Vasilis I love your videos but, any song that has the Zurna, you already know is Macedonian. Why put it in the Bulgarian video? Not to mention some of the other songs that are Macedonian and were included here.
Traditional folk songs from Vardar Macedonia, are considered part of the Bulgarian Folk Tradition. Zurna is also used in many other countries... it is not "Macedonian" or Bulgarian but Persian. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zurna

All the song are Bulgarian. Just you, North Macedonians steal songs from Southwestern Bulgaria (Prirn Macedonia) and North Greece (Aegen Macedonia) and present them as yours. 😅

A typical Bulgarian Mess and people praise it like if it was god’s gift to humanity. But not to us who know better. This fiasco started during the communist era when the Bulgarians started to copy the big soviet folk ensembles which were praised around the world and the Bulgarians went nuts over them. They opened Academies for everything. Supercharged Singing, dancing, groups like if they were on steroids. They came up with 20 Gadulka Orchestras and 50 Gaidas. All to impress and promote their superiority over the other Balkan countries and to tell the world of all the good things that “communism had to offer”. Of course one would say what they do is their business and I would have no problem with that except when they steal Macedonian songs and dances and promote them as their own. Even their most popular Gaida player Kostadin Varimezov told us that they constantly listen to to Radio Skopje and watch Macedonian TV, (nothing the other way) and we know why. Look at their videos. Even in this video about one quarter of it is Macedonian content. The program opened with a Macedonian song from my area in Western Macedonia which is the farthest from Bulgar, and the second song was not even a traditional song from the public domain but it was composed in the 80s by the Macedonian singer Jonche Hristovski. There were also other songs and dances in this video including the Rusali Dances from Central Macedonia from the Republic and from the Greek Part of central Macedonia across the border and yet the map in the video shows only Bulgaria. There is nothing wrong with folklore groups doing songs and dances from other countries, many of them do. Like this Polish group singing a Macedonian song (and so well) “Ne se beli Mare mori By Słowianki th-cam.com/video/T64n5zMWT2M/w-d-xo.html” but they don’t promote it as a Polish song unlike the way the Bulgarians do. They are such big copycats. I am sure they have plenty of their own folklore but they are trying so hard to win the hearts of the Macedonians and hoping that “one day the Macedonians will realize that they are Bulgarians and will want to join Mother Bulgaria”. Yeah right! It’s about territorial claims. They even offer free Bulgarian passports to Macedonians so they can say; “see? The Macedonians are Bulgarians”. Of course many took the Bulgarian passports but not because they were Bulgarians but because they wanted an easy way to the European Union for a better life, to avoid the poverty they were facing in Macedonia and of course they did not stay in Bulgaria. Otherwise I don’t see why any Macedonian would want to declare being a Bulgarian. What does Bulgaria have to offer to Macedonians other than Bulgarian passports. Too late my Bulgarian friends. The Cat is out of the bag. As Elizabeth Barker wrote in her Thesis in 1959; “Bulgaria lost complete sympathy in Macedonia when they went with the Nazis and Occupied Macedonia and killed thousands of Macedonians who resisted their Occupation”. They also sent the Macedonian Jews to Auschwitz. These are facts that the Bulgarians try to deny. But the Bulgarians never give up on trying to tell the world that Macedonia is Bulgaria. Just like the Greeks who had even put on their toilet paper “Macedonia is Greece”.
Dude calm down, your fierce hatred isn't good for your health. The communist regimes everywhere had a policy of "showing off" in front of the West. And culture and folklore was just one of the sectors that was heavily invested in. Another sector were the sports where to this day people from USSR and Bulgaria are in the top ten of the rankings of many Olympic disciplines. I just don't understand why does that frustrate you. I mean it's not like Yugoslavia didn't do the same thing and it's not like folk groups specifically from Macedonia didn't regularly visit countries from the west. Are you afraid of Bulgaria coming out as superior and you just can't allow it? And because of the fact that some Bulgarian musician listens to Macedonian folk music you prove in some way that you are superior? There are many folklor regions in Bulgaria and the Macedonian folklor region is just one of them. We listen and perform folk music from all regions of Bulgaria. And you cannot blame us that we consider Macedonian folklore as part of our folklore if you take into account the many revivalists through the 19th and 20th century who published books with songs, traditions and all kind of stuff from Macedonia and who thought of them as being Bulgarian. One prime example is the collection of songs of the brothers Miladinov and I'm sure you know well how they named this collection. In Macedonia this name was of course changed. So while you are upset that a Macedonian song from the 80s is presented as Bulgarian (and you have every right), you cannot deny the fact that in Macedonia many things are also either hidden or falsificated with the intention to erase any connection to Bulgaria. The people in Macedonia didn't listen to folk music from Bulgaria not because they were not interested but because in Yugoslavia was forbidden everything Bulgarian - books, newspapers and it would only make sense that listening to Bulgarian radio was also prohibited. After Macedonian independence the Yugoslav propaganda successfully created an anti-Bulgarian sentiment in Macedonia. I mean even today people oppose the idea of Bulgarian programs being put on Macedonian TV although there are already many Serbian programs. Many Bulgarian texts from monuments, churches, even graves were also erased. You see the pattern here. So that leads me to the thousand dead Macedonians who rose against the bad Bulgarians and were brutally murdered. This couldn't be further from the truth. There are a couple of points that I wish to make: 1) The Bulgarian army was hailed as a liberator. 2) Before the Bulgarian army entered Macedonia, locals created the so called "Bulgarian Action Committees" in every town and their goal was to facilitate the transition to Bulgarian administration. 3) 60-70% of the administration and the army stationed in Macedonia were made up of locals. 4) The conditions under the Bulgarian administration were not harsh at all as shown by numerous photos and recordings that show Bulgarian soldiers being present at big events without carrying guns and talking and dancing with the locals. There are writings from the locals themselves that confirm this. Also many people were given pensions by the Bulgarian government. The government also paid considerable amount of money for infrastructure construction, the building of many different buildings, including numerous schools. 5) Reprisals were carried out only against the partisans but even the partisan movement wasn't at all strong in Macedonia, in fact it was the weakest in all of Yugoslavia. And the skirmishes between the Bulgarian army and the partisans weren't on ethnic but on ideological ground. Why? Because in the Bulgarian army there were many locals, additionally there were many IMRO members who also helped the Bulgarian army with their own armed bands. On the other side were the partisans on whose side fought Bulgarians even from Bulgaria itself. 6) My last point is that no one denies the deportation of Jews from Macedonia and Thrace. I don't know why you had to bring up the last bit about the dead Macedonians and deported Jews in a such a peaceful and loving video but, hey, you've got to justify the monstrous hatred you feel somehow I guess. Anyways I wish nothing but brotherly relations between our nations but first some serious misconceptions must be cleared out and I hope I helped you in this endeavour.
There have been and still are Rusalii in Bulgaria, Greece, North Macedonia, perhaps elsewhere. It's inherited so maybe you want to go tell them they are not real? Or not Bulgarian? You just can't accept that we are more similar than you want to believe. Our countries had no borders for 500 years and you think a silly recent border is going to somehow magically perfectly split the cultures on both sides where nothing is shared anymore? The only point you have is about songs that are authored, but I have seen Katerino Mome, which is Bulgarian, sung by other countries with the lyrics changed and the country's name changed. It happens. Who cares? And no, I do not support the BG government veto or denial of a Macedonian identity. But this is also ridiculous.
In my humble opinion, Bulgarian and Greek folk music are the leaders amongst the rest. We have the most broad ranging and full of life folk music with the oldest traditions and largest repetoire... whether it be a fast, slow, sad or happy song and dance.

These eastern european dances are remarkably similar, change the music a bit and they could be Romanian, Greek, Albanian, Turkish, Croatian etc.

Not all the songs were bulgarian but you can't know that. danced very well!
Vasilis I love your videos but, any song that has the Zurna, you already know is Macedonian. Why put it in the Bulgarian video? Not to mention some of the other songs that are Macedonian and were included here.
Traditional folk songs from Vardar Macedonia, are considered part of the Bulgarian Folk Tradition. Zurna is also used in many other countries... it is not "Macedonian" or Bulgarian but Persian. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zurna

All the song are Bulgarian. Just you, North Macedonians steal songs from Southwestern Bulgaria (Prirn Macedonia) and North Greece (Aegen Macedonia) and present them as yours. 😅

A typical Bulgarian Mess and people praise it like if it was god’s gift to humanity. But not to us who know better.
This fiasco started during the communist era when the Bulgarians started to copy the big soviet folk ensembles which were praised around the world and the Bulgarians went nuts over them.
They opened Academies for everything. Supercharged Singing, dancing, groups like if they were on steroids.
They came up with 20 Gadulka Orchestras and 50 Gaidas. All to impress and promote their superiority over the other Balkan countries and to tell the world of all the good things that “communism had to offer”.
Of course one would say what they do is their business and I would have no problem with that except when they steal Macedonian songs and dances and promote them as their own.
Even their most popular Gaida player Kostadin Varimezov told us that they constantly listen to to Radio Skopje and watch Macedonian TV, (nothing the other way) and we know why. Look at their videos. Even in this video about one quarter of it is Macedonian content.
The program opened with a Macedonian song from my area in Western Macedonia which is the farthest from Bulgar, and the second song was not even a traditional song from the public domain but it was composed in the 80s by the Macedonian singer Jonche Hristovski.
There were also other songs and dances in this video including the Rusali Dances from Central Macedonia from the Republic and from the Greek Part of central Macedonia across the border and yet the map in the video shows only Bulgaria.
There is nothing wrong with folklore groups doing songs and dances from other countries, many of them do. Like this Polish group singing a Macedonian song (and so well) “Ne se beli Mare mori

I am sure they have plenty of their own folklore but they are trying so hard to win the hearts of the Macedonians and hoping that “one day the Macedonians will realize that they are Bulgarians and will want to join Mother Bulgaria”. Yeah right!
It’s about territorial claims.
They even offer free Bulgarian passports to Macedonians so they can say; “see? The Macedonians are Bulgarians”.
Of course many took the Bulgarian passports but not because they were Bulgarians but because they wanted an easy way to the European Union for a better life, to avoid the poverty they were facing in Macedonia and of course they did not stay in Bulgaria.
Otherwise I don’t see why any Macedonian would want to declare being a Bulgarian. What does Bulgaria have to offer to Macedonians other than Bulgarian passports.

As Elizabeth Barker wrote in her Thesis in 1959; “Bulgaria lost complete sympathy in Macedonia when they went with the Nazis and Occupied Macedonia and killed thousands of Macedonians who resisted their Occupation”. They also sent the Macedonian Jews to Auschwitz. These are facts that the Bulgarians try to deny.
But the Bulgarians never give up on trying to tell the world that Macedonia is Bulgaria. Just like the Greeks who had even put on their toilet paper “Macedonia is Greece”.
Dude calm down, your fierce hatred isn't good for your health. The communist regimes everywhere had a policy of "showing off" in front of the West. And culture and folklore was just one of the sectors that was heavily invested in. Another sector were the sports where to this day people from USSR and Bulgaria are in the top ten of the rankings of many Olympic disciplines. I just don't understand why does that frustrate you. I mean it's not like Yugoslavia didn't do the same thing and it's not like folk groups specifically from Macedonia didn't regularly visit countries from the west. Are you afraid of Bulgaria coming out as superior and you just can't allow it? And because of the fact that some Bulgarian musician listens to Macedonian folk music you prove in some way that you are superior? There are many folklor regions in Bulgaria and the Macedonian folklor region is just one of them. We listen and perform folk music from all regions of Bulgaria. And you cannot blame us that we consider Macedonian folklore as part of our folklore if you take into account the many revivalists through the 19th and 20th century who published books with songs, traditions and all kind of stuff from Macedonia and who thought of them as being Bulgarian. One prime example is the collection of songs of the brothers Miladinov and I'm sure you know well how they named this collection. In Macedonia this name was of course changed. So while you are upset that a Macedonian song from the 80s is presented as Bulgarian (and you have every right), you cannot deny the fact that in Macedonia many things are also either hidden or falsificated with the intention to erase any connection to Bulgaria.
The people in Macedonia didn't listen to folk music from Bulgaria not because they were not interested but because in Yugoslavia was forbidden everything Bulgarian - books, newspapers and it would only make sense that listening to Bulgarian radio was also prohibited. After Macedonian independence the Yugoslav propaganda successfully created an anti-Bulgarian sentiment in Macedonia. I mean even today people oppose the idea of Bulgarian programs being put on Macedonian TV although there are already many Serbian programs. Many Bulgarian texts from monuments, churches, even graves were also erased. You see the pattern here. So that leads me to the thousand dead Macedonians who rose against the bad Bulgarians and were brutally murdered. This couldn't be further from the truth. There are a couple of points that I wish to make:
1) The Bulgarian army was hailed as a liberator.
2) Before the Bulgarian army entered Macedonia, locals created the so called "Bulgarian Action Committees" in every town and their goal was to facilitate the transition to Bulgarian administration.
3) 60-70% of the administration and the army stationed in Macedonia were made up of locals.
4) The conditions under the Bulgarian administration were not harsh at all as shown by numerous photos and recordings that show Bulgarian soldiers being present at big events without carrying guns and talking and dancing with the locals. There are writings from the locals themselves that confirm this. Also many people were given pensions by the Bulgarian government. The government also paid considerable amount of money for infrastructure construction, the building of many different buildings, including numerous schools.
5) Reprisals were carried out only against the partisans but even the partisan movement wasn't at all strong in Macedonia, in fact it was the weakest in all of Yugoslavia. And the skirmishes between the Bulgarian army and the partisans weren't on ethnic but on ideological ground. Why? Because in the Bulgarian army there were many locals, additionally there were many IMRO members who also helped the Bulgarian army with their own armed bands. On the other side were the partisans on whose side fought Bulgarians even from Bulgaria itself.
6) My last point is that no one denies the deportation of Jews from Macedonia and Thrace.
I don't know why you had to bring up the last bit about the dead Macedonians and deported Jews in a such a peaceful and loving video but, hey, you've got to justify the monstrous hatred you feel somehow I guess.
Anyways I wish nothing but brotherly relations between our nations but first some serious misconceptions must be cleared out and I hope I helped you in this endeavour.
There have been and still are Rusalii in Bulgaria, Greece, North Macedonia, perhaps elsewhere. It's inherited so maybe you want to go tell them they are not real? Or not Bulgarian? You just can't accept that we are more similar than you want to believe. Our countries had no borders for 500 years and you think a silly recent border is going to somehow magically perfectly split the cultures on both sides where nothing is shared anymore? The only point you have is about songs that are authored, but I have seen Katerino Mome, which is Bulgarian, sung by other countries with the lyrics changed and the country's name changed. It happens. Who cares? And no, I do not support the BG government veto or denial of a Macedonian identity. But this is also ridiculous.

In my humble opinion, Bulgarian and Greek folk music are the leaders amongst the rest. We have the most broad ranging and full of life folk music with the oldest traditions and largest repetoire... whether it be a fast, slow, sad or happy song and dance.
