    You can increase the permittivity by adding a bit of silicon to the graphite, this creates lithium silicide which is more conducting than the metal organic mess while still allowing free flow of lithium ions. I do think more work should be done on sodium ion chemistry as it is far cheaper and ordinary iron can be used as the cathode material, specifically ferrocyanide and flourophosphate specifically.❤

    It is simply amazing that we don't fully understand the ion battery. We have millions of math equations and volumes of chemistry books and the top scientists around the world and a way to access information like never before. We still don't understand the nuclear bomb, but we dropped it anyway, so what's a battery? Small potatoes. There are millions of ways to store and use energy. My gut says we will have this conquered in this decade. Energy is everywhere you look.

      Nuclear bombs and lithium batteries are linked believe it or not. During the cold war lithium was processed to extract the 6Li isotope out and tons of the 7Li isotope were left over. Somebody realized hey this stuff is extremely energy dense, let's make small powerful batteries with it: Lithium iodine(in pacemakers or space rated memory backup), thionyl chloride (military and aerospace usrs) manganese dioxide (in cr2032's and most other common types) iron sulfide (AA and AAA types) and ion chemistries. ❤

    Respected Authors, there is a development timeline shown at end of the video. Is that timeline available somewhere, please.

    When activating the battery, which V and I parameters does one choose?

    Does the SEI layer have LI+ ( ions) bound in the matrix; if so where? Is the SEI layer electrically neutral? I know there are Li metal molecules in the SEi.Thanks

    so my question is during discharge ; why do the Li Ions which are positive charge travel to the positive cathode???

    • @arimiyauolubowale1261
      @arimiyauolubowale1261 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Remember Lithium is stable within the the oxide form, so since there is a favorable pathway, they are more than comfortable to travel back to their stable system

      @@arimiyauolubowale1261 Hey Arimiyau thanks for the response!!! Ok my background is EE so for me the only way the positive Li ions will flow to the cathode from the anode is this : the electrons which are flowing through the external circuit to the positive cathode flow through the cathode and set up a negative voltage at the cathode electrolyte interface and that attracts the positive Li ions. what do you think?

    • @arimiyauolubowale1261
      @arimiyauolubowale1261 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes! You have good point and to buttress you in a more chemical manner , remember the charge /discharge process is a reversible reaction. So during charging lithium ion moves to the anode (presence of SEI ) keeps the unstable lithium ion in good shape without any subsequent formation of new phase with the anode material , immediately it gets a pathway for the reverse reaction it quickly goes back to the cathode to fill back it's oxide form

    Is there SEI layer in All Solid state lithium ion battery? If yes, is there a reference for understanding it?

    Batterijen zouden erg belangrijk kunnen zijn als buffer in de vraag en aanbod van de energie, bijvoorbeeld zonne- en windenergie. Misschien is er toch nog verbetering mogelijk aan de huidige Li batterij , want er zijn onverklaarde fenomenen.

    • @Arnoud115
      @Arnoud115 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Helemaal gelijk, en er zijn ook verbeterpunten nodig. Voornamelijk de kosten maar ook zeker de energiedichtheid die sterk omhoog moet. Waar in de batterij zou je zeggen dat deze onverklaarde fenomenen parten spelen?
