I love this idea! I think enabling calling a meeting would help out the survivors. Perhaps if you're at a bench, Once per game per person, you can call a meeting by typing in chat, and everyone has to dreamgate back to a central area? That means you can't just instantly escape being attacked, but still makes it much easier to meet up with people, and can give a deadline to chases, instead of them being just delaying the inevitable, by trying to kill them before the get to a bench?
Next time we're definitely playing with meetings! I've got it 90% planned out. It'll be played in a much smaller area, the win condition will be much easier for innocent players, and there'll be alert buttons to teleport everyone together. Should be much improved, I think.
The amogus needs a way to separate the players. Give a way to "sabotage lights" every few minutes, putting everyone into Deepnest Darkness until the lights are "repaired" at a specific location. Say, the nailsmith, which is out of the way and rife for ambushes.
That sounds awesome. Like we could have Dark Hallownest as a light modifier, begin with all lever doors open but then have them close and lock until “repaired,” do something with Infected Crossroads maybe… Traitors being able to trigger things with a cooldown timer just like sabotages would be so much fun.
Innocent faction could always be buffed by adding more duplicate items, but I think the best improvement would be something that forces the traitors to stay hidden. It might be something as simple as everyone starting with Nail Arts, so using them doesn't out you, and innocent players are more dangerous. The biggest issue seems to be getting outed as soon as an innocent player escapes an attack. If getting outed were more dangerous, as it should be, then maybe you'd have to actually activate some of those curses to ensure that you can attack safely.
This was awesome. Maybe some more restrictions to the traitors and some real consequences if people know who they are? Like if they get found out, they lose a few masks or that benches cannot heal them so they have to be more careful and discreet.
Something along the lines of "if you get to black egg temple, you can call a meeting". But if someone is being chased, they shouldn't be able to instantly call a meeting, so you need to heal in the temple or something like that to trigger a meeting?
On top of adding meetings, I feel like adding a couple of safe havens (areas where traitors can't come in, such as your HK speedruns where hunters aren't allowed in boss rooms) would give innocents some breathing time. Also, I think having an automatic emergency meeting occurs as soon as a dreamer is obtained to give innocent chances in case they get trapped with traitors.
Just make great slash do 3 masks of damage and allow 1+ emergency meeting(s) that require everyone to go back to the starting dreamgate? I don’t know but I do think your assessment that the innocents have it too hard is correct.
I think you could buff surviving innocent players as their numbers reduce. Same for traitors if one of them dies. For innocent players have the buff start small and get progressively bigger buffs as their numbers dwindle. Also gives the traitors more reason to make sure they finish off innocent players without getting caught since the survivors could over power them if they gang up on the traitors.
It's interesting, but as in normal among us, I feel like it's more interesting with roles. That could help the balance toward non-traitors. Having some investigation tools for the crew could be nice, like being able to follow a player in particular on the map, being allowed to warp, to become invisible for 30 seconds, ... I think this would deepen this mod. :)
Fire do you have any plans on continuing the god gamers series? Path of pain has drastically changed over the past 2 years since the last episode so wouldn't it be worth another update maybe? I think people would love to see how it went from 2:01 to 1:55 (let alone the new tas r2)
Something that could be interesting is an Evolve game mode. One or more "monsters" vs a team of hunters. Monster has more masks but if they die they're out. Hunters have less but can respawn on a timer provided at least one hunter is alive. Items are scattered that buff the monster but not the hunters. So it starts out as hunters pursuing the monsters, but as they manage to find items and "feed", the hunters eventually become the hunted. I think you'd need some way to, even temporarily, lock both parties in a certain area. The actual evolve does this with the arena bubble on the hunters side and the monster is fast enough that the hunters separating to try and stall for respawning isn't a thing. But in this one you'd need a way to keep the hunters from just scattering in late game.
Sussy knight 🤯 I really enoyed this spin on the mulitplayer although I think the traitors have too much advantage. For the future attempts there should be some balance changes to make things more fair and interesting 👍
I know I am a bit late with the comment here but the algorithm decided today was the day that I get to see this video... I feel like both the innocents and the imposters having full access to the map, and as a byproduct the imposters always knowing where everyone is, is a bit too strong. Paired with what was discussed at the end of the video about when it gets down to just 1 innocent its just unmanageable. Maybe not allowing players to use the map, or maybe only being allowed to use the map when you in pre-designated safe zones or something. And maybe even not letting the imposters know who their partner is so they have to try and figure it out (I'm imagining a little bit of "i'll show you mine if you show me yours" shenagagins)
Im surprised no one's thought of a traitor strategy like let's speedrun CDash and the spell upgrade in peaks using Bench warp to access peaks bypassing the legitimate Entrances, and now sure they also get Movement but they have no way of knowing who got the upgrade though I suppose that requires the randomiser to be same type Constrained to fully take advantage of peaks also has lots of items like the storeroom key Check. Also after someone dies it should leave an item(let's call it the Totem of Revelation or discovery which when hit sends a message in chat to call a meeting (reporting the Body) which allows the players a chance to get rid of the Traitors by Vote
Impostors should probably be able to see what is going on at a bench before bench warping, so that get more sneaking is encouraged than killing everyone on sight
There should probably be a benefit for the hunters as the game progresses. Like... For every dreamer thats collected the hunters can give themselves an ability of their choice or an extra mask, etc. Rather than you just hunting off the start
honestly my only real complaint is that the directional audio carries over when watching the vid with headphones, and that was kinda disorienting but the video itself was incredibly fun
The traitors need to not know who their teammate is. Though that might not work well with pvp because they're liable to kill each other. But I think that little bit of lost knowledge might even things up a lot.
A better way to balance this would be for great slash to 1 shot players and only having bench reveal players in your area while killers can see everyone lol
