Absolutely succulent sounding Rhodes. Dripping with fullness and character. Then there's the perfection execution of the playing. Far better example of this song than anything I hoped to find, frankly.

Living in long island as a child and having this had been my parents wedding song I heard this tune ALOT. not even kidding when I say this is my favorite piano cover on all of youtube. Dear author, I want to thank you very much for this video. For the instrument itself, for this composition, for your playing. The fact is that about 3 years ago I accidentally heard this composition on your channel and this partially influenced my initial interest in the Rhodes instrument. After this video, through the chain, I met Marcin Grochowina on TH-cam and finally made my choice in the direction of Rhodes. And as for this video of yours, at the beginning of my journey I spent a very long time making a similar arrangement, and later I even started my own TH-cam channel, where I display my creativity. Once again I want to say thank you very much and good health!

the sound is always a combination of a lot of different things together e.g. hammertips, EQ, pickups, tines-adjustment, effects, the way you hit the keys etc.
if your´s is too dark sounding check the hammertips & tines first...

pianistjustforfun hi, I am trying to get towards that sound with my 1975 Mark I Rhodes but I am getting nowhere... how did you make that recording? Would you mind sharing what was along the signal chain? Did you mike an amp or use some preamp or just sent the sound through an audio interface inside the computer and then used effects etc inside computer?

Oh, but what will it take till you believe in me
The way that I believe in you?
    I said I love you, that's forever
And this I promise from the heart, mmm

The sound of this organ is iconic, as a session musician I've heard a lot of organs, old and new-Wurlies, Clav d6's, dx-7's moogs, up to the Korgs and Yamaha Motifs. Even with the technology of todays digital capabilities, theyre still just patches. I doubt if anyone will "trump" Harold Rhodes invention of this organ.

Superb - really like it. Allthough, for my taste and intepretation, you play it a little too straight - I like some more "lifts" here and there ("before" the downbeat), but thats just me

Still my favourite song played on my favourite keyboard! I'm wondering why your upper notes have that distinct "hoarse" bellish sound whereas my 88 suitcase has more bark but less of the treble even with the treble pushed all the way up and the bass all the way down. Something2do with the positioning of th upper tines? Maybe closer to the pick-ups? Or did you enhance the "tops" on Logic?
