@@maxpowers4436 That was tongue-in-cheek in my case, but sure, if Lore takes a backseat during gameplay (or if you just feel like it), you can absolutely skip it in-game and watch videos like these or read the Wiki instead. Don’t take random comments too seriously, man.
Thanks for doing this lore summary for the prior season, missing out on cool quests and lore like this is why I low-key hate season/leagues. I always love seeing new editions to games but the impermanence annoys the crap out of me as somebody with a very sizable library with an unimaginable backlog. As much as I like to criticize POE for its various design flaws, one thing I can say that they do that I respect is how they made certain select mechanics permanent additions to the game. Whenever these seasons lead to or inspire new permanent additions to the game(s), that's when I start to warm up to them just slightly.
Season 2 is DEFINITELY the right direction. Starting to add some endgame content and making changes that actually work for the betterment of the game. As much as it is the "popular" thing to do is to hate on Blizzard (hilarious part is that 75% of the people that sh** post every D4 post from Blizz haven't even played the game for themselves! I've seen the SAME comments from the SAME people every single D4 post, they literally come back just to throw their negativity out there like it's their damn job)... I'm rooting for them AND the game. I'm a Diablo diehard, have been for a long time and anybody that truly loves this franchise like I do wouldn't just bash the devs, they'd give real feedback to make the game better and try to put it in the right direction. I can't stand the bandwagon hate Blizzard get's. The suits up top deserve it, not the actual devs in the trenches working hard to try to make a game we love and enjoy. D4 will eventually come into it's own, just like D3 did (people forget the hate D3 got when it dropped as well, now I see comments saying "back to D3 for me"... but I thought they hated THAT game too?!) and Season 2 already brought back alot of players that bounced early. I'm always fighting world bosses and doing events with a gang of people now. Wasn't like that before Season 2...
As a fellow member of the council of twelve (people who care about lore) I would be happy with more "lore nuggets" sprinkled throughout the world. Journals, flavor text, item descriptions, ect. - anything really. It's a shame all of the best world building/storytelling for this franchise seems to be left to out-of-game sources.
Very true. I've just finished my first playthrough of Lords of the Fallen, and as much as that game has problems, the lore ain't one of them. I'm gorging myself.
It is quite the interesting story and lore of lord Zir. Guess the original nephalem are not the only ones despised by angels and demons. Zir seems to intend to corrupt all sides with vampire blood and curse.
Did I skip through or read the story? Neither. I'm broke, I ain't got the money for a bad Diablo game, besides, that's literally what I'm subscribed to you for. To tell me about all the great stories I can't afford in both time and money to seek out. I appreciate your effort though, so thank you!
Appreciate the video! I'm conflicted if these seasons should have less or more story. More good story would interest me, but I have 0 interest in grinding levels inbetween two story quests so unless they really add in some serious story for each season (like one you can play through, leveling up along with it, not leveling up so you can do the quests), I guess I'm glad these seasons don't contain a lot so I and others won't be missing anything really inbetween expansions.
Honestly, the story would have been way better if Erys' brother turned out to be a bloodseeker, and being in his presence incapacitates or controls the player, forcing Erys to this time take action and kill her brother, sacrificing herself and entrusting us with avenging both of them.
This season they should of given us the blood knights from immortal, they’re already bringing the armour sets into D4, give us the damned vampire class!
Im really disappointed all this happens and Lorath just stands by the horse doing nothing, we could at least as him for advice also they should introduce at least one cutscene
Eris was not only barely even present as a character, she's also useless overall. She joins you only for the introduction to each stage of each portion of the story, and then she immediately retreats.
Thank you... I found the quest REALLY boring. Oh my God. Perhaps I am spoiled by Genshin Impact's lore and Voice Acting... I couldn't care for D4 Seasonal Event.

Real end game for me is to rush through the story and grind gear while listening to nyx telling me the lore of what I just rushed through. 😂
