- Day in the life of a plumber
In todays video I second fix the wet room job that we started the other week. I install the basin and electric shower, and also second fix the radiators. I then swap out an old vented water heater for a pressurised one.
As always, thanks for watching, all the support is greatly appreciated

@@PlumbLikeTom no problem. Either too much water or not enough. Story of my life, usually on a large pipe like a 12” or bigger.
Hi Tom - you work ridiculously hard so some relaxation time is well deserved.

That last one was a tester Tom, the mysterious world of plumbing, but you got there in the end. You take care and have a break, the work never stops does it, but folk have to wait, enjoy the football ⚽️👍🚽
Thanks for the support as always Peter, I was pleased to get that last job sorted, they hadn't had hot water for years but who know why the stop tap had been shut

Hi Tom you work hard so yes you deserve a little time out mate, you said that the pipework under the sink you may get knocked for I would to see anybody do it better, top job👍
Thanks for the support mate, the pipework looked weird so I thought I might get a few comments saying I should have done it differently
Hi Tom, that water pressure was a right pain but you got it sorted mate. Some nice jobs coming together now. Thanks for a great film. Don’t put yourself under pressure Tom, if you only manage to upload one film that’s fine. All the best Tom. 👍👍👍

Good work Tom. Was good luck finding that old stop tap accessible and it working or not leaking after u opened it
I don't know how long it had been closed for, they hadn't had hot water for years so I guess a while, thanks for watching mate

@@PlumbLikeTom 👍👍👍👍👍
Famous last words Tom
Great content as always Tom, who turned rge water iff😂😂
I don't know mate, they hadn't had hot water for years, I was asked to price to put an unvented water heater in, I guess the problem may have been that stop tap shutting off the blended supply but I don't know why it had been shut
What was the spanner Jacob was using on the water heater 👀 Id like one
It's the were a joker, his one only does 15mm but the xl one does 22mm, mmplumber uses them a lot, thanks for watching Nick
Nice one, Tom. I thought your van had some ply racking in the back, or was that the old one?
I do have a ply shelf separating the side door, it has fallen over a bit though
They are going to tile AROUND the basin ?!?!?!
It's just down for a 1 tile splash back, thanks for watching
Were you working in Lincoln today Tom?
Yes mate
@@PlumbLikeTom I knew it! I wanted to come and say hello but I had a dentist appointment to get to.
I’m a heating engineer myself and enjoy your videos. 👍🏼
8:31 Tom, how is this 90 degree elbow (15mm male to 15mm compression) called? I am stuck with my search on toolstation 88121 "Made4Trade Compression Elbow Chrome Plated 15mm", but it is not that....
Actually 10:42 gives a better view. I need something like it, but instead of push-fit, I need compression towards the copper pipe from the wall
I will see if I can find a part number, my local supplier stocks them
Just a question Tom, why did you install a TMV under the sink if the tap is a mixer. I just want to know, thank you
The tap opened fully round to the left would provide unmixed hot water, therefore creating a scald risk without a TMV. Scald protection might be a requirement in some settings where there may be vulnerable people etc
@@chrismac7777 oh I see, thank you. but if you do have a mixer Tap does it fall into legislation still? to have a TMV?
The tmv was spec'd on this job, It's not something you would normally have in a domestic dwelling for a basin but it's what they wanted, thanks for watching
@@fumetsudragons418 Can't say for sure but I would assume so as basic mixer taps still provide a scald risk for vulnerable people in healthcare settings etc if the tap is opened unmixed on the hot side.
Thermostatic Mixer Taps would be different as they blend the water inside the tap so a TMV on the supply pipe would be pointless in that situation.
@@chrismac7777 Thank you Chris and Tom for the clarification
Those pesky 'stop tap goblins' in lofts... I dunno....
I know mate, who knows why someone had turned that off, thanks for the support as always
Off
