This part of her yard was so overgrown that I thought a bulldozer would only be the answer to mow this lot down. But I still brought my mower (Toro Grandstand Multiforce) and mulched the whole thing down to dust. I was suprised at how well the mower handled this thick grass/weeds/shrubery. There were a few times where it seemed like it would bog down, however, it kept plowing through like it was nobodies business. well, honestly he could improve a lot. Beginning at the front and cut the grass away from the rest of the field. Cut lower, drive slower.
In the end, you save a lot of time and fuel. When you throw the grass to the unshaved field, you have much more to handle, that is unefficient.
This here looks like he is just having fun driving the monster.

I believe that was red clover Fill was mowing down. It was beautiful to see, and so good for the soil.
I believe the orange flowers are called Indian Paint, they are a wild flower.

I know you were mowing what the homeowner wanted, but it would have been nice to leave a little patch of the wildflowers for the bees and butterflies. You did an excellent job, Fill 👍🏻💚👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Theres a place for wildflowers to attract pollinators, family gardens are NOT it. For most people who have kids, the number 1 reason for owning a garden is somewhere for kids to play. You do NOT want to be attracting stinging insects, fungus, or anything like that where your kids are playing. Wildflower gardens are better for retired people with time and skill on their hands to care for it - and the fact this person let the lawn decay into a *JUNGLE* shows she does not.

He is meticulous, and catches his lawn cuttings, which makes for a clean finish.
@@larrymiller4 yes, that too. I watch several lawn care content from different creators. Collecting grass clippings seems like a norm in Australia but in America apparently is not (?). I don't know much, but I like it when a lawn care guy do that in their videos.
Actually unless the grass is really tall, clippings should be mulched and the nutrients returned to the soil. No reason to clog up our already over used landfills. I have baggers from my mowers which have never been used. In extreme cases yes, but normal weekly mowing shouldn't require bagging. @@imeldamery6501

You couldn't even see those mounds. They weren't small, either. I was kinda bummed when you had to mow down those orange Hawk Weed plants. Yes, I know they're a weed but I like them. Oh, well. The property looks way better than it did. More manicured and home like rather than overgrown farm land. Nice job, Fill!

Noting your mower is doing very well, because that is pretty wet material, in addition to being tall. Admired that you got the first area pretty polished, from going from quite high. Also that the owners have kept the place clean, you didn't look to be fighting metal, wood, cans, etc. Their idea for a wildflower meadow to look at looked to create a pleasant space.

What a beautiful place! I have to admit I was sad to see the little orange wildflowers and clover flowers go. They would have been good for the bees plus they look so pretty, but I guess you've gotta do what the client wants.

Great job as usual! I don't know if you spray insect repellent on your pants legs or not but in Mississippi, fleas and chiggers (red bugs) build big nests in this type of tall grass and they can cover you from the waist down very quickly. The very itchy bite sores they create can take weeks to heal. Don't ask me how I know. LOL. Thanks for the video!

@fillslawncare Why not just use a skid steer and smooth those mounds out after the mow of course. I mean that would make it easier to come back and maintain and its probably why the land owner isn't maintaining it.

It can be useful to keep a spare trimmer-head in the truck. Then, when you run out of string, you can just swap the heads instead of re-stringing mid-job. Then you can re-string the empty trimmer-head after hours and make it your spare. Great job here, by the way. What a transformation.

Fil you did a awesome job on this overgrown property, getting it back under control for the property owner(s). I think that this job would have been probably much easier to mow if you had a Ventrac mower. It would be awesome to see if someone would sponsor you with a new Ventrac mower, especially with all of the brush on that property & other properties you take on that are overgrown like crazy.

The bulk of this mow area are grasses, ferns and stinging nettles! Nettles and ferns are indicative of perennial wet areas. In this case the nettles are in full bloom setting seed for next year. They also propagate by shallow root structures.
