 1.

    Great job with the stand. I really like the way the roofing tar absorbed into the wood and the linseed oil was a great finishing touch. Always a pleasure watching you create your art.

    Ha ha, it was funny to see you "instructing" your possible show tree choices about them having 11 days left to grow. Like "hey guys, you'd better rise for the last leg of the growing season and show your best. The game is on!" Coaching your trees is essential.😀

    Great that you show this tree! 🌳
    Have you tried your large self-made stand with the Ficus? The combo of the two tar painted stands looks fantastic to me 22:37. And the legs of large one are much shorter which might suit the ficus better than the long-leg stand.

    Ow Nigel, you are a treasure ^^. 11 days said to all of involved trees just put huge smile on my face :). I’m impresed that round table for accent plant worked. In the beginning i thought it’s not a good idea cause you had round pot, round pot, rount table, rectangular table, but taring it made all the difference in the world. Whole composition is now coherent, and surely show worthy. :) can’t wait to see other trees.

    Wicked! I was almost thinking you would use the Ta Prohm temple as an accent, but then, large, busy, competing and 2 temples thing answered that Haha! Looking fantastic!!

  • @keithconn737

    Dude - you are amazing! First minute of the video you show off your display stand which is old scaffolding with 2x's and a black tarp.... wouldn't have it any other way! Love it! And they way you talk about it so seriously is just classic! Like others said, you are a treasure, and the world needs more people like you.

  • @growclipbonsaiforseniors1951
    @growclipbonsaiforseniors1951 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Will you put some felt pads on the bottom of the homemade stand to cover the wood screws to prevent the scratching of any surface the stand is placed on? Will help table to slide moving stand into position. Just wondering.

  • @uppergorple
    @uppergorple 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I think the main temple stand is too tall. Sadly the legs need reducing as their curvature and the space they create form a distraction. (Like a painting can be overwhelmed by its frame...)

    since when shows have to have an accent plant? seems there's a big kusamono hype going on at the moment 😄

    • @TheBonsaiZone
      @TheBonsaiZone  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They don't have to, you can have a one point display, a two point display or even a three point display. It's traditional and helps evoke a feeling of the time of the year or the location that the tree would grow.

    I hate to throw a spanner in the works. But I find it so hard to show tropicals in a place that has four seasons. I have always been shown that the accent should show the season. Which is very difficult with tropical that have only one. What about a small pagoda in a pot of moss?

  • @gianfrancolassandro8311
    @gianfrancolassandro8311 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    HI Nigel sorry if add my opinion to this chat but i believe your stand for the ficus over the temple would look much better if you cut the legs up to the squre section. At the moment the stand is way to tall and looks a bit odd. Also the stand would look much more conteporane and minimal.
