The message behind his song is that he was going through a divorce. His ex wife had cheated on him and years after divorcing her, he wrote this song about it. The betrayal and love lost. The words,” I saw them with my own two eyes”, it’s all been a pack of lies”. He’s mad and everything gets you up to the drums. Then he releases his anger, emotions etc in the culmination of the song. He’s a master. Not many can touch him. I’ve seen him in concert twice and he’s AMAZING. His live versions can almost always be better then the studio release.

THE INTRO SETS THE SCENE. Sets the mood. This song isn't like any other song on the planet. You have to ease into it and the beat drop is EVERYTHING. The electric guitar, the piano and his voice is ALL you need until the beat drops for the most EPIC drum solo in history in any song. Phil is PURE GENIUS.

He was a drummer in the English band Genesis before becoming a singer. He started playing drums as a child.

Great reaction. I know you were really digging it, but if you haven't already done so, try watching the whole thing to see all the things going on - Phil is not only a phenomenal vocalist and drummer, he is also quite the showman!

Do not pause as the drums come in! This is one of the most famous drum breaks in the world. This man is one of the best ever drummers from the band Genesis.
Now go back and listen to it all the way thru without stopping.
    He’s the master. Bow down

I've seen a lot of reactions to this song but this is by far the greatest reaction. I wish Phil could see this. It would bring him back to one of his beginning days and his first times being on fire. He's always on fire but first times are best.
