  • Dark ambient jam on a bright sunday. I've waited way too long to get a Lyra-8 but now it's my new favourite ambient machine. But for the first try I reduced the typical unpredictability of the Lyra-8 as much as I could and tried to play it as much as possible like a regular analog synth.

    Sounds great! nice piece.
It has such a dirty yet fragile sound.
Seems like a synth you have to become part of to master. I find that appealing.
Just ordered mine. Can't wait to dive in.

I really enjoyed it, nice to see someone gettin “kind a notes” out of it, that’s how I would like to use it as well, you wanna share your tricks to manage this ?
Savin cash since a while to get this piece of happiness, for sure it will come !
    Cheers

You can set a fixed pitch for each of the 8 voices so that you can play 8 notes at all. Wish you all the best to get the Lyra soon :)

I had it in my head that I didn't want one of these... Once I had listen a lot of other people playing it. It began to all sound the same. (An injured dinosaur in the distance bellowing?)
But this has changed my mind. This is beautiful.
This performance may have cost me 600 pounds.
    Thank you. (I think?)

Lyra arrived today. I am now late for work.
I have what probably is best described as a "loss of virginity" kind of feeling.
No wonder you hardly ever see them second hand.

Sounds lovely mate, is that the onboard reverb or is it a cheeky little DAW number? Very inspiring either way

Great sounds. What do you use with your Lyra 8 to create this sound?

Is the only way to trigger sounds on the Lyra by pressing those metal contacts?

Playing the Lyra alone is already pretty hard … why would you make it such a burden! :)

@@ultradianmusic Because Ive seen your video with the guitar/EBow/Hog.....thouhgt getting only an constant tone out of the Lyra going in the Hog will open a wider space:-) though it could be less hard:-)
