- ★ In this video I will be going over how to manage your Pokemon storage efficiently in Pokémon GO.
This is a comprehensive guide that will walk you through my own system for storage management. I've been playing free to play for the past 8 years and have just under 4,000 storage in total. The maximum amount available in the game is currently 7,800.

TIP: when tagging pokemon use a symbol like “ . “ before the tag, eg: .Transfer (i use .T), this way no pokemon will show up with names similar to your tag, also the tags can be much shorter (dont use stuff like @, or !, because they are used in search strings)

If you’re free to play and can’t keep purchasing storage, it’s worth spending the 49 minutes to save you hours of managing pokestorage in the future.

most annoying thing about tagging is the tags page, wish you could reorganise better, get longer names, more colours, had a grid option instead of list, and could remove the “preview” of pokemon with the tag
Being f2p, I have 1800 storage and try to keep 300 spaces open. I have to make myself rules, like no more than 3 of a species that isn't absolutely top tier. I almost never hang onto stuff purely for trading or candy - it just clogs up too much space. I'll keep shinies and legendaries for trades, but that's it, and com day shinies are low priority. For pvp, if it's not a top 200 I won't keep it.
Great for GO fest prep! Thank you, I love the depth and comprehensive guide. Currently doing my storage again. I’ve been using save search strings for; Hundos, PvP checks, High IVs (3*&15 in either Atk,HP,Def), Lengendary (to trash or trade), a Trade string, and finally a Junk It string after I’ve done all of those.
I’ve ended up collecting a few of the same ‘mon with similar “High IVs” like 12-15-15 or a 15-12-13. I’d much rather keep the 15 Atk for raiding and lose some bulk that a lesser DPS etc.

Awesome video! I appreciate it and your ideas a lot! I'm at my limit when it comes to Pokemon storage.
There were two things I felt really helpful in your video.
The idea of tagging lots of Pokemon in large quantities will most likely help me.
Also, saving search strings will save time for me when trading/transferring Pokemon.
Would be nice if the game had a way sorting Pokemon by quantity so I could see which Pokemon species I have too many of in an easy way.
I had no idea that you could reorder the list of tags. I have renamed the entire list before just to get things to the top.

Dope vid Lucky, i have my tags set up as Ace Pokémon, Trade-able, level 50, mega level 3, fusion legends , Tao trio, Aura Trio, Creation trio and etc , remove frustration, double transfer, purify, those are my tags

TLDW: categorize all the kinds of Pokemon you want to keep, and why, so you can quick filter for everything you don’t want or have a category for in order to transfer or otherwise clear up space.

Hello! I found your video EXTREMELY informative! (You worked very hard on it and it shows!) So I wanted to say thank you and ask a question. You said you kept pokemon to transfer during a guaranteed XL event but I've been looking and I can't find how frequent they are or when is the next one. Do you perhaps know how rare they are or if they come by often?
Since I only see double normal candy transfer events, and my pokemon space isn't the biggest I was wondering about those XL transfer events.
For the guaranteed XL candy, I was actually referring to trading when we have that special bonus active or from doing distance trades (100+ km away = guaranteed XL candy)

I have too many gimmighouls and never transfer them for some reason
For me it was Meltan, thennnn I just nixed them all
I have 7800 Pokémon storage. I’m F2P player. I can earn 200 coin per week if I’m diligent. I only have 20 spaces left. I have a lot of work to do.
The best storage tip I have ever come across is - do not expand your bag - the more you do the harder and longer this becomes.
The other thing I need is a list of moms that are not good in raids and not good in PvP like spearrow and it's evolution

Go to Settings -> General -> Turn on Expanded Group Transfer

my problem is I hang onto things cos people want them, but they insist on waiting till 4* friends to save dust, and then stop playing
I also don't keep anything under 91% IV unless its regional or rare like unowns
then must suck at pvp since lots of the best pvp pokemon under 90 iv due to needing low attack

Just enjoy catching the silly guys and have a good time if it’s too much. If you’re just starting, you don’t really have to worry about much.
Unfortunately this is too advanced for a beginner player. For now, I always leave one of each pokemon that I have and that's it haha
Having so little space and keeping pokemon for trades and transfer hours sounds like science fiction ro my ears

why is 1 attack good in pvp?
Atk has a higher multiplier and increased your cp faster. Lower attack means you get to have more hp and defense while staying under league cp.

What does the exclamation point and hashtag mean?
