DIY is always more satisfying than paying someone else !

Great vid man - just purchase a 2009 s83 yesterday, (only 3000 miles on it) and the first thing I wanted to change was the rear shocks, to get rid of the gap. So thank you - Happy riding :)

Awesome bro. I love it. I grew up riding and fixing dirt bikes, cars all that stuff. About to buy my first bike and chop it up a bit, lower it, etc. very good video my man. I respect what you do 👊😎 I’ll let you know how mine turns out

Good shit man! Every time I would do something like this when I was younger I would never hear the end of stupid comments about how it’s supposed to be an all that shit. Whereas, just like you did here, the product looks better,it’s closer to the ground for better handling and quite a few other benefits.
Sorry about the twenty year comment bro. Awesome work! The bike looks great and I guarantee that it is an easier ride just by being closer to the road and lower center. Keep ‘‘em coming brother!

Great vid brother. I'm planning to take the shocks off of my 750 Ace and switch to struts. I know it will be a stiffer ride, but I love the look it gives.

Excellent video. I have a 1993 750 Honda Nighthawk. Almost 31" seat hight. I'm having the seat lowered about an inch and a half. I believe I'll try your shorter shock swap. Bike does look much better with the shorter shocks. Thank you.

I have the same type of Vulcan as your’s and today while riding I was thinking about lowering it. They do sit pretty high in stock form.

I've never looked to see if my shocks push my bike up like that. I ride a 2009 Shadow Aero 750 stock to the Bone. If it ain't broke I won't fix it. I get a lot of compliments even from Harley Riders. Especially the ones that have switched from Honda to Harley. They're seldom happy with their decision.

Would this alter the geometry of the bike and effect the steering/braking ?

It actually feels better now because the original shocks made the bike taller and the center of gravity was higher so it felt more heavy. No difference in any negative way ...just positive change in my opinion. On the other hand you do not want to lower any bike so much that will prevent you to lean into the turns because you hitting the ground with your exhaust or kick stand...so generally 2 inches lower is where I draw the line...in this case the bike got lowered 1.5 inches....thanks for your comment and please subscribe to help me out

As long as the mounting holes on the shocks are compatible, and if they aren’t, you can always modify either the bracket, or the shock, if you have some basic tools and are savvy with that stuff. Draw it up, and measure twice. 😉
