Sarah Thank you again. I'm watching you this evening with the BBC news on and seeing the continued awfulness of the war in Ukraine and am thinking of the many embroideres in that country. I'm sure everyone here wishes for peace in that land. Meanwhile thank you for your calm and confident teaching.
Someone suggested buying Ukrainian Embroidery downloads on platforms like Etsy Carol, to help people to keep earning a living. I think you can just search Ukraine embroidery and some should come up x
Hi, Sarah so glad I found your channel, there are quite a few teaching embroideries but to me, you are the one I most enjoy watching, the way you explain the stitches is very understandable and easy to earn the skill, so thank you so much for sharing.
Sarah, your explanations of what you are sewing are second to none, best teacher I've ever had. I have a question about your frame. How do you attach it to the table? Is it using 2 table holders? Please could you take it apart and reconnect it so that I understand how it works together. Thank you very much.
I loved watching this, not only do you have a very gentle voice which makes your videos really relaxing to watch but you show the stitches in so much detail. I’m still a very novice embroiderer & when I first started I tried to follow different stitches in a book I had. If only I’d found your videos earlier! However by following your many videos I have learnt so much I can only get better…. Fingers crossed. I heartily recommend them to anyone starting out in embroidery. Thank you sharing your expertise. PS I love the Goldwing ones too & hope you will be able to show us some trips out this Summer.
@@SarahHomfrayEmbroidery - That is so clever; I never would have thought to do that! Thank you for answering and also thank you for the wonderful tutorials. I’ve enjoyed each one I’ve watched. xx
Hi, Sarah very glad i've found you. Your teaching of embroidery is the best, i have tried them all and not yet great at them all but am getting there. I have one question ,i have not seen you show the technical part of finishing off the weaving of the thread on the back after completing a line or when having run out of thread.Could you show that?
Sarah, thank you for shring the stitches. I had a chance to get a view of the frame which is holding your fabric. What is this model and is the fabric held with pins?
I use stretcher bar frames, have a look for my video about them Savita! Yes just pin the fabric to the frame. You don't get the annoying round marks on your fabric you can get with a ring frame
I hope to learn more. I love the first stitch. I am having to embroider my granddaughters quilt. The curves of the letters and making sure the stitches are straight is a concern for me.
Wow, I’ve never seen this type of embroidering, Is there a different name for it.? I did enjoy watching this tutorial, regardless of it’s name.where are you doing these videos? I’m from Canada myself. Anything I’ve done was on my own. So right or wrong, it’s how I did it. LOL.... Great job you’ve done Ty.❤️
Hi Sarah, I’ve just found your site. Thank you for all your very informative instructions. I have just started embroidering and by watching you I have certainly learned a great deal. I am crocheting blankets for my new grandson at the moment and would like to put his name, etc on some of the items. How do I start this process please? Many thanks for all your assistance. Jacqui. Xx 💕💕
Crochet a small piece to practice on Jacqui! Use a thick wool and a large tapestry needle. You can hide the ends of the threads by running your threads through your stitches
Hello. I want to embroider initials on the foot bottom of a stuffed animal. Do you have any suggestions on how I start (with a knot?) and what is the best stitch to use? It is a small surface area - 1” wide by 1 1/2” long. Thank you.
Can you show the back of your designs.. i would love to see that. I’ve never seen that start up technique that you do.. i tried it but wasn’t sure what to do with the knot on the side of the design so i just started my design over 🙁

AWESOME !!! Questions ;) How close is twisted chain to rope stitch ? How close is picot stitch to cast on stitch because they look similar at the end ? ;) Thanks for sharing ;D
There are hundreds Rosestella! It depends on what kind of embroidery you want to do but if you are a beginner a good stitch dictionary is good to have...
you are so easy to follow. Many thanks
You are the go-to teacher on the net. Thank you so much for all of your time.
In other words, find it really easy to learn with you, no doubt the best teacher around.
You are an awesome teacher. Thank you.
I really appreciate your work. I have done needlework all my life but have never seen a better teacher. Thank you.

Could you tell me where you got your elephant needle magnet from. It’s really nice! xx
I lovely TH-cam follower sent it to me! It was a brooch and I put a magnet on the back of it so it can now be two things!

Use smaller stitches for tighter curves Elisabeth and you should find that works

Wonderful!!!
Very good tutorial, nice and clear. I shall be subscribing to you.

Glad you enjoyed Noella, It's just hand embroidery, I can't think what else it might be called! We are in the UK, I hope all is well across the pond..
What stitch would you use to cover the stamped caligraphy writing ( just like in caligraphy, each letter has both thicker and thinner areas
Probably a couple of stitches Susan, perhaps satin for the thicker part and a stem or back stitch for the thin part?

Nice. The twisted chain stitch looks like the Snail Trail Stitch ( Ref. Natalie Chanin, Craftsy ). Are they the same ?
I don't know, I'll have to look it up!

Hi if you can just remove the writing off the demonstration when starting I'm a beginner and do enjoy your work please thank you
What writing Elizabeth? Do you mean the adverts? There is a little cross in the top right corner, if you click on it it will disappear...
I think she is referring to your web site, which I think is very cleverly placed!
