- Taking the AS Motor AS901 Flail mower out for an overgrown clean up!
If you are interested in any of the equipment I'm using, check out my new page Turf and Tools / @turfandtools where I review equipment that I am sent and use. If you'd like to send something for me to show, send me an e-mail timthelawnmowerman@gmail.com
Hi! My name is Tim The Lawnmower Man and I love to clean up overgrown yards and make fun videos doing it. I'm able to do them for free as these videos have ads on them and the revenue from that enables me to cover my cost.
I'm always looking for the worst yards around. Sometimes I drive around looking for them, sometimes viewers send me suggestions.

Loved the drone shot as you completed the yard.
another great vlog. those drone shots were epic!
The top down shots were SO good.
Enjoyed the drone coverage!
Wow, that machine is amazing !!!! Definitely going to be a great asset to your growing collection of lawn equipment !!!!
Mate those aerial/drone shots are addictive👌🏽
Absolutely thought the drone shadow was a massive spider 😂😅
That was a Fantastic video/drone footage, and transformation Tim 👍 😎❤
Walking that much will keep you in shape. That machine is a beast. Great job Tim.
The ride on version of that machine is called farm equipment! 😄
That flail mower is a great addition for the high stuff you do on Free Mow Fridays! 💚
Glad to see there is a ride on version
Chomp chomp crunch!
That thing cuts like a knife into butter. Sure is an amazing machine. Sad it's going to turn into housing. That's a beautiful piece of property overlooks a lot. Tim, it's amazing the work you put in. Love your humor 🤣. Well can't wait until the next video.
Bob’s your mother’s brother!!!!!! So glad to see the AS901 out to work!
Phil! I could make a dedicated flail channel based off your super chats 😂 thanks for the crazy support mate
It's sad to see the contrast from old big blocks to the slums of the future. People living on top of each other never works in the long-term
They have a ride on machine here in the states called Ventrac. It is a beast of a machine and comes with different attachments.
I’m looking to try one of those at some stage
Impressed how it went up the incline of the property so well
Incredibly impressed. 😮
What a fabulous new machine! It slices through that tall, thick grass like butter! I’m enjoying your vlogs!❤
That was hard work! You are a strong mate!! May the Lord keep blessing you with health and strength 🙏🙏
I love your content. Keep it up!!! ❤
Finally, you took us out to the “country”🤣❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🇺🇸
AMAZING!! The drone view is truly IMPRESSIVE 👀 AWESOME beastly machine you got there mate🤗🙌😎
love the drone footage, that was amazing
so here i am waiting on the 12 hr of bathurst to start, and timbo drops a new vlog!!!
Thanks for all the content you provide Tim!
Enjoy the race 👍
The race was good but the amount of safety car events was ridiculous. I'm watching Tim now that the race has finished.
@@bettinafullerton6452 Brocky would have never started behind a safety car for 2 laps cause it was "damp"
Great video Timmo 😊 excellent drone footage 😊
Tim, great job as always. Maybe they need some goats or sheep to keep it neat til destruction takes place! Thanks for all your content, absolutely love the vlogs! Love from AZ❤
Thanks Kim!
Tim that was a wow brilliant job ❤👏👏👏
excellent video! Thank you for showing your area. It is hard to see that the future is all that kind of housing. I know you said you live in a development like that and I am not knocking it. I too love to see the open land. But people do need a place to live. More and more people don't want to take care of yards and such. It is a lot of work. And wowsa that machine is awesome!
When you did the Drone like that in the sky looking down on u it looks like a grass mowing video game 🎮 !!
Love the drone footage! Glad you caught it! The flail is awesome! It does need a seat since it’s slow.
It hurts to see the beautiful green land turn to gray hardscapes. No trees, minimal bushes meaning no essential bees, birds, and bugs. 😢
Tim that pool looked like a science experiment. Chris from Sydney.
Loved the drone shots! Where I live in the states, most of the properties are the size of the one you mowed. I couldn't imagine having neighbors as close as on the new blocks. Not enough room or privacy for me.
Sad to see that this property is being broken up into 3 blocks. One where the current house stands, with a 5 storey apartment block with around 50 units in it, and the lower yard sections will be about an acre each, with 20 town houses on each allotment. Similar story for the place next door (the long fence line where he started mowing). It’s all in the publicly available planning docs. I can understand cramming 180 dwellings on 10 acres within a km or 2 of a railway station, but this is a 20 minute bus ride away from the closest station, which is then another hour into Sydney. Goes to show how lopsided development is when high density is so far away from where jobs are. And those areas much closer to the city are pushing back against increasing the density. Crazy.
What a chore. Good job. That's disappointing about the shopping centre. When they first started selling in that area, we visited the sales centre. They painted such a wonderful picture of what was going to be built. 1000m2 blocks around the outside getting smaller towards the town centre with lakes around it. It's slowly getting there just a shame about the shops. It's a beautiful area we live in. Looking forward to the next mowing adventure.
Thank you for showing us your area. I was amazed at how close to each other, your new housing is. 🏘 We have the exact same issue here in UK, with new housing going up everywhere, but as your country is so much bigger than ours, I was surprised to see that the same thing happens where you are. I agree, a bit more space would be nice. 🏡That mower of yours is amazing! What an asset. Love watching your vlogs. Nice to see a bit behind the scenes. Blessings from Norfolk UK.
Yes Australia is bigger than England, but most of it is desert or land that belongs to the traditional owners (aboriginal people). I have seen houses built where the gutters are almost touching each other, to me that's a fire hazard. I would never built a house now because of the small blocks of land.
Oh boy, all I can say is I'm glad it's you and not me!
Wow, that new mower is a beast! I believe, if it was any faster you would be trotting or running behind it, LOL. I loved your drone shots and seeing all about where you were. It's sad with all the building going on but it's progress. God bless you and yours, Tim, from Yuma Arizona, USA.
Tim’s new favourite toy 😊
Great Video as usual Tim... :)
Those houses: no point walking next door for a 'cuppa sugar', when you can just reach over into their kitchen from your own window....LOL
Interesting vlog Tim. I really love how passionate you are about all aspects of mowing! The drone work was great! See you next time.
That's a MACHINE !!! Love the drone shots !!!!
When the grass coming out turned red I was 😮😮🩸🩸😂😂
Its sad to see so many trees destroyed to make way for new houses, they should be told to replace the trees i think. You did an amazing job on that block with your machine.
A ride on platt form hooked to the back would be nice.
Great work Tim.
Aerial shots are awsome
Great vlog again 'those snakes should be afraid of _me_ lol. IMHO This is not a yard, this property needs a flock of sheep, or cattle for a free mooh Friday 😅
Tim! I have an IDEA!! If you attached a "2 wheel Sulky".... you would have a ride on flail mower! I've seen commercial lawnmowers with them so I know they exist!
look up the Cub Cadet 2-wheel Sulky! That little ride along attachment would make your life way easier!
or the "JUNGLE WHEELS BLACK 2 WHEEL SULKY" for less money!
That was probably a very hard job, but made to look easy and you did it beautifully. It is pretty much like that here in my town. Especially along the Cape Fear River. It has been taken over with neighborhood after neighborhood, when for years it was just woods. I'm glad I grew up when it was natural. But every available inch of wooded lots have apartments, condos etc. Nothing can slow down greedy developers once they get started. Have a great rest of the weekend!
Seems everyplace is getting developed and turned into track houses
You hit the nail on the head when it comes to climate change, the more land we lose, the hotter it gets with all the new roads, concrete houses, nothing to,do with gas emissions
Amazing job Tim😊
That thing ate that up. What a unit!
Purdue University in the US actually just recently developed a reflective white roof paint that lowers the ambient temperature of the dwelling by 10 degrees fahrenheit. Wonder when they're going to be rolling that out. Pun intended. 😉
Tim, I've seen those type of mowers that have a tow behind platform on wheels that you would stand on. If that is available, it would make those big jobs easier in lieu of a ride on version.
You need one of those little skids that you stand on behind the mower. They look fun.
That flail mower is a beast . Can only imagine how much fun u can have with it.
Way to go Tim, that machine sure does the job, but yes trying the ride on would be great to see.
♥️ Laura NZ
😅, too funny about the pool, some people 🙄🤦🏼♀️😅. If they want to swim in bacteria filled green water, go for it 🤮. Great machine , and epic work 👍 👌
Love watching what you do.
We're on 3 acres, don't want to ever go back to suburbia
impressive tool for your more demanding projects
Be well & stay safe
Love the drone footage for this bigger area
That looks awesome compared to how it looked before. xx
It is such a pity that humans invade so much land without thinking of the balance of the planet 😢. Great video.
That machine is a beast! Thank you for sharing the dichotomy of the changes going on, and letting us view your area.
Really like your video! Well done. For its size, that machine is a BEAST!!
Super interesting vlog Tim. Thank you. I would love some land. If only I won the lotto. I would buy somewhere like that block you just mowed and restore the existing home, and the swimming pool!!! My dog would love having the land to patrol and I could grow fruits and vegetables. We all have our dreams☺
There’s a lot of large properties in that region that have been swallowed up by developers expanding the endless estates of postage-stamp blocks. It’s a really sad feeling knowing how nice they used to be, then seeing them abandoned (some forcibly) and then get trashed as they stay vacant awaiting demolition. There was a whole bunch of them about 5 years back near a golf course not far from where this house is, and it was heartbreaking to see the vandalism - both of the houses, and all the green space & trees that are now replaced with hundreds of tile roofs.
i remember when i was younger i had to mow an abandoned property for my town there was 3 of us 2 massive ride on mowers (not flail) and it was impossible to use the mowers. so how easy the flail mower makes that look it crazy.
It just gets through it hey!
That would have been a great yard to make crop circles in! Haha nice job. 😀
Tim must get a ride behind the lawn mower attachment so it would be easy for you hope this suggestion helps
Nice Drone Footage View Video 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦 Take Care ❤️
Fun with the new toy!🤭😁
The flail did really well on that tall stuff. There isn't the "have to go double cut-it" phenomena.
I can remember a time where that whole area was essentially farm land - including Kellyville, which would be nearly impossible to imagine that area not being an urban development now.
It’s not that long ago we used to go to a swap meet in the (seemingly endless) paddocks just a stone’s throw from his storage place, and now it’s all houses and new commercial/light industrial subdivision.
Our council mows the local green space and parks with ride ons and a tractor towing a bigger version of your flail mower. I wonder if your local council does the same and you could organise a chat with them about mowing large green spaces with the different tractors ( depending on size of the space). The mowing schedule here can be a bit haphazard due to the weather, so sometimes the grass gets super long in the summer waiting for them to come back.
You should check out Ventrac as a flail tide on mini tractor. Great Co. & product. Plus it can pull a great vac for 1st. cut flail remnants, then switch to an 80” rotary finish mower attachment for “ like butter” finish cut. I Guarantee you + 10000 views for that blog. …
And the addition of a more than competitent site manager should increase your access to review equipment and maximum efficiency.
To coin a phrase: “ When you come to the fork in the road, take it.”…😅😅😊😊😊
Good to see you took my advice about the drone. I only charge a small consulting fee. We’re having a warm day today, too. Got the doors open at both ends. +6C and sunny. Shovelled snow off the deck.
I’ve had it for a couple of years mate I just don’t pull it out often 😂
@@timthelawnmowerman , haven’t seen any drone footage before. Useful on those massive properties.
@@garywagner2466Watch "She let me mow her Wild Overgrown Yard for FREE" dated Jan 30, 2022. It's 3 parts with Is this s Scam, ,#2 and #3. He uses the drone there.
Sounds like it's time to get a Tim2 - with equal lawn love who can pick up that other work!
Another great video, Tim “the Tool Man Taylor” “More Power” The Lawnmower Man 🙈🙈🙈🤭🤭🤭. Sorry Tim. Couldn’t help myself 🙈🙈. Anywho, that machine is a beast. What a shame those beautiful big blocks will be transformed into McMansions, within a dormitory suburb. I couldn’t live like that 😔. Have a great Sunday 👍👍 and an uneventful week. Cheers from a rather comfortable Central Queensland coast (lower humidity today yay)
Oh drone footage now,how good is that, great vid Barry 👍👌🙏👋
Nice one mate but what an absolute disgrace the councils are letting happen for $$ in nsw
Too bad about the house, it looks beautiful
Tim, I had no idea how expensive things were! The City Center could be used as a skate park? It would bring in revenue. The property looks great now!
Love The Drone Shots 👍🏻
With a flail mower, you don't have to cut it at a high setting unless you want to finish at that height, or to clear most of the rocks.
Your borderline OCD paid off. That's a beautiful cut, Tim.
For some situations, like this one, you probably need to have a small herd of 10 or so goats that you can rent out for a month or two at a time...
On a side note, as a firefighter, the small blocks and close-spaced houses must burn faster... you could lose a whole street if you got held up responding... at least the bigger blocks have a natural firebreak between buildings... fire has to jump across the fruit trees, not just the outdoor blinds flapping in the wind...
What was wrong with that large mansion? Couldn't keep up with payments? A shame it will be knocked down and the lot divided like the miniscule lots nearby. That machine must be one of the best purchases you've made! Keep up the good work. Stay hydrated!
I don’t read many other comments but you say ppl make comments on your safety gear? 🙄 I’m all impressed you wear goggles hat and snake boots and long sleeves most of the time. I grew up on 3 acres and when I got married we lived on 4 and everyone around us had 10 or as much as 100. (Ohio) Now I live in South Carolina (no snow lol) and I have 1/4 acre. I’m with you Tim. It’s so sad to see ppl not getting much property anymore to live on. You did a hard job here today. Well done
The powers that be won’t be happy till every piece of green grass has a building on it. 😢
Interesting commentary on your residential developments 😊TFS
Ok, that was impressive! I do feel really sad about all that development. I moved from a big city into a smaller town 20 years ago but even this town is too much for me. I'd rather live out in some open country.
This time you have really looked for the worst propperty, well it is a beautiful place, your equpment will do the rest, and everything will look like a paradise again. Walking is keeping you fit well done my friend❤😊
Sure got your steps in on That one!
Thanks Tim for the aerial view of the land, I enjoy that so much. Is the land too expensive to buy bigger lots or do people just not want the upkeep? Did you ever find out why so many houses are empty. (Housing) I think it was last weeks show you discussed it. 💚
Very expensive to buy even these tiny blocks.
The demand for housing in Sydney is causing smaller lots. The developers are buying up the old lots and sub dividing. People are camping up to buy new plots of land as they become available.
Yeah its sad that such a lovely area is being urbanised. It reminds me of where I live in South London and how that was urbanised. It was open countryside until the 1930s and now its completely built over. I guess its the same for Sydney as it grows it will eat up the surrounding countryside with "little boxes made out of ticky tacky" as in Pete Seegers immortal song! What also strikes me is that such developments are totally dependant on people having cars to get around. Its very American while the older buildings in the hill seem more English somehow.
A large house with double garage and pool is English? Yeah ok.
My tractor-mounted flail has the hammer flails rather than the Y flails, mostly as I do agricultural work and the hammers deal with small shrubs and woody weeds better - but I do like the Y flails for heavy grass.
What a surprise. ! There is also rural area in Australia !!!👍👍👍
I’m exhausted just watching u 😊doing all that walking. U need a step to stand on ‼️👍
Very Good JOB Tim
