I’m heading to London this Christmas with my daughter-a history major-and am reading Ackroyd’s histories.
I am so happy I found this!!

I absolutely love Peter Ackroyd, especially his biography of London, one of my all time favourites.
It's good to know that I'm not the only one ;)

I have not read anything by him but I love all British Welch Scottish or Irish. Be it historical fiction or historical. I will definitely look for his books. I think I have in one of my many bookcases his book on Alfred Hitchcock and his book in Charlie Chaplin. Now I want Blake and dickens too

Albion is absolutely the best! I teach high school English in California and it would be my fervent wish is that the entire English Department would read this book. I use excerpts from this book when I teach the Origins of the English Language unit. Thanks for covering this wonderful author.

I've never read a Peter Ackroyd book but sometime I'd like to read some English history and he seems like a good person to start with, along with probably Ruth Goodman and Ian Mortimer.

I’m always recommending Eden’s Outcasts to fellow biography lovers. Extremely vivid storytelling.

I've just finished his biography of Shakespeare and have read a few other his other books that I've enjoyed. He's a solid writer and researcher.

So glad to have found this! I have been wanting to read Peter Ackroyd but wanted to see/read about other readers' stance about his writing. New subscriber here! I really enjoy your videos! Glad to have found your channel, it is quite refreshing to find a booktuber discuss non-fiction, as I love history books. Definitely will pick up Albion, as well as his Venice book. Cheers :)

I have two of his books at home, but still have to read the. I think one of those is about ghost stories and the second the biography of Wilkie Collins ( if I’m not mistaken.)

No I haven't - but I've looked it up and definitely looks like a book I would love! Very much up my street! Thanks for recommending this 🙂
