    Some of mine include...
•(To purify) tag:In case I ever have a task where I need to purify a bunch of pokemon at once
•(2x/3x transfer) tag: for any time when transfers yield more candy
•(Shundo) tag: Which currently sits empty 😑

Here’s a couple of tags I use: a “rare candy” tag to track where to put my rare candy. I have a “power up” tag to track what I’m working on powering up or want to power up someday. “Nundo” tag for 0/0/0 ivs. “Need @special” for those Pokémon who need a legacy move. “Gym” for my brag Pokémon.

I'm really big on the collecting aspect, so I also tag:
Shiny Dex - (1 of each individual shiny)
L/M Dex - (1 of each legendary/mythical and their different forms)
Event Pokemon - (the different hats and costumes)
Variants - (Pokemon with multiple forms like Deerling, Unown, Castform)
    Regionals
Travel Catches - (Relevant pokemon that I've caught while traveling. Not necessarily Regionals)
    Also Hundos and Nundos

Thank you for the tips, Billy! Ever since Niantic added the ability to tag Pokémon in Pokémon Go for organization purposes, it's been a great feature. 👍
Here are the tags I currently use:
    - Great League
    - Ultra League
    - Hundo
    - Shundo
    - 2x Transfer
    - Check IVS (for PVP/GBL)
    - 1K Purify
    - CommDay@ (Pokémon with the special move from Community Day)
    - Besties
    - Regional
    - Legacy (Pokémon with legacy moves)
    - Mythical

Great to get insight on how you use tags. On the Mega tag I also include the ones that I intend to mega evolve once I get the initial mega energy. I will sometimes power those up in advance so they will be ready to use once I have the 200 mega energy. This is especially true if they are 100% mon.

I also use a search string to make sure I don’t delete any that I want to save to trade for XL candy.

Thanks for the tips Billy! I have a few that I personally use. 1. Add rare candies 2. Gym Defenders 3. 2019ers/2020ers/2020ers 4. And a fun one because these are rare (Caught in wild). I have used this tag for pokemon like zweilous, shiny espeon, salamance and aa ultra league rank 3 kingdra. 5. Nundos

I pretty much have all of these; the only things I would add to this list is a tag for each raid squad type i.e. dark squad, ghost squad, fire squad, water squad etc. The second thing I have that isn't mentioned here is a tag for my ivs because when you type 3* it doesn't let you know the specific ivs.

I usually tag all my recent caught 0,1,2 stars for trade then scan through on the appraise screen to pick out any pvp ivs then delete the junk and tag the rest to be for good trades. The tags are just like extra boxes from the original games. The 3 stars I usually sort through the entire list every few days to pick out the junk to trade or transfer.

A good suggestion in my opinion for Niantic would be to have dynamic tags. Let's say a "level 40" tag is a pokemon that has been powered up to level 40 but it is automatically assigned that tag. And if you power it up to level 50 let's say you have another tag "level 50" and it is automatically assigned to that pokemon and the "level 40" tag gets removed. Could be useful for many things like "2 moves" or "xl pokemon"

I have tags for shinys and trophy mon to show off, I have one for mon good for defending gyms (which I made after watching an old video by Billy) I have one for pokemon w/ cd moves. There is one for mon I need to fully evolve. And finally "Set aside" for pokemon that I have that I will be trading with specific people, and I also label them as for which is for each person
Instead of tags labeled "special trades" and "rare trades" I have Lucky Mirror, Lucky trade, Mirror and shiny for trade.
Which I find helpful to plan trades, as I can easily tag mon for trades I want the same thing in return aka mirroring or lucky trades of some I have but I don't necessarily have the same thing avalible for trade.
I also have some tags for GBL contenders for other cups like Little, Love, Halloween etc. most of which I want to work towards having either a stronger team for or need more/new Pokemon to build a team

    My naming looks like this:
    Lv.31| 99.6%
Then I tag Great, Ultra or Master league. The percentage is about the stat product for that specific league tag. The level is also nice to know...

I have a tag called Shiny Pokédex # when I keep just one shiny from every single pokemon in pokedex. So one shiny bulbasaur, one shiny ivysaur etc. and I have them named by their pokedex number.
Why? Well if you look into shiny pokedex it tells you only that at some point you had a shiny from a certain pokemon. You might have caught only one bulbasaur but because you evolved it into venusaur you will have three shiny pokemons registered.
On the other hand, when you open shinies in your storage you will see how many shinies you caught in general....meaning that you can have 300 eevees and it will be considered 300 shinies.
In my Pokedex there is one shiny from one pokemon in pokedex, so that I can not only track how many 'species' have I have caught in the shiny form, but to also track easily which ones I miss from a certain family. I'm hoping to get all shinies one day and it will be like scrolling through the pokedex only it will be all shinies :D
I know it is probably a useless tag but it looks a lot better visually than to scroll through my 15 eevees to finally get to another shiny pokemon.

Hi Billy. Quite the helpful video. But there is another way you can help that is more important. The Pogo community needs your voice more than ever. I am a nobody. I don't have a youtube channel. I'm just an average player and enthusiast. But please read what I write and, if you believe this is worth telling Niantic, please do. Even though this starts as a rant, it is meant with solutions in mind.
In the Lush Jungle event, Niantic stated that there would be a Weekend Park Spotlight where Cottonee would be spawning more frequently. After spending 2 hours of the event in a park, with consistent walking and incense, and cloudy weather boost, I saw a total of 4 Cottonee. Compared to other Spotlights, this was outright insulting and I’m choosing to ignore the rest of the event to write this, as this seems more productive.
Within the last year, the Pokemon Go Community has asked for Niantic to be more transparent. While some improvement has been made, it is greatly overshadowed by the times where there was no transparency.
Most recently, many in the POGO community were outraged by Niantic’s announcement that the April Community will be cut to 3 hours instead of the original Covid-safe version of 6 hours. The outrage stems from a lack of transparency. Niantic had listed all of the dates for the Alola Season at the very beginning of the season. While this helped in the transparency of what to expect, Niantic then completely uproots the trust of the community by changing the time with an announcement given less than a month out from the Community Day to change the time.
Their rationale was based on data that was collected from the Bulbasaur Community Day Classic and “Community Leaders.” While we appreciate Niantic sharing their findings and methods with the community, it was obvious that there were major issues with the findings that Niantic does not want to discuss with the community. They will not be listed here but a variety of Poketubers have made videos outlining the arguments.
The same can be said of the Incense nerf. Again, while they did state the rationale, the mechanics of the nerf seemed too extreme that it is hard to think that any player from the POGO community would have approved of the decision. Nerf aside, the rationale for Niantic was to get people out walking and interacting with the community again. Then why have a bonus for April Community Day where you are rewarded for sitting a lured pokestop instead of walking around? It makes it so that both of the mainly used premium items for events contradict each other’s uses.
There are more examples that can be stated, like the lack of dragons in the Dragonspiral Descent event, the Pay to Play of the monthly timed research from the Season of Legends, etc. But the point of this statement is for seeking a solution. Here is what the Pokemon Go Community would like to see.
    1. Actual transparency and communication with the full player base.
Surveys are the easiest way to get feedback for how the community thinks about the state of the game.
Here’s one scenario of how it would work:
You will release the survey on your website and share it on all of your social media via a link.
-Players will click on the link, complete the survey, and submit it.
-If enough players (let’s say 200,000) submit surveys, then a Worldwide reward is unlocked (could be a free box in the shop, could be a mini timed research, there are many directions this could go).
-To keep track of how many surveys come in, you could have the total listed on your website and in game (like what you do for the Worldwide catch/raid challenges).
-This is just one option but may seem to be the simplest. But then there needs to be some work on Niantic’s part where the surveys are looked through and reflected upon. At this point, Niantic will craft proposed next steps and bring the Community Leaders in for further feedback like what they have been doing. The only difference is that now the full community has a voice instead of a select few.
    2. A shift from detrimental and punishing game changes to promoting changes through incentives
The Pokemon Go community wants the game to succeed. They want to have fun and to embrace the direction that Niantic is trying to go. However, in trying to move the game to “back to normal” status, Niantic has sent a different message; one that punishes the players who have enjoyed the game up until this point.
A shift to promoting your direction as incentives would be more effective with the POGO community. Here are a few examples of how this could go:
Message Niantic wants to send: Our goal is to create experiences that encourage healthy outdoor exploration. -Taken directly from Niantic’s Safety FAQ Page.
    Change to promote message:
-All 1st time new pokestop visit will earn the player a random premium item (lucky egg, incense, Charge TM, Fast ™, Rare Candy, Basic Incubator, etc.)
-Boosting event spawns in certain areas (like how the Cottonee event was supposed to be).
-Either allowing players to get more coins from gyms that is not limited to 24hours, or allowing players that take a gym a safety of 1 hour (minimum) of staying in a gym before another player can kick you out. Most of the time, spoofers will kick out an in person player immediately after the inperson player takes the gym. This flaw inhibits the player's willingness to explore new gyms for the purpose of taking the gym to their side.
Message Niantic wants to send: Our goal is to create experiences that encourage…social gameplay. -Taken directly from Niantic’s Safety FAQ Page.
    Change to promote message:
-Simple Chat with preloaded responses. “Wanna battle?” “Wanna trade?” “Wanna raid?” This will help figuring out who can raid instead of waiting in the lobby and hoping someone will pop in to help.
-An ping button that allows you to signal to other players in game that you are in their immediate vicinity (80 meters) so that players are easier to find. Likewise, a setting option will be made available for players who do not want to receive this notification. This would not be a function in the kids version.
Message Niantic wants to send: Reward players…for moving and exploring. -Taken from Niantic’s open letter in response to #Hearusniantic
    Change to promote message:
-Make eggs worth the investment. Simplify the egg pool so that those who do walk 12k eggs won’t be constantly disappointed by what comes out. Or, boost the rewards of hatching eggs (more stardust and experience).
-More events that allow players to get more when walking (e.g., half walking distance for candy. Half egg distance.) This may seem counterproductive since it halves what they normally would do, but because they are getting more after each reward, players will be willing to do more to get more.
    3. Events that align with the original pokemon games or the in-game story.
This one is not a major concern for the community but more of a nice touch. The Hoopa storyline was pretty good even though it was really slow. The events that aligned with the story made sense and interacted well with the in-game experience of the player (e.g. Hoopa's rings bringing in pokemon, getting Unbound Hoopa at the end, etc.).
In contrast, the Season of Legends was a complete let down and made no sense. In the story, we did multiple events to try to unlock the locks on the door, but Team Rocket gets in with only a magnemite??? And then there was no pay off. No Arceus or anything relating back to the Pokemon Legends game (except Hisuian Voltorb but that seemed more of a preview of the Pokeball event than a reward for completing the Season’s Research). Within that season, the Dragonspiral event occurred, which was based on Dragonspiral Tower in the original Black and White games, but had almost none of the original pokemon in the wild (the sole exception being Dratini).
This, on the outset, seems like a simple solution. Craft the season’s story and include pokemon that fit within it. There are so many pokemon available that this should not be a big ask.
If you made it this far, I am grateful and appreciative. We all want what's best for the game. Please share and spread this as much as possible so that Niantic can see it.
    -MBM
