My adrenaline rises whenever I here a big locomotive like 1225 accelerate. Something about steam locomotives makes me feel alive. I need to go up to Michigan sometime to ride it myself
last summer I was in my car on bellows street in Mt pleasant and I was waiting for the train to go across the crossing. the Pere Marquette 1225 was doing its summer run. I love that engine and that old whistle so much that when the 1225 was coming over the street I had to honk my horn and signal to the engineer to get him to blow the whistle for me one more time

It's going to be an awesome year. 2016 is the locomotive's 75th anniversary and SRI has a lot of exciting events being planned to celebrate it.
I have heard of that. I have also heard rumors of the SRI doing a Bluewater Chapter train to Grayling this coming year
