@@zepp2582 Sir, please do some research. 1225s whistle was and always will be a *NATHAN 6* Chime. 1225s Nathan 6 was not used in the Polar Express, Sierra Ry 4-6-0 #3s Lima 5 was. OML🤦♂️this gets tiring having to repeat myself.
Hi Gabriella, Pere Marquette 1225, the locomotive in this video, was one of the inspirations for the locomotive in Chris Van Allsburg's book The Polar Express. He played on this exact engine as a child while attending Michigan State University Football games. In addition to inspiring the train in the book, it also provided the sounds and served as an animation reference in the movie, The Polar Express. If you're looking for a Holiday Train Ride that stays true to the book and movie, I can assure you this is the best one around! Not only are you riding behind the REAL Polar Express, but there is also a fantastic group of volunteers that work on the train. More information can be found at www.MichiganSteamTrain.com. Thanks!
So glad to see these old steamers running again. Such an important part of American Railway history.

What a beauty. Glad engines like these still run and do what they were bred to do. Fabulously at that too.

Now they just need the Polar Express consist! 4+ heavyweight coaches and observation car in the distinctive blue with red stripe paint scheme.
AussieChristophe27 that would require licensing to do such, as well as fresh paint which costs upwards of $3,000 each car.
Don’t forget the troupe of dancing hot chocolate waiters!
@@patrickchoque7720 Also acrobatic chefs and Tom Hanks dressed as the conductor and acting in character.
