- Exploring Crested Butte can be overwhelming. Things to do in Crested Butte Colorado can go from mild to wild, we do some hiking in Crested Butte, there are offroad trails in Crested Butte, and of course, downtown Crested Butte.
Crested Butte Colorado has many great family-friendly activities, we start our time there at a great dispersed camping site in Gunnison National Forest called Washington Gultch designated dispersed camping. From there we hike the East Creek trail which is a little south of downtown Crested Butte Colorado. The next day we offroad from our boondocking location up to Emerald Lake, this alpine lake has great views and is worth the trip, most stock SUVs can make this trail. The next day we explore downtown Crested Butte and get dinner at The Hideout, they have great American? fusion food. We also tumble into the Crested Butte Mountain Heritage Museum. It's all bout the history Of Crested Butte. We also take out our inflatable Bris boat on Irwin Lake, this lake is about 30 minutes from Crested Butte, it's a great calm day. Last but not least we make the wild hike to the abandoned Crystal Mill near Marbel Coloradgo.

Yeah, it was a good time. We will do our best to throw Zamboni in the videos a little bit more. She's doing great by the way. It's actually a Pitbull that is traveling with us

Crested Butte is still my favorite Mountain Town in Colorado, but I could be a bit biased by the fact Lauren and I honeymooned there :) Great video - loved seeing a lot of the spots that we've been to before.

We were told we couldn’t float the slate river because if you touch the ground the land owners freak out and call the cops for trespassing! So we floated the same lake instead!

Great CO series! And just in time as were headed towards CrestedButt next week. We have 39' Super C and a Rubicon Jeep ... is that hwy 12 road a no-go for us? Curious if any of those Nat. Forest boondocking spots along road would accommodate us? Would be going S from Carbondale then east across towards CB. Have reservations at TT at Blue Mesa Lake but know the hwy 50 bridge is closed to us and would have to take major hassle detour. After a week up there we'll probably head to Creede ... Been fan of your channel since day one ...and we are almost 9 yr FTers ourselves :) (@WingingIt.Fulltime). Cheers.
Thanks for following along. We only did a portion of highway 12 from Crested Butte to Irwin Lake. The road seemed decent but I cannot say if your trailer would make it or not. We stayed at Washington gulch dispersed camping sites. It was pretty nice. Let me know if you have any more questions

Doing research just came across your channel. I’m a father with four young kids, two dogs and a cat. We just went looking at RVs today. We are about to sell our house and start the RV life.
