Thanks. I shot the video, my friend Phil owned and rode the bike. He reluctantly sold it 6 months ago. It was an immaculate motorcycle and it ran well.
I own a gt550 1974 with less then 20,000 miles on it looks good road it 800 miles in one day .I was all over the seat, went from Ohio to Daytona Beach. Stop every 100 mi. To get gas.long ride, wood ve been nicer to ov done it in 3 days.
I had the same bike in the same colour scheme. It even had a speedo in mph as Oz was still using imperial measurements.I think the only difference was a lower handlebar. It was a comfortable long distance tourer. I rode it from Brisbane to north of Cairns and back. Your restoration is impeccable, such nostalgia!
I had a 1974 T500 L in Candy Gypsy Red. What I liked about the Titan was its big heavy flywheels that let you punt along at a respectable clip without revving the crap out of it. The long wheel base did make cornering a slow business though and you needed to keep brake maintenance up to them.
My Dream bike...in that color/trim...these bikes are so cool. Simple design...giant killers in their day. Someday I'll have one. I'm lucky in that my younger brother had a Titan exactly like this one. I'm pictured with it on my facebook page. Thrilling machine.
Simply beautyful!! Sounds like my ex-Jawa638... these was the best sounding bikes ever made! I wish You many-many miles without any problem! Greetings from Europe, Hungary!
Had the exact same model and colour, albeit in infinitely rattier condition in the late 1980's. I had the original front end, but mine ran with a GT380 front end on it to give it a disc brake. Very comfy bike. Fantastic over long distances. Cornered like a turd in a bathtub, but it really did teach you to plan ahead and ride smoothly because there was no throwing that thing around on the fly. The hinged frame didn't help things either.
Sir, thank you for your video. You did a better job of reviewing and explaining this bike than many others on the net. Your bike was spotlessly clean, shaming me by the conditions I keep mine in. You obviously respect the Suzuki T500 for what it is, what it meant when it appeared. I remember its gurgling rumble well. Well done!
The bike belonged to my friend Phil. I made the video. He sold it some months ago to a chap who lives on the IOM. These 70's 2 strokes have become sought after. Prices are going up and up.. Thanks for leaving a comment
fine engine, good enough bike around it. which is why the engine still shows up in week-end races. if they ever extract the smoke from the exhaust, they'll be back. but-ebikes may be the future. boriiing!
God, as soon as this video started and I heard that motor I was transported back to 1971. Thank you for that!!! Same color too.
Thank you and good riding.
Drool..sniff, its brings back the good old day's ..😂❤
It certainly does. Cheers.
Such a jpy listening to that two stroke twin. Takes me back to when i owned a '77 model back in the mid 80's. Such wonderful memories. Thanks.
Thanks
I had the 1972 version and it was a solid bike. I road cross country 4000 miles (U.S.) worked beautifully, no problems.
Thanks. I shot the video, my friend Phil owned and rode the bike. He reluctantly sold it 6 months ago. It was an immaculate motorcycle and it ran well.

what a bike, absolutely beautiful colour scheme, my favourite big twin two stroke. 😀 👍 👍 👍
Now sold to a chap in the IOM
Wish I had one had a t 250 in 1970 it would do 70 mph in 4,,5,or 6 gear,loved that bike.
Bloody great restoration. Something you should be justifiably proud of. One day I would like mine to meet that standard.
The bike has now been sold.
@@J2onton Hope it reaped a solid reward. It’s beautiful.
Always fancied one of these in this colour, had a poster of this and T250j on my bedroom wall, ended up with Gt380, loved it completely reliable.
Cheers

Thanks

I was thinking this model had 47bhp and the later GT 500 had 44bhp. What an absolutely stunning machine.
The T500 had a 47bhp engine. Thanks for your comment.

Desire is a painful affliction.
I had one , I thought it had a 6 speed transmission?
