@@timr6318 I have seen a lot of people say that, but no one has said where Viv has suppossedly "confirmed" this. They easily could have changed how some of the lore works, and although hell only began with Lucifer's fall, "the endless dark" does not have to be "hell", so Satan could have certainly been there before Lucifer even by this world's lore.
The "mastermind" in question is Stella's brother. He knew he couldn't come straight after Stolas since he's demon royalty, so he used the accusations against Blitzø to draw out a confession from Stolas.
My favorite often missed detail, is that the sweatshirt Loona lends Stolas is the same one she was wearing on the day Blitzø adopted her, arguably symbolizing how he'll be adopted into the crew soon, 'found family' style
The way Stella was hugging Octavia to comfort her while at the same time smiling so evilly thinking Stolas was about to die, I've never wanted to sucker punch a fictional character more in my life.
The first time Vasago started speaking Spanish, he was shouting about how he would NOT shut up when Stella’s brother told him to. When Blitz was accused of plotting against Stolas he muttered “Motherfucker” in disbelief. Latino Vasago is everything I didn’t know I needed
For context: Viv made a tweet saying that Oz and Bee looked fed up towards Satan because they know Satan is making things up. Lucifer had always been the first ruler, and I think Ozzie and Bee miss him being the one in charge
Fun fact: Sam Haft commented on Andrealphus constantly mentioning Stella is hot. Basically, dude is trying to overcompensate to hide his homosexuality and is terrible at it. "I called a woman attractive! Did it work? Am I doing it right??" nah my man, you're not
I thought it was a Donald Trump reference because he is always telling people Ivanka is hot and even said that if she wasn't his daughter that he would date her.
I think he’s wrong. He’s saying that when no one else is there, and the expressions on Ozzie and Bee’s faces suggest “eeeew.” Plus, he’s a peacock, and vain as shit. Of course he thinks his sister is hot. She looks like him.
I loved the father-daughter moments between Loona and Blitz this episode. First Loona keeping the picture of her and I.M.P and then finally telling Blitz she loves him and calling him her dad. So cute! I also love how she worries about Stolas.
Yeah, to most. Stolas is only 30 something rn though, so he's gonna have to be lower for longer than he's been alive. That's definitely gonna come back and stab the other Goetia in the back later.
I think imps at least live about as long as humans, but most of the higher class demons are immortal, so a hundred years of banishment is just slightly worse than a slap on the wrist.
Only thing is, with no Goetia powers, he's no longer protected. He could be killed just as easily as any other hellborn now. Don't even need an angel weapon. Plus a large part of hell now against him... and Androphus and Stella probably trying to take him out so that he can't come back... it could be tough to survive the next 100 years.
I like to think that during the first 20 or so years of their life, they age around the same speed as humans or IMPs but when they become an adult, their growth and ageing dramatically slows, allowing them to live for centuries, if not milleniums. A hundred years for Stolas could be like 10 years at worse.
I love the "BRB 5 MIN" note with the rubber duck on Lucifer's throne. I get the feeling it's been WAY more than 5 min. Probably closer to 5 centuries :P
Now that Stolas has no power, he's a much easier target for assassination. Stella will still want him dead, and her brother will want to hang onto his new power.
@@adamm5166 She'll hurt him through Via, try to turn her against him. Next to doing anything to Blitz, that's the place where Stolas is most vulnerable right now.
@@Janoha17 Yes, because there is no way Blitz is going to let anything happen to Stolas now, not after he's seen what the bird boy was willing to give up to save his life.
THANK YOU!!! You are the ONLY other person I have seen who has mentioned the damn crystal! I was SO ready for Blitz to pop that out at any second and was kinda pissed when he never even TRIED it!
you know I realised something: while stella's too short sighted and implusive, andrealphus is too far sighted and smart for his own good. He probably could've jsut accused stolas outright, but instead he went a more convoluted route of accusing Blitzo of shit, likely assuming Stolas would rush in and take the blame instead. sure you could say "well maybe he wasn't sure the charge would even stick at all" or something, but still. I think the guy overvalues his intelligence a bit much.
i think he probably felt that to accuse a fellow goetia you need definitive proof which he may not have been able to get to stick but by accusing blitz the court wouldnt care about proof and in turn would force stolas to take the blame
When I first watched the episode, I was wondering why Asmodeus wasn't defending Blitz with the fact that he can travel through earth legally now. But I know realized that if he did, everyone would've realized that he must likely knew that Blitz was doing it illegally beforehand and didn't alert the authorities (or Satan in this case), making him an accomplice. He might would have been in deep poo-poo since he is a Sin that allowed a very illegal thing happening in the first place.
I didn't even consider it. I thought he didn't say anything because bringing up the crystal would just cause unnecessary confusion, but what you said makes much more sense.
@@alexharty995 Fizz can do nothing in this instance. He can text Oz all he wants and Oz can be (and most likely is) on the same wavelength and willingness to help, but Fizz is nothing more than a celebrity. Fizz is also at odds with Mammon so there are risks involved with Mammon using the trail to stick it to Fizz, which in turn also hurts Oz and Blitzø more than he already did.
i think the gem might still be considered illegal for an imp to use especially in his way, that and he didnt want to drag asmodeus into this too as his name was dragged through the mud a bit already
Fun fact: Along with the VAs from before voicing the sins (including bringing back Kesha for Queen Bee), they got Patrick Page (AKA: Hades in the Hadestown musical) to voice Satan himself.
... I'm a fool. I was like damn, Satan's voice sounds like Hades of Hadestown. But for some reason despite knowing of Vizi's insane networking pull didn't even consider it was literally the same voice pfft.
Vasago is voiced by Harvey Guillén, who played Guillermo de la Cruz from "What We Do in the Shadows" and Perrito in "Puss in Boots: The Last Wish". Satan is voiced by Patrick Page. He played the Grinch in the Grinch stage musical and Hades in "Hadestown."
I love how Bee and Ozzie were standing up for Blitzø, and Vasago is awesome for insisting on a fair trial. Good to know IMP has allies higher up the social ladder.
I have a feeling Vassago will be willing to hear Stolas out at a later date and accept his love for an imp. Vassago seems to be friendly towards Stolas and hates Stella and her brother. Surely, he was bothered by the fact that the trial was unfair, and down the line he may be able to protect Stolas and I.M.P from andrealphus. Also, maybe IMP can befriend sloth or envy. I think belphegor though, she seems more kind. Levi seems two-faced. One minute she is entertaining Mammon, the next she wants to scoot away from him with disgust.
I love that Lucifer's throne says "BRB in 5 min": "Be right back". They know that we fans want a crossover between Helluva and Hazbin. But I dunno if this will ever be possible. I wanna see Luci interact with the others 😅
Helluva boss could technically crossover with Hazbin, but not the other way around as only the helluva characters are exclusively owned by spindlehorse.
@C0astinG4mer I feel like the team would mind putting their own characters into hazbin hotel as long as the story makes sincefor them to be there but they would have to ask a24 or Amazon to let them use hazbin characters which could be difficult
Yeah like others have mentioned, then Hazbin Hotel, at least in its current serialised form is Amazons intellectual property now. But everything in Helluva Boss belongs in its entirety to Viv and the Spindlehorse studio. So getting a Helluva cameo in Hazbin would probably be pretty easy, but the other way around would be extremely hard.
@@mughush4997 Pretty much. Satan can be whatever he wants as long as Lucifer (and possibly Lilith) isn't around to keep him in check. Charlie could wipe his ass as well, but she is too pacifist and sweet to be a threat. I don't even think Satan is afraid of her, only what her dad would do if he did mess with Charlie. What would the other sins do? Threat him with cock-sticles and financial ruin? The guy who is built like a truck and has anger issues?
That is kinda disappointing, honestly. We know from Hazbin episode 1 that Lucifer wasn't necessarily banished to hell as soon as it came to be, so it would have been interesting to have Satan be the original ruler of hell.
@@xXSamir44XxIf I remember correctly hell was Lawless and Ruled by no one. When Lucifer fell he reconstructed hell into his own image he made Hell his Circus. I think Viv was saying him ruling is him talking out his ass but Satan himself and the other sins definitely Existed before Hell was created. Like out of all the Rings WRATH is the most lawless place. Every other ring has evolved Lust became a Industry, Greed became a Industry, Envy I think became a Utopia? Idk we don't know much about envy, Sloth also became a Utopia judging from that one episode we've seen it. Wrath is the only ring that hasn't evolved their form of sin. I think Satan doesn't even wanna be there like he's been wanting to get out since blitz came in 😂 I wonder if the dynamic between satan and luci is like a moxxie and blitz kind of relationship would be funny though
@@xXSamir44XxThey literally say that he created Hell in an accidental form in an attempt to create something good, which caused his depression. It makes no sense to change it to "Satan reigned before because sound cool"
Lucifer is a fallen arch angel and is canonically the strongest being in hell, bar none. He solo's all other currently known characters with low diff except maybe Serra, and that's still debatable Luci walked away from actively ruling hell sometime long ago and it appears Satan took over, if not completely then at least their legal system. But make no mistake he is lying about being there before Luci, he's just not there to be fact checked
I liked the description someone gave in another video, Satan is the sheriff while Lucifer is the actual king. Being away just makes it easier for Satan to rule instead
But is he lying about there being something before the fall of Lucifer? What was hell like then? Is there something outside of hell? Eldritch creatures even more powerful than Lucifer?
@Critical-Smoke When Satan mentions he ruled "before the golden angels fall" look at the expression of both Bee and Asmodeus, the look in disbelief like "are you for real? 🤨" they know he's lying but can't say it out loud
11:05 I mean to be fair, It's not totally a lie. In "The Circus" it was revealed that Blitzø was the one who first came on to Stolas when he first tried to steal the Grimoire.
It's a stretch of the definition, but you are right it not being a lie. In S2E1 it was Stolas who assumed (and hinted to want) Blitzø to "ravage him", he was the one to make it sexual and later propose the deal with the grimoire. What Blitzø did is taking advantage of it. Blitzø "forced" himself on Stolas because Stolas wanted it to happen.
Tbh they kinda give me Joffery and Cersei vibes. Stella's a self entitled brat (admittedly smarter then Joffery though), and Andrealphus is a manipulator pretty boy
41:07 Thanks to the trailer for these episodes we know he'll see Octavia in the next episode. She will say something in line of "You don't care about mother and you dont' care about me, you only care about him". I think she'll take this like he abandoned her for Blitz.
I mean she isn’t wrong?? And he’d kinda deserve it. Stolas has chosen other things above his daughter at least twice (s1e2 and s2e2) and now she saw him willingly try throwing away his life to save the guy he’s been sleeping with for the last year, seemingly not giving her a thought of how his actions will affect her, leaving her behind without someone who genuinely loves her (MAYBE she has Stella but we don’t really know much of their actual relationship and frankly…doubt it). Personally, I’m all for Octavia going off on Stolas because while he does love and care about her, he’s been irresponsible and a shitty dad to her, he has it coming
I think it’s interesting that out of all the Sins we’ve met so far, Mammon is the only one who has totally given in to their respective sin (in this case, Greed). Oz (Lust) is all about consent, and he’s in a romantic relationship. Bee (Gluttony) is fine with getting wasted, but didn’t like the reasons or way that Blitzø was doing it. Satan (Wrath) has a little guy who keeps him calm. Lucifer (Pride) is, admittedly, full of himself, but he still cares about Charlie and her hotel idea. Don’t know enough about Leviathan (Envy) or Belphegor (Sloth), but the latter seems rather sleepy.
Before Christian lore drifted into considering him a demon, the name Satan actually referred to an angel who served as a sort of divine prosecutor in the Torah - he was called "Ha-Satan," literally "the accuser" or "the adversary" - so making him a judge in the Hellaverse was a clever creative decision!
Before going into the lore behind the Vassago from demonological lore, a fun fact about his design: His design first appeared way back in the Hazbin Hotel pilot among the Overlords when Vaggie was saying the line "Many have speculated what unimaginable forces enabled him to rival our world's most ancient and destructive evils". Speaking of design: The most common depiction of him I've seen is a humanoid riding a crocodile. But since he isn't depicted in the Ars Goetia and the Goetia demons are mostly birds, I think his design in the show makes sense. Speaking of "Ars Goetia": He is listed in both the Liber Officiorum Spirituum and, of course, the Ars Goetia itself: In the Liber, he is named "Usagoo". Here, he appears as an angel who can make women fall in love with you and reveal hidden treasure. He commands only 20 legions in this version. In the Ars Goetia, meanwhile, he is the third spirit and the first of the seven Princes of Hell (Stolas is listed as the 5th btw) said to be of a good nature and the same nature as Agares, the second spirit who is depicted as an old man riding a crocodile. Vassago is said to rule 26 legions of demons and is able to find lost objects as well as tell wizards the past and future. He is said to be the opposing force to the angel Sitael.
@@zeleeba8774 Little correction: The Lesser Key of Solomon is from the 17th century and thus the Age of Enlightenment, not the Middle Ages. Your point however, is correct: Any spirit/demon not mentioned in the torah, bible or quran is not part of the official canon of any of the three abrahamic religions. And I never claimed otherwise. However, the Lesser Keys, like Binsfield's classification, the Liber etc., are based on abrahamic, more specifically christian and often written by christians (I mean, Peter Binsfield himself was the bishop of Trier and the Grimoire of Pope Honorius was allegedly written by Pope Honorius III.), lore and thus, in a way, non-canonical extension of it. But honestly: I have better things to do with my life than to argue about this. So I'll just throw you a bone and change it.
The first time loona called him dad was ep 3 s1 but now she actually means it which is one of the things that makes this episode more emotional but yet amazing
And so, after being name-dropped since the Pilot, Satan, sometimes called "The Satan", finally makes his on-screen debut. And it did not disappoint in the slightest. Now, there's obviously a LOT one can say about him but I wanna keep this relatively short so I'll focus on the important stuff as well as a few things people may not know about him: 1. Since he's the most common name for the devil, there are countless different depictions and descriptions of him. And while not all depictions are big and red, most I've seen do include claws and horns, like in this show. He is also described as a great red dragon in the Book of Revelation. So alongside Asmodeus, his design in the show is the closest to real life depictions out of all the Sins. 2. His name comes from the Hebrew language and literally means "accuser" or "adversary" (which makes his role as judge in this episode a nice reference). It is also often, though not always, used interchangeably with "Lucifer", "Beelzebub" and "Bael", among many other names. 3. In Judaism, he is originally a servant of god. Though I've heard that in modern times, his relationship to God can differ depending on who you ask. Only in Christianity and Islam, he is considered God's enemy. However, Muslims don't necessarily see him as the cause of all evil like the Christians do (of course, some do, but to my understanding, it's not the widely accepted version). Rather, he is seen as someone who uses what is already there. 4. His arabic name is "Shaitan" where it can mean "astray" or "distant". However, in the Quran, he is called "Iblis". Though the figure is more of a Satan/Lucifer mix. And finally: 5. In the Middle Ages, Satan was treated more as a joke, a minor nuisance who was constantly outsmarted by Saints and sometimes even just ordinary people. It wasn't until the early modern period where Satan became more powerful and thus more feared by people.
Sooooo Andrelphus is DEFINITELY gonna try to have Stolas and Octavia killed so he can make his new position permanent, right? Like that's definitely coming at some point.
My guess is Andrelphus planned this whole thing Pinning the assassination attempt(s) and assault on Blitzø knowing Stolas will come to his rescue taking the blame so regardless if the consequence he will take on his title
i dont get why he was banking on the fact that stolas would come to rescue blitz though... because even stella was just like "he realized the imp was using him for the grimoire" in the beginning of the episode... so where would andrealphus have gotten any indication that stolas cares for blitz??
@@raptorxrise5386 But there's a flaw with Andrealphus's scheme that neither he nor Stella did not count on and the Asmodean Crystal that Blitz is now using is that flaw.
If you think about it, Stolas being involved makes the crime a lot lesser, so it makes sense he gets a lesser sentence. (Even if the sins/nobles are definitely classist) Blitz was going to be executed for: - Stealing a goetic artifact - Assaulting a noble - Illegally accessing the mortal realm Stolas being behind it negates everything except "Illegally accessing the mortal realm," since he can't steal his own artifact and can't assault himself.
"Is it the first time we heard Luna call him dad?" no, it isn't "Shut up da- UGH, Blitz" -Luna in Spring Broken "Yeah, that's my dad!" -Luna in Queen Bee (at the party) "I'll be there, dad" -Luna also in Queen Bee (scene after returning home)
The part where Blitz told the I.M.P. crew he loves them reminded me of the Centaurworld penultimate where Horse said to the herd “Thank you for being my family." 😢
This is actually the second episode where Loona openly called Blitz "Dad." The first was "Queen Bee," where she shouts "That's my dad" during the drinking contest, and "Go to sleep... Dad." near the end of the episode. I feel I also have to mention the almost moment in "Spring Broken." Loona complains about her makeup, Bltiz says she perfect as always, and she snaps, "Shut up, Da... Bltiz!"
I think this is the 3rd time Loona has called Blitzø 'dad'. Twice during the party episode in delayed season 1 episode and here. Maybe one more but it's happened before
15:18 - ish Bombproof is Striker's horse, the fiery one he showed up on. I like how Satan's design has him having this dumbbell - button thing on the vest (having in mind he has a fitness app too) The "Police" I believe are reapers (and baphomets, from Sloth, for some reason) 31:49 - nope, she literally yelled "That's my dad!" in the Queen Bee episode. And I'm pretty sure she's said it a few times after that too.
I love your reaction sooo much, I was feeling the SAME way!!! I feel bad for Stolas but this is such a good development for their relationship and Stolas himself; he's going to learn a lot from living with Blitz (and let's hope working for I.M.P!). We're all afraid for Octavia and I'm sure things will get ugly with Andrealphus and Stella manipulating her, but I know that eventually she'll be reunited with her dad.
Well, Vassago and Stolas are both already Princes, so Marquis Andrealphus was probably hoping for the promotion since Prince is a significantly higher rank. Which is why it surprises me so to hear a lowly Marquis talking so flippantly to a Prince.
Keeping in mind- the song is them singing at one another, but its their inner thoughts, so they haven't said any of that outloud but in their own minds. so we know they are on the same page, but they don't.
@@hgdellinger I don't think Satan was calling the song adorable. I think he was calling *Stolas* adorable for trying to Mastermind some huge plot underneath the Sins' noses to increase his own power....or something. He was a bit vague on the details. XD Satan thought it was adorable that Stolas thought he could get away with "betraying" the Goetia and Sins.
THIS. Seen so many people being like THEY FINALLY SAID THE QUIET PART OUT LOUD-- no they didn't. They were inner monologuing. But what this DID show is three things: 1. Blitz completely saw through Stolas' classist Princey act and demonstrated that even though he still doesn't understand *why*, he now at least BELIEVES Stolas is in love with him. 2. They are completely on the same page about their feelings now. Their first duet was completely out of sync and this one was perfectly in tune. 3. Blitz realized exactly what Stolas was doing.... and *why*. He knows from Apology Tour (at least) that the purest form of Stolas' love language is Big Damn Romance moments.... and it doesn't get any bigger than literally being willing to DIE (and reminder; he genuinely thought they were going to kill him) for the person you love. So this was UNMISTAKEABLY a gesture of love from Stolas.... and we saw Blitz *see* that and *recognize* it.
My fav thing is how bee and oz and know that Satan is lying to seem more powerful. They look at each other and roll their eyes when he says he was here before Lucifer, because he wasn’t. Vivzie even said this herself. That it’s all bullshit LMFAO
This is one of those that has so much in the background to rewatch, like seeing Lucifer's throne in the background with the web and duck in multiple shots before its focused on. Just out in plain sight but the foreground characters draw attention from it.
31:47 Nope. She almost called him "Dad" in frustration in S1E3, then had two moments in S1E8 where she said "That's my dad!", and called him "dad" at the end. Other than that she indirectly talks about him as her dad in her speech to Via in S2E2. So this would be more or less the fifth time.
What’s with the sins and these awesome numbers? Despite getting so little time, Satan has blown me away with his voice. (God saying I’m impressed by the literal devils singing is giving me whiplash)
Octavia and Loona are friends, I’m sure that Loonie will find some way to get Via and Stolas together occasionally… “MOM!! I’m going to party with Loonie, don’t fucking try to stop me! I’ll be back when I’m back!”
okay from a pure lore perspective answer, It's always been a bit vague when Helluva boss takes place versus Hazbin. Idk what Vizi has said, but I've always assumed Helluva is set before Hazbin (like sometime in the seven years after Lilith left). Because I would have to assume Hazbin is going to end with major changes to the status quo of hell. So Lucifer might just be depressed, holed up in his palace. It would be in line with Satan knowing he could get away with saying shit, because even the sins probably haven't seen Lucifer in a while during that period. Whereas I'm not sure Satan would say the stuff he did if he had seen the events of Hazbin finale with Lucifer interfering and taking more of a stance on Hell policy.
@@ytchloeomgyasss7311 I feel kinda bad for Loona in a few episodes with this new arrangement… that is a VERY small apartment with probably little to no soundproofing. And I have a feeling that Blitz and Stolas are NOT quiet! Hopefully she’s got a good pair of headphones…
We always knew classism was a problem in hell and they've referenced it constantly but this is the first time we've really seen that discrimination play out. The way they were entirely powerless to a system that planned to execute them as a prelude to lunch. The cold way they were dismissed.
I watched this without realising it was 40 mins long and i was complaining how i wish the reaction would last longer until i saw how long the video already was 😂
My understanding of Satan’s claim of ruling Hell, is that (at least according to him) before Lucifer fell, he was the the top dog in Hell and it seems that while Lucifer is absent, he’s the one running the show.
Here's a bit of background on the two Sins with no lines: In demonology, Levy, aka Leviathan, is mostly described as a giant sea serpent or another sea monster such as a whale or a giant crocodile. He/She/It (I've literally seen all pronouns being used for Leviathan about the same amount) is sometimes paired up with Behemoth, a giant land monster, and Ziz, a giant air monster. In those depictions, like in this show, Leviathan is usually female (or at least she appears female; we'll have to wait and see for the exact pronouns). Originally considered the embodiment of chaos, she has been the go-to Sin of Envy since the 13th Century (at least for Christians). In the Dictionnaire Infernal, she is also a member of the Order of the Fly, a group of high ranking demons hand-picked by Beelzebub to help him run Hell. Here, she is a he and the Minister of the Office with the positions of Grand Admiral of Hell and Knight of the Fly. Lastly, she is often compared with giant serpents and monsters from other mythologies like Jörmungandr from Norse Mythology, Tiamat from Mesopotamien Mythology or Vrtra from Hinduism. Like with Bee-lzebub, Belphegor, the Sin sleeping next to Bee, is most often portrayed as a male. Belphegor is also known as "Baal-Peor" which comes from the Hebrew "Ba'al-Pe'gor" and means "Lord of the Gap" (which, as a side note, is quite the nice parallel to Beelzebub whose title is „Lord of [the] Fly“). He is usually portrayed as an old man with horns, a beard, long nails and a devil's tail. But honestly, I do like the show's design, too. Originally seducing people by helping them make discoveries and inventions that would make them rich, he is considered the Deadly Sin of Sloth nowadays due to the Binsfeld's Classification of Demons by real life witch hunter Peter Binsfeld (though it goes without saying that the "witches" he hunted weren't actually magical). Also, according to the Dictionnaire Infernal, he is also a member of the Order of the Fly, serving as the ambassador to France. Lastly, he has a book about him by Machiavelli (the guy who wrote the political satire "The Prince") which was adopted into an opera in 1923. Also, in-universe fun fact, as seen in S1E5 of Hazbin Hotel, Belphegor is listed in Charlie’s contact list. So despite the Sins seeming to not have a high opinion of their king (granted, he is an absent king, so it's not exactly a surprise), at least a few seem to be on speaking terms with his hellborn daughter.
I really love Leviathan's design. Envy is honestly a very two-faced feeling; there's the face you show to everyone else (presentable and happy) and the face just under that where the true feelings lie ("ugly" and spiteful). That's my interpretation of it, at least, and all of the Sins have amazingly smart designs.
I find Satan's reaction pretty interesting. I mean, he picks up the song by saying "How adorable." That's not really a reaction you'd give to someone confessing he tried to screw you over, and making you look stupid in front of your people. Especially if you're the embodiment of wrath. I have an impression Satan is much smarter than he looks, and picked up on the whole situation (including Andrealphus trying to claim Stolas' power, hence the whole "for 100 years" verdict). It was just compelling for him to be able to punish a high ranking demon like Stolas, and solidify his image of regent (?) of hell. Which he needs desperately , assuming from the meaningful looks of Bel and As exchanging when Lucifer's absence was mentioned. Also, it may be seeing too much into it, but Satan singing "I am the mastermind" also feels weird. Perhaps it's just him brushing his ego, sure, but it can also mean "I saw what you did there bro, you don't fool me".
So apparently the “I ruled the endless dark” line is Satan lying since Lucifer isn’t there to say otherwise. Which now leads me to think Sins are creations/“children” or Lucifer and Satan took over when dad got too depressed and went to make rubber ducks.
Luci isn’t here cus of copyright but if he was here u know damn well he was gonna bring Charlie and Charlie has a fucking right to stand up for blitz she would try and save him
The reason lucifer wasnt there is probably this ep takes place Durning ep 8 where lucifer fought adam but more realistically he is not involving into hell's things since he is an fallen angel and he hates hell beacuse Yea, he probably spended time with hotel and charlie(or making rubber ducks) but actual reason is that viv had shaking with amazon prime to own the hazbin hotel so they dont have allowance to use characters from hazbin to other shows. It is stupid to not include lucifer himself in helluva boss, as mentioned, he is the sin of pride after all and viv's goal is to put every sin in one place INCLUDING lucifer. Lets prays amazon lets viv use lucifer for helluva boss to
I have faith in Octavia. She loves Stolas and is friendly toward Loona. Stella won't care enough to watch Oct close and I can see her spending time at Imp to be with her dad.
Oh shit, seeing Stolas was already trashed on all the time by Stella, it'd really hurt for Stolas to receive the same treatment, especially for saving Blitz, even if the population doesn't know. Ouch. Anyway, great reaction! I loved how you picked on lots of details, and I'm glad I wasn't the only one being like "why aren't they portaling out" at the start x)
I’m very confused when it comes to Lucifer and Satan in the Hellaverse. In Hazbin, they wrote it that Lucifer’s fall created Hell, but here Satan is saying he’s been around longer than Lucifer, and even _made_ imps. Not to mention how much more imposing he is, and how his chair is apart from the others. So… who’s really ruling Hell? Before they’ve talked like Lucifer was the most powerful, but now I’m not so sure. If anyone has insight on this, I’d appreciate it 🩵
@@icemagiciangh From what I have seen they confirmed that Satan was just making crap up to sound badass. That’s why Bee and Ozzie rolled their eyes when he said it. I think Satan has kinda taken over as defacto ruler while Lucifer is off with his ducks.
Lucifer is the king of all of hell, Satan is just the king of the wrath ring and it sounds like second in command or self proclaimed second in command, so when Lucifer didn’t care to show up the judgement fell to Satan.
Much as I loved the lore drop, I struggled to make it through the trial scene once it was clear what Stolas planned to do because no one questions that Stolas paid someone to pay someone to kill himself to frame that someone only to come save that someone.
@@_ShiAngel Blitz is accused of paying striker to assassinate stolas. Stolas claims he hired blitz to do this and that he had framed Blitz only to now confess instead.
fun fact the person who plays Satan is Patrick Page. You may know him from the Hunchback of Notre Dame musical (as Dom Claude Frollo), or the In the Heights movie (as Pike Phillips), Spirited (Marley), or from (my personal favorite) Hadestown as Hades :)
One upside of this is it makes room for my greatest hope for this show, a reprise of You'll Be Okay sung by Octavia to Stolas with a potential duet between the two

The "mastermind" in question is Stella's brother. He knew he couldn't come straight after Stolas since he's demon royalty, so he used the accusations against Blitzø to draw out a confession from Stolas.

The first time Vasago started speaking Spanish, he was shouting about how he would NOT shut up when Stella’s brother told him to. When Blitz was accused of plotting against Stolas he muttered “Motherfucker” in disbelief. Latino Vasago is everything I didn’t know I needed
I know this probably means nothing to you, but thanks for using Latino and not Latinx

Am I doing it right??" nah my man, you're not
It comes off more as Andre is really into Stella, like in an Alabama kinda way.

Yeah, but also Stolas, seeing that reminded him more of his own daughter, the person he now has to leave behind. Love the detail
13:12 The videos do have subtitles that translate things like spanish, and yes, he was mostly cursing.
"Seems like smarter than Stella" - that's a low bar, I'm sure a 5-year-old could reach it :D
To demons, a 100 years is nothing, it’s probably why Andrealphus was annoyed by the punishment not being more severe.
There's still one more episode of the season. He might try to find a way to keep that power permanently.
To be honest, 5 centuries of immortal beings is pretty much 5 minutes for us mortals.

Stella's brother is named Andrealphus. Also, the other Sins are Leviathan (envy), the two headed one, and Belphegor (sloth) the sleepy goat.

Yogirt the wise, yogirt the all-knowing!
Yogirt! I hate Yogirt! Even with strawberries!
you know I realised something: while stella's too short sighted and implusive, andrealphus is too far sighted and smart for his own good.
Even putting that aside "I was breaking the law, but I'm not anymore." isn't a great defense in court.
I didn't even consider it. I thought he didn't say anything because bringing up the crystal would just cause unnecessary confusion, but what you said makes much more sense.
Also his relationship with Fizz wouldn’t have helped either
@@alexharty995 Fizz can do nothing in this instance. He can text Oz all he wants and Oz can be (and most likely is) on the same wavelength and willingness to help, but Fizz is nothing more than a celebrity. i think the gem might still be considered illegal for an imp to use especially in his way, that and he didnt want to drag asmodeus into this too as his name was dragged through the mud a bit already

YOU ARE EVERYWHERE.
I mean I think Amazon owns the copyright to Hazbin Hotel now so it all depends on what Jeff Bezos allows them to do 🤷
Yeah like others have mentioned, then Hazbin Hotel, at least in its current serialised form is Amazons intellectual property now. But everything in Helluva Boss belongs in its entirety to Viv and the Spindlehorse studio. So getting a Helluva cameo in Hazbin would probably be pretty easy, but the other way around would be extremely hard.
Viv has already said that the two shows will NEVER crossover with each other. So sadly we'll never get that.
In a tweet, Viz confirm that Satan was just talking out his ass about ruling
Maybe but he is the 3 strongest being in hell just behind Lucifer and Charlie so the other sins don't want to upset him so they shut up
@@mughush4997 Pretty much. Satan can be whatever he wants as long as Lucifer (and possibly Lilith) isn't around to keep him in check.

Been finding you in the comments to near every reaction video I watch for like 1 or 2 years
It's a stretch of the definition, but you are right it not being a lie.

I like the detail that Stolas insinuates that executing Blitz would make him a martyr to imp. Pretty backed up by how popular he is at the end.
Helluva boss isn’t allowed to use the Hazbin Hotel characters at this moment due to the network they work with but Vivzie is trying to change that!
Before going into the lore behind the Vassago from demonological lore, a fun fact about his design:
His design first appeared way back in the Hazbin Hotel pilot among the Overlords when Vaggie was saying the line "Many have speculated what unimaginable forces enabled him to rival our world's most ancient and destructive evils".
Speaking of design: The most common depiction of him I've seen is a humanoid riding a crocodile. But since he isn't depicted in the Ars Goetia and the Goetia demons are mostly birds, I think his design in the show makes sense.
Speaking of "Ars Goetia": He is listed in both the Liber Officiorum Spirituum and, of course, the Ars Goetia itself:
In the Liber, he is named "Usagoo".
Vassago isn't in abrahamic lore. The occult book from the Middle Ages (The Lesser Key of Solomon) is not a canon for any religion.
@@zeleeba8774
Little correction: The Lesser Key of Solomon is from the 17th century and thus the Age of Enlightenment, not the Middle Ages.
@@zeleeba8774 well a fiction book has its fan made books that add lore that some fans find canon and others dont easy
The first time loona called him dad was ep 3 s1 but now she actually means it which is one of the things that makes this episode more emotional but yet amazing
0:40 I think you can tell the differences in personality already, just with these two pictures
And so, after being name-dropped since the Pilot, Satan, sometimes called "The Satan", finally makes his on-screen debut. And it did not disappoint in the slightest.
Now, there's obviously a LOT one can say about him but I wanna keep this relatively short so I'll focus on the important stuff as well as a few things people may not know about him:
And finally:
5. In the Middle Ages, Satan was treated more as a joke, a minor nuisance who was constantly outsmarted by Saints and sometimes even just ordinary people. It wasn't until the early modern period where Satan became more powerful and thus more feared by people.
I love the detail that Loona's picture isn't a mugshot because she's never been arrested, but instead it's a picture of her from Bee's party.
Sooooo Andrelphus is DEFINITELY gonna try to have Stolas and Octavia killed so he can make his new position permanent, right? Like that's definitely coming at some point.
Andre didn’t get the power of Stolas since it’s only temporary, is my understanding. He expected it to be permanent.
@ yeah that's my point. how do you make it permanent? kill stolas and the heir
Octavia may think he's dead, as all she saw was him getting ready to be executed. I bet Stella and Andreolphus will play into it too.
30:16 The baritone from the man singing for Satan is *Chefs kiss*
My guess is Andrelphus planned this whole thing
Pinning the assassination attempt(s) and assault on Blitzø knowing Stolas will come to his rescue taking the blame so regardless if the consequence he will take on his title
Makes sense. Considering how he smiles during stolas' song it does seem like he was expecting it
i dont get why he was banking on the fact that stolas would come to rescue blitz though... because even stella was just like "he realized the imp was using him for the grimoire" in the beginning of the episode... so where would andrealphus have gotten any indication that stolas cares for blitz??
@@raptorxrise5386 But there's a flaw with Andrealphus's scheme that neither he nor Stella did not count on and the Asmodean Crystal that Blitz is now using is that flaw.
This is a “Everyone is here” kinda episode and i LOVE those kind of episodes.
If you think about it, Stolas being involved makes the crime a lot lesser, so it makes sense he gets a lesser sentence. (Even if the sins/nobles are definitely classist)
Blitz was going to be executed for:
- Stealing a goetic artifact
- Assaulting a noble
- Illegally accessing the mortal realm
Stolas being behind it negates everything except "Illegally accessing the mortal realm," since he can't steal his own artifact and can't assault himself.
"Is it the first time we heard Luna call him dad?" no, it isn't
"Shut up da- UGH, Blitz" -Luna in Spring Broken
"Yeah, that's my dad!" -Luna in Queen Bee (at the party)
"I'll be there, dad" -Luna also in Queen Bee (scene after returning home)
amazing bit of potential foreshadowing: when blitz was hored to play with stolas, he said "and one day, I'll hire you".
Bltiz!"
Satan has a therapist to help him control his wrath....
I think this is the 3rd time Loona has called Blitzø 'dad'. Twice during the party episode in delayed season 1 episode and here. Maybe one more but it's happened before
Springbreak too
15:18 - ish Bombproof is Striker's horse, the fiery one he showed up on.
I like how Satan's design has him having this dumbbell - button thing on the vest (having in mind he has a fitness app too)
The "Police" I believe are reapers (and baphomets, from Sloth, for some reason)
31:49 - nope, she literally yelled "That's my dad!" in the Queen Bee episode.
I really hope that Vessago gets Stolas's titles instead of Andrealphus.
Well, Vassago and Stolas are both already Princes, so Marquis Andrealphus was probably hoping for the promotion since Prince is a significantly higher rank.
Which is why it surprises me so to hear a lowly Marquis talking so flippantly to a Prince.
"Why do we build the wall? My children. My children" is all I can possibly hear whenever Satan speaks 😂
It is the same person so understandable
Keeping in mind- the song is them singing at one another, but its their inner thoughts, so they haven't said any of that outloud but in their own minds. so we know they are on the same page, but they don't.
Are we sure? Because why would Satan say the song was "adorable" otherwise?
@@hgdellinger I don't think Satan was calling the song adorable. I think he was calling *Stolas* adorable for trying to Mastermind some huge plot underneath the Sins' noses to increase his own power....or something. He was a bit vague on the details. XD Satan thought it was adorable that Stolas thought he could get away with "betraying" the Goetia and Sins.
THIS. Seen so many people being like THEY FINALLY SAID THE QUIET PART OUT LOUD-- no they didn't. They were inner monologuing. But what this DID show is three things:
Lucifer is like the king of hell while Satan is like its sheriff.
Abaddon may or may not be in the show, but Abaddon is one of the Sins in the other main classification, so that character might be appear.

“MOM!! I’m going to party with Loonie, don’t fucking try to stop me! I’ll be back when I’m back!”
DON'T FORGET! Mmmon is voiced by Michael Cusack. Co-creator of Smiling Friends and tje voice of Pim.
I was upset Lucifer wasn't there but that likely means he's helping with the hotel.
Lore reason: He doesn't care about the court meeting and is helping with the hotel.
Accurate reason: Amazon Copyright
He’s Amazon property now so they can’t use it in Helluva Boss universe, so it makes sense to not show him and making excuses for his absence
okay from a pure lore perspective answer, It's always been a bit vague when Helluva boss takes place versus Hazbin.
Omg I love that stolas and blitz are living together
Via is now loona little sis
@mrnohax5436 wait didn't Stella keep Octavia tho and probably will not let her see him
@@ytchloeomgyasss7311in season 3 trust me bro
@@ytchloeomgyasss7311 I feel kinda bad for Loona in a few episodes with this new arrangement… that is a VERY small apartment with probably little to no soundproofing. And I have a feeling that Blitz and Stolas are NOT quiet! Hopefully she’s got a good pair of headphones…
I have actually been constantly checking the channel for this reaction
same
We always knew classism was a problem in hell and they've referenced it constantly but this is the first time we've really seen that discrimination play out. The way they were entirely powerless to a system that planned to execute them as a prelude to lunch. The cold way they were dismissed.
I watched this without realising it was 40 mins long and i was complaining how i wish the reaction would last longer until i saw how long the video already was 😂
We finally learn how attractive satan is after bee hyped him up. And he did not disappoint. He is a new daddy
This is certainly a comment
@ truer words have never been spoken lol.
You should see AliciaxLife's reaction to Satan. She was simping hard
This is the best outcome ever blitz is getting everything he wanted and stolas is losing everything and I love it
My understanding of Satan’s claim of ruling Hell, is that (at least according to him) before Lucifer fell, he was the the top dog in Hell and it seems that while Lucifer is absent, he’s the one running the show.
That's a mood, Gabriella
Here's a bit of background on the two Sins with no lines:
In demonology, Levy, aka Leviathan, is mostly described as a giant sea serpent or another sea monster such as a whale or a giant crocodile.
She also makes “happy pills.”
Fun fact: the song in this episode is Vivziepops personal favorite in the entire series along with this being their favorite episode.
40:46 my EXACT reaction
29:29 Viz wants all seven of them in one room together!
It’s gonna happen people! We just have to be patient!
Lets prays amazon lets viv use lucifer for helluva boss to
Fyi spend past tense is spent not spended
7:52 The hooded figures with the police are called Wraiths!
This Episode is in my opinion the best of season 2 yet
I love the design of satan so cool. Man seems to be in full control of his size which made the head showing up through fire by far my favorite part.
I don't have anyone to watch helluva boss with so this video was so fun and I enjoyed it alot feeling like I'm watching with a friend thank you!!
Blitzø, what did you do to the orphans??😂
Lucifer is the king of all of hell, Satan is just the king of the wrath ring and it sounds like second in command or self proclaimed second in command, so when Lucifer didn’t care to show up the judgement fell to Satan.
Much as I loved the lore drop, I struggled to make it through the trial scene once it was clear what Stolas planned to do because no one questions that Stolas paid someone to pay someone to kill himself to frame that someone only to come save that someone.
What
@@_ShiAngel Blitz is accused of paying striker to assassinate stolas. Stolas claims he hired blitz to do this and that he had framed Blitz only to now confess instead.
@@kylemaclachlan7279 when did he say that
When did who say what?
33:04 Stealing the book is a much worse crime than Stolas letting someone use his.
I love how hazbin focuses on the politics of heaven 😇
While helluva focuses on the politics of hell 👿
fun fact the person who plays Satan is Patrick Page. You may know him from the Hunchback of Notre Dame musical (as Dom Claude Frollo), or the In the Heights movie (as Pike Phillips), Spirited (Marley), or from (my personal favorite) Hadestown as Hades :)
One upside of this is it makes room for my greatest hope for this show, a reprise of You'll Be Okay sung by Octavia to Stolas with a potential duet between the two
I am not seeing nearly enough appreciation for Patrick Paige as Satan
Luna did call Blitz dad previously, in the Queen Bee episode she yells "yeah that's my dad!" and at the end she says "I'll be there, dad" ~
