    I've noticed one of my engine mount locations has chips in frame but no loose motor mount and I never touched that area... any idea why there would be pock mark/indents around the socket area where the engine mount goes on the right side of engine/bike?

      @@TomsTinkeringandAdventures I'm thinking original owner snapped that mount and it rode around in there possibly only explanation I've come to

    Seats removed 😂. Special tool = a punch and bike over the engine on some removals/installs. Always learning! Thanks again! Also, I have bike stands you can borrow anytime. Though, the rafters always make me smile.

    Hey sir, if I buy a hayabusa with no harness, Is there only two harnesses I need, the main harness and the Hermes’s that comes with the engine? I’m new to engine swapping so I’m just trying to figure it out

    • @TomsTinkeringandAdventures

      The main wire harness has most of the connections. You should carefully check a parts diagram for whatever year bike you are buying because things may change from year to year.

    Did you keep track of total hours spent on removal?

    • @TomsTinkeringandAdventures
      @TomsTinkeringandAdventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not exactly, but it probably took me two or three hours? Some of the bike was already disassembled and it was the first time I had done it, and I was shooting a video.

      Another Hollis Build I have tried a few editing apps, I’m pretty lazy about the editing process. I’m currently using Splice, the free version. I have also used FilmoraGo.

      Another Hollis Build that was actually me using time lapse on my phone. Splice has a speed feature, up to 10x or down to 0.1x.

    Lol here I am.....with the infamous 2nd gear Slipping!!! Gonna get a 2 way back-cut with brocks mod and counterbalance delete. Any other engine mods worth doing while the cases are split?
    P.S. Thats is the exact way I drop motors at home lol!!! Literally dropped the frame back down on top of he engine since it weighs more than the whole frame lol.

      I’m not really familiar with any mods that are a good idea to do, but that’s good thinking. Pretty easy engine to work on, glad that the transmission is accessible without having to take the top end of the engine apart. Good luck!

    That’s a aluminum rear subframe, it’s rare. Only 1999 2000 had it ?

    • @TomsTinkeringandAdventures
      @TomsTinkeringandAdventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, I wasn’t scrapping it. The engine was being reused and the remaining parts of the bike were sold to people needing them to keep their bikes going. If I didn’t care, I would have just used a sawzall and wire cutters.

    Seriously, you are destroying a bike for a stupid sand buggy

    • @TomsTinkeringandAdventures
      @TomsTinkeringandAdventures  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well it’s not a fully functioning perfect bike, and it’s not my bike. The sand buggy is pretty cool and everyone has things that they like. This engine got a second chance at life. Maybe not what you or I would want to see happen to it, but better than going to the scrapyard.
