    Small correction - you can have more than one esim installed but only one esim can be active - I have had 2 or 3 esims in my iPhone at the same time along with a physical sim.

    I recommend using a normal sim for your main number and an eSim for roaming. Your main carrier understands physical sims and only few understand or support eSims. For roaming always use an online source without contract so you can switch around depending on where you are roaming.

      Do you think it would make sense to use the physical SIM for personal and the eSIM for business?

    • @Claro1993
      @Claro1993 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I think it’s the other way around IMO eSim is best for your main carrier while a normal sim is best for roaming as local carriers from tourist destinations would have more affordable data plans and a big chance would be in a SIM card.

    Great video. Hey there, physical sim cards are electronic. All it is is like a CPU meets motherboard. This is software and not hardware, so embedded is a more accurate term.

    The E in e-SIM couldn't stand for "electronic" because the physical SIM is also electronic. . An "electronic" is anything that requires electric current (AC or DC) to function. Your phone, your TV, your computer, microwave, curling iron are all electronic devices.

    Embeded SIM makes much more sense to what an eSIM is. A SIM is also a piece of electronics, so it wouldn't make any sense to call "electronic" to an eSIM if both work inside the phone electronics.

    I have a physical sim in my iPhone which I use in my country. However, if I want to travel to another country and not use my home country plan to save roaming fees, I need to purchase a sim for the country that I’m visiting. The problem is that it’s almost impossible to find an eSIM that has a data AND call plan included. When inquire, I’m told that eSIM are for data and that I can make calls through apps like FaceTime. I just want to have a travel plan identical to my home country through an eSIM.
    Why aren’t all eSIM, purchased for a limited time while traveling, not data AND call compatible?

    vSIM ! The physical card is also 1. Electronic, 2. Embedded (mechanically)… Virtual SIM would be the most logical name for this new magic! (also - why are so many ‘eSIM’ plans - for Europe at least - just for data and not voice?) Thanks!

      @@ivegas1000 Yes, but I think you’re missing the point about the “e” as opposed to “v”. Everything on the phone is “e” - electronic… but the “eSIM” is in reality, a virtual (as opposed to physical) SIM card - that’s why I think vSIM would be a better name (not that it matters - never gonna happen).
