Sucks you ended up with holes in your front end. Ugh. I just picked up a 19 BRZ in Ontario, got one of these Platypus offset mounts and installed it today off the tow hook. The car was brand new off the lot, dealer was not a fan of drilling holes on my new car so no holes :) Love the offset look!

Thanks will do. I was just pulled over by the police for not having a front license plate on my Audi S4. I just got the tow hook license plate device yesterday. I will hook it up this weekend.

I added a couple drops of permanent strength Loctite to prevent the screws from vibrating loose.
Great idea! A little loctite blue can’t hurt.
try thread lock also...vibrations may loosen it after time...sorry if this was said already
I installed one of these on my M2 Competition. It not only would never stay still and set off the sensors constantly, it wound up damaging the bumper.
I wound up buying a Sto-n-Show which was much better. But now I've got an RS3 and Sto-N-Sho doesn't make one for it. Unfortunately I've been pulled over twice, so it looks like I have to go with this again. Not happy
Great video, thanks! But isn't that other little piece near the tow hook cover a headlight washer? Doesn't it block the headlight washer from coming out?
Kevin Zolitor I’m not sure, but I’ve never been in a position where I needed to rely on that. Headlights stay pretty clean.
when you hit your washer fluid switch, does the headlight washer door hit the plate at all?
It looks like it blocks your head light washers. They open every time you wash your windows.
How does it holding when you drive in high speed? is it still intact?
Does your headlights washer on the plate side work propperly??

Can't find anything like this for EU style plates
so it's only held in place by one screw? gotcha.
also, my plates currently have special screws to deter theft, if I get this bracket will all that be for nothing? (ie. is it easier to steal a licence plate using a tow hook bracket compared to a regular bracket?)
There are holes for screws to fix the license plate to the mount so I guess you can use special security screws without issue. The plate mount is bolted to the car with a single bolt. If you do a better job tightening that bolt then I did the first time should be no problem. If you’re worried about someone stealing your plate after all that, I don’t know what to say. There’s realistically nothing more you could do with a regular license plate mount that is any more or less secure other than moving out of the ghetto or whatever kind of neighborhood it is where people will steal a license plate. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Does the mount totally cover the opening after screwing in the toe rod? Concerned about salt getting into the bumper. I live in a salt belt state.
Does it block the front sensor's coverage?
Moreover, the headlight washer as well.

suther Singh I don’t have any front sensors on my 2015 S4, so it was not a problem for me. I’d recommend just taking your license plate off and centering it over the front tow hook spot to see if there’s any interference. I haven’t seen any interference with headlight washer.
Ive installed one similar and it disrupts the sensor
I don’t have forward parking sensors which might explain why I didn’t experience that issue.

I have this kit looks ok but car wash brushes smack the plate around scratching the paint.....the one screw in back is not enough to keep plate still.....I always have to take it off n put it back on
I'm a hand wash / touchless was guy for this reason and more. Scratches and swirls are not your friend.
Same thing happened to mine. It actually bent the plate folded it in half the first and only time I took it to the car wash. I’m taking off the mount, moving to a state that doesn’t require front plates.
Mine isn’t very tight either… i find it loosens up every time I drive on the highway! Any suggestions on how to fix this??

John Lee Unfortunately, I cannot say. My 2015 S4 didn’t have front parking sensors.

I haven’t been using it recently just because I stopped running front plates altogether. The plate holder worked great. I think I started a thing at work because everyone got one of these after I did. ;-)

Don't use those adjustable wrenches. Real tools would get it as tight as you want.

James Boniface Interesting story here. I was going to buy a nice set of wrenches, but somebody online told me to buy a real set of tools. Unfortunately for me, I don’t take well to people telling me what to do. I do better when people offer advice instead of criticism like when someone says, “A job like this would be easier and faster with nice set of wrenches instead of those adjustable ones.” It’s a real character flaw, I know. (－‸ლ) In any case, to this day, I refuse to buy a set of wrenches. True story! ;-)
