I could get lost in those eyes for days on end. What a blessed girl. Great acting too on her behalf, that terrified expression, the freeze, the panic that builds up.
In this scene, she is paralyzed out of fear. But there's more to this scene that explains the relationship between Kevin (the man in the car) and herself. In the movie, it is explained that she is a Hunter, and he is the animal or as he's referred to as, "The Beast". The hunter sat quietly and the animal did not notice her until she gave away her position.
Can we just appreciate how beautiful and talented Anya is? I remember watching the movie i thought it was gonna be a criminal who takes hostage this three girls and they’ll have to find their way to escape but it turned to be way more complex the movie. Love it.
I know this isn’t supposed to be funny, but even when I first saw this, I couldn’t help but laugh at this scene. His face when the ‘door ajar’ alarm goes off is the greatest thing. Like ‘seriously Deborah... we talked about this...’
Her eyes look almost cgi altered like with the actress in "Alita: Battle Angel". It makes her mythologically cute or beautiful. I'm amazed she's not known for this unique trait.
Wasn't it "In Cold Blood" where the criminals decide to hitch hike, and to rob and kill the people in the first car that stops for them. Then a car with two Marines stops and offers them a ride, and they pass it up, and say, "We'll rob and kill the people in the second car that stops."
I'm seeing more and more of Anya joy Taylor and I'm loving her more and more and can we appreciate the makeup artists as well look how they contoured the nose and faces Anya looks great as her character!!!!! @@munkee_man Right, and I think thats what they go for in movies, but if you think about anytime you've ever been scared or uneasy, we don't ever take an hour to turn to it lol it goes against our instincts
but wouldn't you want to be still if you don't want to notice?
@@NickWright True
I disagree on the basis that people do not turn slowly when they know what to expect. If they don’t know and it is a jump scare it works differently than if it is an expectation.
It’s like when a teacher call your attention as she stands by your desk and you know she has seen you write on it with your compass (drawing tool). You know you are caught and slowly face her.
girl: *tries to open the door
the guy: *so you have chosen death*
Peace was never an option anymore after the girl opened the door and MacAvoy knew she was going to escape... 😞
Ironically she's the only one in this scene who doesn't die. McAvoy's character(s) included.
Gotta love the door chime
Everyone is upset with the girl for not getting out of the car, but if James Mcavoy got in the car with me, I wouldn't get out either.
@@kaiz1845 James McAvoy character doesn't die. You oughta watch Glass. It's a cross sequel to Split and Unbreakable with Bruce Willis and Samuel Jackson. David Dunn and Mr glass character's. They are part of the same universe.
I SAW THIS MOVIE it was creepy with some funny parts
I wanna be famous ;-; l
Low key._.Demetri HEDWIG!!!
Caitlin Donaghy you can
Yeah
I SAW THIS MOVIE it was not creepy with some dumb parts

What human in they right mind would sit there and look at a stranger. "Frozen in fear" hell no anybody would had left that car real quick
Her acting is phenomenal.
*This is literally my worst fear EVERR*

1:33 to 1:37 chills man this scene just popped up in my head randomly…Anya has that thing with her eyes that says so much without her having to say a word it’s insane she’s a phenomenal actress
🇦🇷
*when you don't want to go home on such a level that you don't even bother escaping your kidnapper*
She can't
Sarah? She easily could’ve hopped out of that car screaming for help, and by the amount of cars in the parking lot, someone (if not multiple people) would’ve definitely heard her and came to her aid.
@@twigdayzclips2859 yeah but you have to understand some people react to danger differently and since she's a victim of abuse her natural response would be to freeze up.
Hi llama how's your mama? oh yeah let me just stay here and veeerrry sloooowly turn to look at this guy after he just knocked out both of my friends, and continue to do nothing after he starts to put his mask on again and grab his bottle
@@terrytucker4811 or you could look at the situation as her being a teenager who experienced constant abuse all throughout her life and adapted a freeze response to danger because of the abuse.

the spray should spread but hey its a film

She should have got out the car real quick
She was frozen with fear. It's really common for people to say "Oh they should have done this or that" until they're in the same situation. You panic
jimmy perkins wow so sexist! It's acting, you never know what she could've have done. Stfu you arrogant ass.
She couldn't. She would've been taken either way.
Well the man isn't going to hijack a car with 3 men in it and take them, is he? It's not OUR fault men are crazed freaks!
well then if she did whats the story? she go to the police and the police arrested him...and ending...
She's so naturally attractive.

I blame her eyes.
I blame her lips
she's an alien. Which explains a lot of things.

It's funny becuase Anya is a mutant.
I just saw a series the Queen's Gambit, and the lead actress Beth is so great I looked her up, and OMG it's the girl from Split, so I had to TH-cam any scene from that move to see her to compare and it brought me here. I swear she changes her hair style, and it's like a different person until you see them back to back and then its like OK it's the same person. What a phenominal performance she does in Queen's Gambit, I loved her in Glass and Split but I just thought she was a pretty girl, until you see her in a lead role then you realize how awesome an actress she really is.
havent seen queens gabit yet but i keep heairng good things about it,.......guess im just gonna have ti take a dive into it. :)
but she's a lead role here too

I could get lost in those eyes for days on end. What a blessed girl. Great acting too on her behalf, that terrified expression, the freeze, the panic that builds up.
Anya taylor joy is just gorgeous, like damn
Leonardo Henrique she is lol
She really is
@RASHEED WALLACE i think you have dyslexia
James McAvoy's performance in this movie was highly praised

She staring and shit! She need to be running
jeremiah bady she was frozen in shock and fear
gamergirl her adrenaline should be pumping to over power that fear
In this scene, she is paralyzed out of fear. But there's more to this scene that explains the relationship between Kevin (the man in the car) and herself. In the movie, it is explained that she is a Hunter, and he is the animal or as he's referred to as, "The Beast". The hunter sat quietly and the animal did not notice her until she gave away her position.
Jesse Bond .... Oh
Flight or fight.
Her eyes are so perfect.
Yo, this girl play the main actress in The Queen's Gambit. So fun that I regconize her here!
Her name is Anya Taylor-Joy. She's acted in a few movies, yeah.
queens gambit was the best
Why not watch full length movies?
2:42 his face had me in more tears than the girl in the front seat
Can we just appreciate how beautiful and talented Anya is?
I remember watching the movie i thought it was gonna be a criminal who takes hostage this three girls and they’ll have to find their way to escape but it turned to be way more complex the movie.
Love it.
I know this isn’t supposed to be funny, but even when I first saw this, I couldn’t help but laugh at this scene. His face when the ‘door ajar’ alarm goes off is the greatest thing. Like ‘seriously Deborah... we talked about this...’
Embodiment of the “freeze” response
Her eyes look almost cgi altered like with the actress in "Alita: Battle Angel". It makes her mythologically cute or beautiful. I'm amazed she's not known for this unique trait.
They’re clearly mentioned her EYES being large with the mention of Alita
It's not a unique trait. My wife has eyes like that. As well as my cousin. It isn't all that rare.
Spanish, English, African, Argentinean, and Scottish descent, makes for a pretty face.
Blessica M young lady you don’t look pretty your self :)
She is exotic and beautifully mitológica mente natural
2:02 I really love the reverb transition on the ambiance. It really adds the mood to the scene!
If Big Smoke was in the car : "You picked to wrong car, fool!"
Bang bang bang
Wasn't it "In Cold Blood" where the criminals decide to hitch hike, and to rob and kill the people in the first car that stops for them. Then a car with two Marines stops and offers them a ride, and they pass it up, and say, "We'll rob and kill the people in the second car that stops."
I'm seeing more and more of Anya joy Taylor and I'm loving her more and more and can we appreciate the makeup artists as well look how they contoured the nose and faces Anya looks great as her character!!!!! I do it myself it's a lotta work but so much fun to look like someone else.....her expression I feel it when your frozen in fear and can't move that's happened to me many times I like this movie alot it was well made didn't see it in theatres I wish I did!!!!!!
