Well, I am the proud owner of this here machine. I bypassed the usual Gaggia/Rancilio upgrade from my basic Delonghi pressurised machine to go straight to this, and I love it. I'm making sooo much better coffee now and I've only just started out (I've pulled about 5 shots out of it so far). This video was a big hand in helping me decide, and convincing me I could take this pretty big step up from my lowly "coffee appliance". Thanks James. You need a new pressure stat. The hiss is the over pressure valve releasing. This is a safety feature to stop the machine from exploding. This also means that your brew temperature will be too high. I could help you replace the pressure stat if you are in Melbourne.
I've got this machine ..making so much better coffee than my previus La Pavoni no question about it. but it seems i v facesing some problems with the dosemetter..it starts pressing buttons by its own! we ll see .i have paint the m,achine white mat and some led lights on the both sides .sure looks great

if I recall, you remove the center and then you have access to the not below

If pressure rose very high, your pressurestat probably failed and needs replaceed

The button panel can be replaced, unfortunately one of the more expensive parts on the Mia.
