One of my favourite aspects of this episode is that we got a good glimpse of the real Verosika, a woman who had her heart crushed in a moment of vulnerability and who has a genuine desire to help and support those who were hurt by Blitz, give them a chance to process their feelings and maybe even heal.

A good detail is that Verosika starts by calling him Blitzo, but at the end of their conversation she calls him Blitz, she understood he actually meant it when he apologized to her, that's a great detail.

Like tex I can see being at the party cause he works for Verosika as security. But the bar is pretty damn low for having Dennis there if it's a people he fucked over party.

All the comments asking about Tex being there. Not only is he Verosika's bodyguard, he's also dating the Queen Bee of partying, who he regularly helps to keep the parties a good time. Him taking backup vocals helps Stolas vent and start getting around to putting out more positive energy. So yeah, he's just doing what he knows
Yeah. Him being security for verosika is something that confused a lot of people. Since he is dating Bee him also working a normal job confused a bunch of people and the finale of season 1 coming out after season 2 started was hard on people doing lore. Some people probably still haven't seen it.

Blitzø finally sees what his self destructive tendencies and behavior has done and realizes people DID love him but he shut them out before it got serious. Verosika definitely cares about Blitz and hopes he can change. Also, Stolas singing a rock ballad is something that wasn't on my apology tour bingo, but I love it!
"There is a crowd full of people here, who cared so much, they throw an entire fucking party about hating you, every year! Do you know how much you have to care to do something as stupid as that?" The most based. Almost feels like a callout by the writers honestly.
Imagine having so many people fall in love with you that you pushed away, and they throw a party dedicated to hating you, and most of them break down and cry at the memory of you, and you still cant seem to get it in your head that people care about you.
We see that Blitzø can be a cool Guy to be around. Verosica even said "the Fun Guy i was dating", which tells us that he was'nt abusive in all of those Relationships. Losing someone who acted all cool and normal, until not and than dissapears might hurt even more than an abusive Person.(or Not, i am neither a Therapist nor have i ever been in an abusiv relationship) They all need Therapie ❤😭
As someone who heavily relates to blitz (although i’m farther along in my journey than he is), self hatred is a hell of a drug that alters the world around you in such a twisted way that once you start getting better, the world you lived in when you were broken is almost like another dimension.

There's a detail I love about how they sing the word "Motherfucker". The first time, it's just Verosaka and Tex. The second time, it's all three. The last time, it's just Stolas.

Okay, around 25:42 when Stolas is breaking down, he sounds SO much like when Octavia was crying at Loo Loo land. Fantastic work by the actor and director.

Verosika instantly turned into one of the best characters in the series this episode. Something someone else pointed out in another comment section that he didn't think of right away is the fact that she is also a succubus. Her whole life, her existence is to be a slut, and to close off her feelings for the people around her for that purpose. Yet the one time she felt something, actually loved someone and came out to them, she was immediately ditched. I can't even imagine the insecurities that most have done to her, not just the trust issues, but confirmation in her mind that she must never be anything other than a succubus. This episode didn't just give so much context into how she felt, but also how incredible of a person she is, spending all this time for the people who were hurt like she was. I think everyone expected a reveal into her past and how much she was hurt, but I don't think anyone was expecting this kind of development from her. I hope we'll get to see more from her, maybe even play an active part in mending Blitz and Stolas' relationship. I would LOVE to see a scene where Stolas and Verosika just shit-talk gossips over relationships and Blitz
And another thing… Verosika is not even the only succubus that Blitzo slept with. At the party, we see multiple succubi/incubi, (including the succubus that’s making out with a shark imp) which implies that not all succubi and incubi indulge in lust for its own evil sake; but some indulge in lust because they can’t tell if someone would love them for anything more than their bodies (or something like that)… it also shows that Blitzo is so exploitative of others, that even some lust demons are personally hurt by him 😓😓

When you hear both sides of the story it starts making sense Verosika isn't really an asshole she's just hurt. A succubus shouldn't hold attachments but she did and has probably never felt love since Blitz. Blitz maybe hurting himself from not wanting "Love" but he hasn't thought of everyone else who felt something towards him I hope what Verosika has said really woke up Blitz to change his ways and be someone better
It just dawned on me a mind blowing realization. Verosika knew that Blitz was at the party the whole time. Even when she was performing on stage with Tex and Stolas. She could have outed him at any time and easily whipped her bitter, vengeful, drunken party guests into a frenzy to beat the living hell out of him (no pun intended) but was she clearly pretending to be none the wiser about him crashing the party. That proves that deep down a part of her still cares about him in spite of what he did to her. But the best evidence that she knew he was there the whole time is the fact that she was completely unfazed by him coming to talk to her while all the guests just happen to conveniently be distracted. Even her tone of voice when mentioning his “apology tour” seems to heavily imply that she was expecting him. In other words, she went to the top of the stairs to deliberately wait for him and to emotionally prepare herself, she smoked a cigarette while she waited in order to calm her nerves, likely to keep her pent-up anger at bay as a way to emotionally restrain herself from wanting to loudly chew him out which would have made a scene and thus defeated her entire purpose of letting him save face by talking to her in private. This episode was absolutely brilliant and how it subverted the expectations of such a scenario where in a story like this, the person whose secretly in a place where everyone dislikes them usually has their cover blown. Not so this time, in this show he enters and exits the party and no one, except Verosika and Stolas are ever the wiser. That was a very refreshing subversion of expectations. I wouldn’t be surprised if the reason why Viv decided to do it that way is because Blitz had already been outed in the episode that introduced Ozzie. If she had done something like that again here in this episode, it would’ve just felt like a re-hash of a scenario she had already done so I’m glad she went with a more subtle and downplayed scenario. You know what they say, sometimes in the world of drama “less is more” and I grant you that doesn’t always have to be the case but when it works, it REALLY works and this episode clearly pulled that off and then some.
Verosika also hates Blitzo because after he dumped her, he stole her credit card and maxed it out on horse-riding lessons. And, Verosika knowing Blitzo was there the whole time without saying stuff like “excuse me everybody” isn’t the only great detail/realization of this episode… the invitation she sent to Stolas also implies that she has her own private intel network, solely to keep tabs on Blitzo plus whoever he’s currently dating, so she can send them an invitation shortly after Blitzo dumps them. If that’s also true, then Verosika’s crew can put Blitzo on blast anytime they want…
The two things i loved about Verosika party was the guy thats dancing with Stolas flew up to be at his height to spin him around, it was a small detail but wholesome. Then their Verosika conversation with Blitz; she could have easily ripped off the sheet, scream looks who here, and thrown him into the literal lions den. Instead she had a heart to heart conversation with him about what has done to her and everyone around him.
The thing that gets me the most is how many people are GENUINELY heartbroken about blitz at the party. Yeah you see a good amount of "we had a one night stand the bitch" but you also see a whole lot of people who look at so much of a picture of blitz and start to break down. The throwing knife guy, the girl sitting on the stairs, crying and drinking. Verosika herself. Blitz could very well be the best partner you could ever ask for if he didn't hate himself and ditch everyone.
Kinda funny that a show showing the outlandish sex and violence of demons in Hell does such an amazing job addressing the complications of relationships.
The Mayberry caught Marth in bed with her husband. So she TRIED to kill Martha and then killed HERSELF in remorse. When she realized she failed to kill Martha, she hired IMP to do it. And now their together!?!?!? Love = Hate, and Hate = Love.

That's so on brand with the rest of the episode, where the main reason why people hated Blitzø at the "Fuck Blitzo" party is because they tried to love him.
Funny thing is, while Blitz not telling Stolas about the first assassination attempt was f'd up, Stolas was literally sitting across from the person who ordered it, telling Striker to try again at any cost, and didn't notice.
i have NEVER been invested in a couple on any type of media, be it a TV, Books, Games or comics; until i saw Stoles and Blitz, the last episode and this one legitimately made me, not only, be upset but reflect.
It made me completely lose interest in the series, personally. I did not like this episode at all. I genuinely hope the people who stick with the series continue to enjoy it, but after this, I'm clearly not the target audience for this. For reasons I'm sure nobody cares about, this episode just ruined the entire series for me.

Both songs were absolutely phenomenal in this episode also yeah those guys trying to summon stolas when he was already there and then stolas casually saying “I was told there would be cake” and then the blood of the sacrifice splattering over him was hilarious (also real life stolas from the Ars goetia from the lesser key of Solomon is kinda cute looking)
I like that Verosika basicaally handed blitz the slice a cake basically saying "Eat your heart out." I also hope that imp/incubus dancing with Stolas isn't using him. Like he only came up to Stolas immediately after Stolas practically shouted the perfect way to play him, and he is rich and powerful. That being said, it would also be a great message about how some times nice people are just playing you while assholes can have good intentions, just not a great way about seeing it thru.
The thing someone mentioned in another comment section that I read was that Verosika was holding onto the dark heart piece because it was a metaphor for her belief, but when Blitzø showed that his heart isn't dark and unfixable, she gave it to him because she didn't want it anymore, showing that he changed her mind. Verosika is my favorite character because the venom in her voice when she talks about him feels so real. She truly loved him and he can't fathom love, so he broke her heart by getting scared and running off.
20:06 That is the moment where Blitz FINALLY gets his wake-up call. He finally understands just how many people he’s hurt, and how badly he hurt them, with Stolas being the biggest train wreck he’s ever orchestrated. He’s FINALLY feeling remorse for all of that at once and sees the mess he made.
There's so much depths in this episode, it's wild to think that it all just started with a bunch of imps getting paid to kill people in the living world. Returning characters, even side ones, everything we learn about how Blitzo, Stolas and even Verosika feel... That's such detailed writing.

Love is defined differently for everyone. The point was that Stolas didn't need much from Blitz to feel loved. He just needed to be asked to dance. or to share a milkshake. or to go for a walk in the park. or to share an umbrella in the rain. Some people are hard to love and some are easy. Stolas is so easy to love that it takes almost no effort at all and Blitz still fucked it up because he just did the bare minimum level of required interaction because he didn't see it as love at all, he didn't even see it as a relationship really, he saw it as part of his job.

The only problem i have with this episode is the show has decided it wants to choose when to look at Stola’s faults compared to Blitz’s In the first several episodes of season 1 stoles is the one who is inappropriately flirting and playing dirty with Blitz in public, refers to him being a little iddy biddy imp who a grimoire is not meant for and being kind of lustful and condescending to blitz in the first season episodes If you remember the harvest festival episode that introduces us to Striker, Stolas openly is being publicly thirsty for Bltiz and Blitz is not having it it’s not till Episode 7 and 9 that Stolas seems to change his approach to Bltiz and starts being less of a thirst trap and more of a sweetheart. but now the show wants to pretend like Stolas never did that (he grew better over the season to now, but still) and that Stolas is innocent and only Blitz has blame Blitz definitely needs to be called out on the fact his self hatred destroys himself and everyone around him. from his family and friends to his love life, and that is important I get that, but Stolas has had some faults, and yet this episode seems to stand as a reinforcement that No stolas has no blame at all, and it’s only Blitz at fault. and I have an issue with that, Stolas is not totally innocent, his approach to dealing with blitz was well intentioned, but it wasn’t done in a way that would allow Bltiz to see it as something other than a controlling move, The show seems to state, they both have flaws and have done things wrong, but then only focusses on Blitz while trying to then present stolas as being perfect.
I felt the same way for a while, but then I realized that they aren't outright saying that Stolas _wasn't_ at fault, they're just choosing to focus on Blitzø's (valid) faults instead. Given that this is just one episode of an ongoing series, maybe they're planning to focus on Stolas' faults later. Come to think of it, I think I've heard that Blitzø and Stolas are endgame, which (if true) means that Stolas' relationship with the incubus isn't going to last. Maybe it'll end up falling apart because Stolas makes the same mistakes with him that he did with Blitzø, and that'll be what causes Stolas to realize he owes Blitzø an apology of his own. ...Hell, maybe something like that already happened in the two episodes I haven't gotten around to watching yet. Or maybe something else happens instead that debunks everything I just said.
Two things shocked me in this episode. The fact Blitz never told Stolas about Striker trying to assassinate him at the harvest moon festival. Even Moxxie yelled out Striker’s name out loud as if he knew him, while the phone Stolas called them on was on speaker. So Stolas not knowing was a big shock And secondly. The fact Martha and the Teacher got together somehow. The fact the Teacher tried to kill her since she used her husband to cheat on both her and her own husband. She killed herself after killing people in front of children. Goes to IMP to have them kill her after she suvived and people called her a hero despite her being the shitty person. And all that just for them two to get a scizzor going. I was just, W…T…F…

I do think it's funny rewatching the beginning. Cuz towards the end, Blitz is being serious and he's actually spilling his guts, but in the beginning you have to remember that he speaks in raw emotion. At no point while he's screaming at Stolas does he mean ill, he's just trying to say everything the only way he can process it.
Exactly, and i think at this point Stolas kind of realizes that, but he's tired of it. Like he was married to an abuser for 17 years, even if he knows Blitz is being earnest, he's likely not going to settle for earnesty delivered with a side of insults and screaming.

sadly, Blitz was only with her for the Crystal, then when she confessed her feelings, he ripped the bandaid off. since he felt she'd be better off, after all he would have looked at her just like how he thinks Stolas is so beyond him.
Martha became a red devil instead of a cannibal...so theory is Sinners take on a form that combines how they died, their personality, with their major sin or sins...like Valentino being Greed and Lust so combines elements of Mammon and Asmodeus. If true Martha was mostly wrath...also the school teacher and her getting together is hilarious, I wish we could get more follow ups on the people they went after (maybe as shorts). Also had a feeling Verosika wasn't as bad as some fan stuff makes her out to be, we only saw her briefly and her having beef with Blitz shouldn't automatically make her an antagonist.
Blitz wants to love someone, but he doesn't know how. For example, Verosika loved him, but Blitzo broke her heart. [He has a tattoo of the name Blitzo crossed out on his arm.] Plus, being younger, he has some kind of love interest in Fizz. #S02 E06 Flashback Circus Fizzy has a birthday Ps if you have seen helluva boss season 2 trailer then you know it was shown part of flashback with younger Verosika.

This is mostly a comment about Full Moon because, well, I kinda missed that upload and this one's more recent and also Some of it involves this episode. Anyways, an important thing to note, Stolas is... pretty squarely at fault for how things went there for never actually communicating and expecting a grand gesture and a lot of subtext to work when Blitz can barely read text at all and has no reason to think Stolas thinks of him as anything more than an imp plaything. We can see Stolas's texts in some scenes and... yeah he did not do shit to actually let Blitz know that they need to actually talk, giving him so many outs and ways to avoid the interaction and then getting lost in his own head trying to focus on his fantasy of how everything could go right to avoid any of the actual fucked up feelings swirling around in his head, which, I mean, I can sympathize, but that's not really an excuse when he's going out of his way to try and change their relationship for the better and Blitz doesn't have any reason to think that there's any potential for a serious relationship to be change in the first place because Stolas is so casually dismissive of any complaints he has, regularly treats other imps as lesser, and almost always makes everything Relentlessly Sexual even when Blitz is literally getting shot. Not to say Blitz didn't fuck up either, but also he had no way to prepare for anything that Stolas was springing on him because, well, Stolas didn't Give him any time to prepare or think, it was all an ultimatum and then dismissal before Blitz could even fully process that it was serious, and then actually pretty reasonable anger that Stolas sprung this all on him, and Blitz isn't even really Wrong about any of the stuff he says to Stolas either because... well, again, he does treat imps as lesser, Blitz only really seems to get a pass because he thought of them as childhood friends but he doesn't really give a shit when another imp gets hurt, treating his butlers like objects to be picked up and moved around and showing no concern when he squeezes them like a stress ball or they get thrown around and clearly injured. This whole episode was Blitz needing to learn and understand that his actions have consequences for others and that as much as he hates himself others Do love him and he needs to actually put thought and care into that, to actually put that trust in others that they won't fuck him for it in a bad way. Now I'm thinking it's probably gonna be Stolas's turn to see exactly how much he's fucked up, how much he's used Blitz as an escape and how as much as he wants to think he's better, he Still has internalized bad shit from the rest of the Goetia and actually does need to work on himself so that he can treat others properly, and based on the trailer I'm guessing that's starting with Octavia given how much he's unintentionally neglected her, both in putting his attention on Blitz and trying to get through his divorce. Also, sidenote, I'm pretty sure that he's just there as Verosika's bodyguard but the idea of Tex being one of Blitz's exes is really funny.
I’m glad that someone is finally saying that Stolas is partly at fault. everyone completely ignores the fact that Stolas has hurt, blitzø and has talked down to him on multiple different occasions.

It was very on point that Blitz ended up with the heart from "his" cake. The phrase "eat your heart out" goes into play there. Verosika basically told him to live with his regrets with that gesture.

When you see Blitzø wrapped in the sheet watching in awe as Stolas sings, he looks like a child, a scared and scarred child, which is sad cause deep down he is
This episode was incredible, its one of the few that really hit me hard and brought me to tears. After watching it i just sat with the video paused for a few minutes just letting the emotions swirl and simmer like I didnt want to watch something else to quickly after it ended thats how hard it hit me. Speaking of animation: a new pilot dropped earlier this week. It is called "Dungeon Flippers," and it is about realtors in a fantasy setting. Not going to say anything more, as I don't want to spoil anything.
As much as I’m proud of Stolas standing up for himself this episode, that comment from him in the beginning about “when have I ever looked down on you?” definitely shows that he’s still not able to see where he has messed up in the relationship. But this was a good first step, and I’m glad Blitz is finally gonna start taking accountability and work on himself
I think this episode dropped the amount of Respect I have for Vortex a bit. Aside from winning that contest, Blitz has not hurt him at all, he only knows Blitz as Verosika's Ex and Luna's caring Father. I can get if he was normally a Backup singer for Verosika, then it would be his Job to sing with her on stage, but he is her Bodyguard. He had no reason to get on that stage and lambast Blitz like that, he doesn't know Blitz, they have never had a conversation aside from the few sentences of Blitz being overprotective of Luna. He also knows how Damaged Blitz is and how self destructive he is, he saw him at that party. You would think that having a Girlfriend as Empathetic as Bee, would have some of her Empathy rub off on him.
Have you ever considered that Verosika (the person who he's around most of the time) might have told him about how Blitz hurt her badly at a vulnerable moment and robbed her? Plus, if he's going to these parties, he's heard probably dozens of stories of Blitz being a piece of shit. Vortex has 0 reasons to give him the benefit of the doubt here.

@@SpellCastor That actually makes sense. I was on the same page as Kuma until I read your comment. It just felt like the opposite of a Mary Sue situation to me when watching it. Like "We need Blitzo to be the bad guy even though Stolas is very clearly the worse person by his own admission so let's have the guy who's never met him join in on the literal hate party." The episode overall is still way too biased in stark contrast to the previous episode but at least Vortex's role in it makes sense. It's mostly just Stolas who's not making sense.
This episode was good, but I wish that they went into Stolas being hypocritical with his “little imp” talk. Even if unintentional, and he means well, its still confusing. I wonder what will happen next time.
I think that might happen eventually because at this point only Blitzø knows that and he won’t exactly call him out at this point honestly I think Octavia will be the one to call him out as (from what we’ve seen) she is the only Goetia who doesn’t treat imps as lesser (intentional by Stella and unintentional by Stolas)

I think what Stolas said pretty much some it up "They care so much they throw a HATE PARTY, do you have any idea much they care to do something stupid like that?" The Songs this episode are just SO GOOD! Like I already had sympathy for Blitz and Stolas but DAME those songs got me even more so.
One bit that shocks me is that this episode lowkey confirms Satanism actually WORKS. They actually got Stolas to show up at a "Party" dedicated to him. Which means you can probably find the right devil worshipping trick to call Lucifer or something.

My problem with the opening scene is Stolas should know too. XD he should have been well aware that he had someone trying to kill him. I'm hesitant to take Stolas' side in any regard when it comes to this episode but in fairness, Blitzo didn't know about that call & yet still didn't tell Stolas about the assassination. Plus Blitzo knew the bullet was designed to kill royalty so his excuse isn't great.

sigh, i guess i once again have to be the one to go against the crowd, but i find it both hilarious and sad that, just like with ozzies, once again everyone completely overlooks and ignores everything stolas did, and treats him like this poor, poor, poor victim and acts like everything is completely blitzo's fault. stolas is such a freaking hypocrite. stolas has never once properly communicated with blitzo. why is he surprised that blitzo doesn't treat the relationship seriously when, apart from the last two episodes, 99% of everything stolas ever says to him is a sex joke or an innuendo? heck, stolas literally called him "my impish little plaything" in one episode. so if he doesn't treat the relationship seriously, why should blitzo? if he wanted blitzo to treat the relationship seriously, he should have treated the relationship seriously himself and tell him what he actually felt. but oh no, it's totally blitzo's fault for not taking stolas's feelings seriously... not to mention that one time, when stolas got to prove his feelings towards blitzo, when asmodeus called them out in public during their visit to his club, instead of showing how he felt about blitzo, he hid his face in embarrassment. what is blitzo supposed to think, when stolas isn't even comfortable showing his face in public with him? and don't give me that bs "did you ever apologize before?" line, stolas. he was literally about to apologize last episode, just when you kicked him out of the house, because he didn't immediately say what you wanted to hear. and instead of giving him some time to sort through his emotions and have a proper conversation about your feelings, you simply kicked him out and ran away from the confrontation, and then act surprised because nothing changed. yeah, blitzo has issues. a lot of them, honestly. but it's not like the whole thing is exclusively blitzo's fault. stolas is just as much at fault as he is and they both need to get their shit together.
Something to add is that blitzø did apologize to Stolas after Ozzie’s. when I heard Stolas say that it pissed me off beyond belief. and he has the gall to say that, even though he never apologized to blitzø
Having Grappled with Self loathing, the insidious kind that even twists gratitude into "I don't deserve a friend this good." The thing that actually started to make me try against those thought patterns was the realization that the self loathing thoughts Will Eagerly throw those you care about under the bus just so you can keep making yourself miserable. The Moment My friend asked me, "Do you think I'm stupid because I care about you?" And I heard that kneejerk thought trying to shout yes, I pushed back, and I pushed back hard. But for many, they get caught up in the self loathing, they don't realize how selfish it is to spend so much time hurting yourself, not realizing how many others you'll be hurting in the process. Also her giving him the heart of the cake was basically her telling him to eat his heart out, even if she accepted his apology and is over truly hating him, she's still bitter and justifiably so.

One of my favourite aspects of this episode is that we got a good glimpse of the real Verosika, a woman who had her heart crushed in a moment of vulnerability and who has a genuine desire to help and support those who were hurt by Blitz, give them a chance to process their feelings and maybe even heal.

A good detail is that Verosika starts by calling him Blitzo, but at the end of their conversation she calls him Blitz, she understood he actually meant it when he apologized to her, that's a great detail.

As someone who heavily relates to blitz (although i’m farther along in my journey than he is), self hatred is a hell of a drug that alters the world around you in such a twisted way that once you start getting better, the world you lived in when you were broken is almost like another dimension.

Stolas had the worst luck.
He had that simple desire, and yet he had to marry STELLA of all people.
Verosika instantly turned into one of the best characters in the series this episode. Something someone else pointed out in another comment section that he didn't think of right away is the fact that she is also a succubus. Her whole life, her existence is to be a slut, and to close off her feelings for the people around her for that purpose. Yet the one time she felt something, actually loved someone and came out to them, she was immediately ditched. I can't even imagine the insecurities that most have done to her, not just the trust issues, but confirmation in her mind that she must never be anything other than a succubus. This episode didn't just give so much context into how she felt, but also how incredible of a person she is, spending all this time for the people who were hurt like she was. I think everyone expected a reveal into her past and how much she was hurt, but I don't think anyone was expecting this kind of development from her. I hope we'll get to see more from her, maybe even play an active part in mending Blitz and Stolas' relationship. I would LOVE to see a scene where Stolas and Verosika just shit-talk gossips over relationships and Blitz
And another thing… Verosika is not even the only succubus that Blitzo slept with. At the party, we see multiple succubi/incubi, (including the succubus that’s making out with a shark imp) which implies that not all succubi and incubi indulge in lust for its own evil sake; but some indulge in lust because they can’t tell if someone would love them for anything more than their bodies (or something like that)… it also shows that Blitzo is so exploitative of others, that even some lust demons are personally hurt by him 😓😓

When you hear both sides of the story it starts making sense Verosika isn't really an asshole she's just hurt. A succubus shouldn't hold attachments but she did and has probably never felt love since Blitz. Blitz maybe hurting himself from not wanting "Love" but he hasn't thought of everyone else who felt something towards him I hope what Verosika has said really woke up Blitz to change his ways and be someone better
And she loved him so much she tattooed his name on herself.
It just dawned on me a mind blowing realization. Verosika knew that Blitz was at the party the whole time. Even when she was performing on stage with Tex and Stolas. She could have outed him at any time and easily whipped her bitter, vengeful, drunken party guests into a frenzy to beat the living hell out of him (no pun intended) but was she clearly pretending to be none the wiser about him crashing the party. That proves that deep down a part of her still cares about him in spite of what he did to her. But the best evidence that she knew he was there the whole time is the fact that she was completely unfazed by him coming to talk to her while all the guests just happen to conveniently be distracted. Even her tone of voice when mentioning his “apology tour” seems to heavily imply that she was expecting him. In other words, she went to the top of the stairs to deliberately wait for him and to emotionally prepare herself, she smoked a cigarette while she waited in order to calm her nerves, likely to keep her pent-up anger at bay as a way to emotionally restrain herself from wanting to loudly chew him out which would have made a scene and thus defeated her entire purpose of letting him save face by talking to her in private. This episode was absolutely brilliant and how it subverted the expectations of such a scenario where in a story like this, the person whose secretly in a place where everyone dislikes them usually has their cover blown. Not so this time, in this show he enters and exits the party and no one, except Verosika and Stolas are ever the wiser. That was a very refreshing subversion of expectations. I wouldn’t be surprised if the reason why Viv decided to do it that way is because Blitz had already been outed in the episode that introduced Ozzie. If she had done something like that again here in this episode, it would’ve just felt like a re-hash of a scenario she had already done so I’m glad she went with a more subtle and downplayed scenario. You know what they say, sometimes in the world of drama “less is more” and I grant you that doesn’t always have to be the case but when it works, it REALLY works and this episode clearly pulled that off and then some.
She hates him because he dumped her.
Which means that he was a good boyfriend to her, and she still remembers that she loved him for a reason.
Verosika also hates Blitzo because after he dumped her, he stole her credit card and maxed it out on horse-riding lessons. And, Verosika knowing Blitzo was there the whole time without saying stuff like “excuse me everybody” isn’t the only great detail/realization of this episode… the invitation she sent to Stolas also implies that she has her own private intel network, solely to keep tabs on Blitzo plus whoever he’s currently dating, so she can send them an invitation shortly after Blitzo dumps them. If that’s also true, then Verosika’s crew can put Blitzo on blast anytime they want…
The two things i loved about Verosika party was the guy thats dancing with Stolas flew up to be at his height to spin him around, it was a small detail but wholesome.
Then their Verosika conversation with Blitz; she could have easily ripped off the sheet, scream looks who here, and thrown him into the literal lions den. Instead she had a heart to heart conversation with him about what has done to her and everyone around him.
The thing that gets me the most is how many people are GENUINELY heartbroken about blitz at the party. Yeah you see a good amount of "we had a one night stand the bitch" but you also see a whole lot of people who look at so much of a picture of blitz and start to break down. The throwing knife guy, the girl sitting on the stairs, crying and drinking. Verosika herself. Blitz could very well be the best partner you could ever ask for if he didn't hate himself and ditch everyone.
Kinda funny that a show showing the outlandish sex and violence of demons in Hell does such an amazing job addressing the complications of relationships.
Kudos for this show for teaching the harshest lesson in relationships: "when you fuck up too much, the best you can do is let them forget you"

It made me completely lose interest in the series, personally. I did not like this episode at all. I genuinely hope the people who stick with the series continue to enjoy it, but after this, I'm clearly not the target audience for this. For reasons I'm sure nobody cares about, this episode just ruined the entire series for me.

I like that Verosika basicaally handed blitz the slice a cake basically saying "Eat your heart out."
I also hope that imp/incubus dancing with Stolas isn't using him. Like he only came up to Stolas immediately after Stolas practically shouted the perfect way to play him, and he is rich and powerful. That being said, it would also be a great message about how some times nice people are just playing you while assholes can have good intentions, just not a great way about seeing it thru.
The thing someone mentioned in another comment section that I read was that Verosika was holding onto the dark heart piece because it was a metaphor for her belief, but when Blitzø showed that his heart isn't dark and unfixable, she gave it to him because she didn't want it anymore, showing that he changed her mind. Verosika is my favorite character because the venom in her voice when she talks about him feels so real. She truly loved him and he can't fathom love, so he broke her heart by getting scared and running off.

20:06 That is the moment where Blitz FINALLY gets his wake-up call. He finally understands just how many people he’s hurt, and how badly he hurt them, with Stolas being the biggest train wreck he’s ever orchestrated. He’s FINALLY feeling remorse for all of that at once and sees the mess he made.
There's so much depths in this episode, it's wild to think that it all just started with a bunch of imps getting paid to kill people in the living world. Returning characters, even side ones, everything we learn about how Blitzo, Stolas and even Verosika feel... That's such detailed writing.

Love is defined differently for everyone. The point was that Stolas didn't need much from Blitz to feel loved. He just needed to be asked to dance. or to share a milkshake. or to go for a walk in the park. or to share an umbrella in the rain. Some people are hard to love and some are easy. Stolas is so easy to love that it takes almost no effort at all and Blitz still fucked it up because he just did the bare minimum level of required interaction because he didn't see it as love at all, he didn't even see it as a relationship really, he saw it as part of his job.

If you remember the harvest festival episode that introduces us to Striker, Stolas openly is being publicly thirsty for Bltiz and Blitz is not having it

The show seems to state, they both have flaws and have done things wrong, but then only focusses on Blitz while trying to then present stolas as being perfect.
I felt the same way for a while, but then I realized that they aren't outright saying that Stolas _wasn't_ at fault, they're just choosing to focus on Blitzø's (valid) faults instead. Given that this is just one episode of an ongoing series, maybe they're planning to focus on Stolas' faults later.
Come to think of it, I think I've heard that Blitzø and Stolas are endgame, which (if true) means that Stolas' relationship with the incubus isn't going to last. Maybe it'll end up falling apart because Stolas makes the same mistakes with him that he did with Blitzø, and that'll be what causes Stolas to realize he owes Blitzø an apology of his own.
...Hell, maybe something like that already happened in the two episodes I haven't gotten around to watching yet. Or maybe something else happens instead that debunks everything I just said.
Two things shocked me in this episode.
The fact Blitz never told Stolas about Striker trying to assassinate him at the harvest moon festival. Even Moxxie yelled out Striker’s name out loud as if he knew him, while the phone Stolas called them on was on speaker. So Stolas not knowing was a big shock
And secondly. The fact Martha and the Teacher got together somehow. The fact the Teacher tried to kill her since she used her husband to cheat on both her and her own husband. She killed herself after killing people in front of children. Goes to IMP to have them kill her after she suvived and people called her a hero despite her being the shitty person. And all that just for them two to get a scizzor going. I was just, W…T…F…

I do think it's funny rewatching the beginning. Cuz towards the end, Blitz is being serious and he's actually spilling his guts, but in the beginning you have to remember that he speaks in raw emotion. At no point while he's screaming at Stolas does he mean ill, he's just trying to say everything the only way he can process it.
Exactly, and i think at this point Stolas kind of realizes that, but he's tired of it. Like he was married to an abuser for 17 years, even if he knows Blitz is being earnest, he's likely not going to settle for earnesty delivered with a side of insults and screaming.

I feel bad for Blitz, don’t get me wrong. But I also feel bad for Verosika. She’s a succubus, they’re not exactly people who fall in love and this episode was confirmation that she loved him. Makes you just wanna hug her, you know?
sadly, Blitz was only with her for the Crystal, then when she confessed her feelings, he ripped the bandaid off. since he felt she'd be better off, after all he would have looked at her just like how he thinks Stolas is so beyond him.
Martha became a red devil instead of a cannibal...so theory is Sinners take on a form that combines how they died, their personality, with their major sin or sins...like Valentino being Greed and Lust so combines elements of Mammon and Asmodeus. If true Martha was mostly wrath...also the school teacher and her getting together is hilarious, I wish we could get more follow ups on the people they went after (maybe as shorts). Also had a feeling Verosika wasn't as bad as some fan stuff makes her out to be, we only saw her briefly and her having beef with Blitz shouldn't automatically make her an antagonist.
Blitz wants to love someone, but he doesn't know how.
For example, Verosika loved him, but Blitzo broke her heart.

This is mostly a comment about Full Moon because, well, I kinda missed that upload and this one's more recent and also Some of it involves this episode.
Anyways, an important thing to note, Stolas is... pretty squarely at fault for how things went there for never actually communicating and expecting a grand gesture and a lot of subtext to work when Blitz can barely read text at all and has no reason to think Stolas thinks of him as anything more than an imp plaything. We can see Stolas's texts in some scenes and... yeah he did not do shit to actually let Blitz know that they need to actually talk, giving him so many outs and ways to avoid the interaction and then getting lost in his own head trying to focus on his fantasy of how everything could go right to avoid any of the actual fucked up feelings swirling around in his head, which, I mean, I can sympathize, but that's not really an excuse when he's going out of his way to try and change their relationship for the better and Blitz doesn't have any reason to think that there's any potential for a serious relationship to be change in the first place because Stolas is so casually dismissive of any complaints he has, regularly treats other imps as lesser, and almost always makes everything Relentlessly Sexual even when Blitz is literally getting shot.
Not to say Blitz didn't fuck up either, but also he had no way to prepare for anything that Stolas was springing on him because, well, Stolas didn't Give him any time to prepare or think, it was all an ultimatum and then dismissal before Blitz could even fully process that it was serious, and then actually pretty reasonable anger that Stolas sprung this all on him, and Blitz isn't even really Wrong about any of the stuff he says to Stolas either because... well, again, he does treat imps as lesser, Blitz only really seems to get a pass because he thought of them as childhood friends but he doesn't really give a shit when another imp gets hurt, treating his butlers like objects to be picked up and moved around and showing no concern when he squeezes them like a stress ball or they get thrown around and clearly injured.
This whole episode was Blitz needing to learn and understand that his actions have consequences for others and that as much as he hates himself others Do love him and he needs to actually put thought and care into that, to actually put that trust in others that they won't fuck him for it in a bad way. Now I'm thinking it's probably gonna be Stolas's turn to see exactly how much he's fucked up, how much he's used Blitz as an escape and how as much as he wants to think he's better, he Still has internalized bad shit from the rest of the Goetia and actually does need to work on himself so that he can treat others properly, and based on the trailer I'm guessing that's starting with Octavia given how much he's unintentionally neglected her, both in putting his attention on Blitz and trying to get through his divorce.
Also, sidenote, I'm pretty sure that he's just there as Verosika's bodyguard but the idea of Tex being one of Blitz's exes is really funny.
I’m glad that someone is finally saying that Stolas is partly at fault. everyone completely ignores the fact that Stolas has hurt, blitzø and has talked down to him on multiple different occasions.

This episode was incredible, its one of the few that really hit me hard and brought me to tears. After watching it i just sat with the video paused for a few minutes just letting the emotions swirl and simmer like I didnt want to watch something else to quickly after it ended thats how hard it hit me. Speaking of animation: a new pilot dropped earlier this week. It is called "Dungeon Flippers," and it is about realtors in a fantasy setting. Not going to say anything more, as I don't want to spoil anything.
As much as I’m proud of Stolas standing up for himself this episode, that comment from him in the beginning about “when have I ever looked down on you?” definitely shows that he’s still not able to see where he has messed up in the relationship. But this was a good first step, and I’m glad Blitz is finally gonna start taking accountability and work on himself

I think this episode dropped the amount of Respect I have for Vortex a bit. Aside from winning that contest, Blitz has not hurt him at all, he only knows Blitz as Verosika's Ex and Luna's caring Father. I can get if he was normally a Backup singer for Verosika, then it would be his Job to sing with her on stage, but he is her Bodyguard. He had no reason to get on that stage and lambast Blitz like that, he doesn't know Blitz, they have never had a conversation aside from the few sentences of Blitz being overprotective of Luna. He also knows how Damaged Blitz is and how self destructive he is, he saw him at that party. You would think that having a Girlfriend as Empathetic as Bee, would have some of her Empathy rub off on him.

Have you ever considered that Verosika (the person who he's around most of the time) might have told him about how Blitz hurt her badly at a vulnerable moment and robbed her? Plus, if he's going to these parties, he's heard probably dozens of stories of Blitz being a piece of shit. Vortex has 0 reasons to give him the benefit of the doubt here.

Like "We need Blitzo to be the bad guy even though Stolas is very clearly the worse person by his own admission so let's have the guy who's never met him join in on the literal hate party."
The episode overall is still way too biased in stark contrast to the previous episode but at least Vortex's role in it makes sense. It's mostly just Stolas who's not making sense.

I think that might happen eventually because at this point only Blitzø knows that and he won’t exactly call him out at this point honestly I think Octavia will be the one to call him out as (from what we’ve seen) she is the only Goetia who doesn’t treat imps as lesser (intentional by Stella and unintentional by Stolas)

Anyway every moment during the Party in this episode was just pure FEELS, like DAME I kept saying those 2 needed some Therapy but a HATE PARTY will do. They just needed something/someone to VENT to and then TALK. Good to see Verosica again, seeing that softer side. I think what Stolas said pretty much some it up "They care so much they throw a HATE PARTY, do you have any idea much they care to do something stupid like that?"

and don't give me that bs "did you ever apologize before?" line, stolas. he was literally about to apologize last episode, just when you kicked him out of the house, because he didn't immediately say what you wanted to hear. and instead of giving him some time to sort through his emotions and have a proper conversation about your feelings, you simply kicked him out and ran away from the confrontation, and then act surprised because nothing changed.
yeah, blitzo has issues. a lot of them, honestly. but it's not like the whole thing is exclusively blitzo's fault. stolas is just as much at fault as he is and they both need to get their shit together.

Having Grappled with Self loathing, the insidious kind that even twists gratitude into "I don't deserve a friend this good." The thing that actually started to make me try against those thought patterns was the realization that the self loathing thoughts Will Eagerly throw those you care about under the bus just so you can keep making yourself miserable.
The Moment My friend asked me, "Do you think I'm stupid because I care about you?" And I heard that kneejerk thought trying to shout yes, I pushed back, and I pushed back hard.
But for many, they get caught up in the self loathing, they don't realize how selfish it is to spend so much time hurting yourself, not realizing how many others you'll be hurting in the process.
Also her giving him the heart of the cake was basically her telling him to eat his heart out, even if she accepted his apology and is over truly hating him, she's still bitter and justifiably so.
