This is great thank you I am trying to learn scale exercises. I have the first sequence down, starting on open E but not sure how to move the sequence up the neck.
you dont need to stretch your fingers much. its not that hard to just shift half an inch back and fourth, say you have first finger on first fret, fourth finger for 5th fret, seems far, but not really, just bounce your whole hand back and fourth on the neck. youll see you dont have to shift very much, 3:43 you can see he kinda does this here, his hand slightly shifts left and right while moving through the scale, he doesn't need to, its just more comfortable to play this way,
If you click the gear icon in the lower left of the video you can reduce the playback speed of the video. Super useful for figuring out fast bass lines too.
@@honkylips01 yes I think most of us know that but surely it would be sensible to slow the explanation down..... after all it is a lesson.... no matter. Thanks
@@OnlineBassGuitar1 i played a little piano so i know all the scales and the circle of 5ths. On piano its easy to just play a scale from top to bottom cause how the keys are layed out but i just don't get how to practice my scales across the whole fretboard up and down and im starting to learn the note names of the board but it dosent help know the pattern and idk if thats what this was supposed to teach cause how do i apply it to different scales? I didnt get it
I don't understand what is a major scale anymore; should keep the formula: Whole step, whole step, half step ,another 3 whole step and a half step? From E : E F# G# A B C# D# E(octave).

It would be nice if the captions weren't in front of the fretboard, so we can actually see you play..
Hey , can u recomend me a book for learning bass and music theory ?
Pls can you Also post rest major scale all position , A,B,D,E,F,G.
What bass cab is that? The maroon red one?
can you just move more slowly so that beginner like me can track your finger moves

I can play this with all song?
Once you have an understanding of the positions, how do you use them in a simple 4 chord progression?
Nope, lost. Now I'll try Josh.
I have no sound?
I still have no idea how u know what notes to play

don't know how you know which fret to play.

stefanescu nicolae I believe it’s the same formula down a single string as it is in a certain section of the fret board that your fingers reach
So basically it's just using the modes
@@OnlineBassGuitar1 yeah that makes sense. Thanks for the reply
Good but you go to fast through the notes on the scale and it's difficult to see you finger position.
Going way too fast, and using words Idk yet....Already lost me
what specific word/concept you dont understand ?
your video needs a gain knob
You just go far to fast for a beginner..... it’s as if you think everyone should know the scale already but thanks anyway.
I read music but 🤷🏽♀️ you lost me (I’ll be back).
Thanks for the feedback! To help me make better content, what made you switch off? What was too confusing?
talking and moving too fast. stick on one root and explain it slower.
Can I call u I'm confuse
too complicated
Good gosh….just play the scales
Fair point. Cheers for the feedback!
